What date did you register as a CS member?: Thu May 14, 2009 10:50 pm
How many posts have you made in the forum: 6661
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?:Every day, unless i for some reason can not acess a computer. And Sometimes on out of the country vacations.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?4-9 Hours per day. I roam around all of the forums on a regular basis and check up on past threads and roleplays.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position:
-I help out around the *Are You New* thread were we welcome users on a regular basis a link to the thread is here X
-I speak Spanish fluently and writte it well to soem extent. Necessito practicar pero alguna persona que escribe en espanol me podria entender.
-I do know how to answer many peoples questions and am more than glad to do so and if i do not know how to answer a question i do know who can give them the proper answer or a way they can get the answer they seek.
-Ive been through every part of CS, So i know what the rules are how the different features work and what is right and what is wrong. So i am comfortable and fully capable of touring another CS user through everything
-I actually wrote up my own easy basic walk through to CS that i Pm to users at the *Are you New* Thread when they state they have questions.
-I have alot of experience with dealing with problems. I regularly volunteer at an elementary school as well as baby sit. So i know how to deal with problems, and dont mind having to help out a member and help mediate a situation if i see a large problem erupting or am requested to step in.
-I think there is also a large step of responsibility behind being a General Helper you are required to give the correct answers and you have to react in a appropriate way, i am very responsible and as i stated before i make sure i know whats going on and look up the new rules and such regularly but i have also been the head of the yearbook committee at my school.
-I do know how to spell fairly well and understand the rules of grammar which is also important for this position. Because since i would have to explain things over the internet and cannot make eye contact and visual signs to help a person understand the message i am trying to come across with, then good grammar and proper spelling is important.
-I do know alot about trading as i am an avid trader. I also know about the different opinions behind the rarities and the way they are group as in some Rare pets are not actually traded as rares. Either way if i wasnt sure about a trade id most likely re-direct them to the 'Is this a Fair Trade Thread'

Why do you want to be a General Helper? I think its a wonderful chance to help people as well as make sure everyone has a enjoyable time here at Chicken Smoothie. I think its also a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and become more knowledgeable in public services.Plus i want to give back because when i first joined CS there were plenty of people whom helped me learn about the rules and how to navigate through this amazing site.

There isn't an age limit but you are expected to be able to post on the forums so COPPA'd users won't be able to qualify.

APPLICATON
What date did you register as a CS member?: (if it's less than 8 months ago, do not apply)

April 13th, 2009

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): (if it's less than 300, do not apply)

Right now it's at 3,946. ^^ Although it's not much for 2 years compared to some other members (since I only post when necessary typically), I do frequent the forums quite a bit and I believe I know my way around well, especially in the art and trading forums.

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?

I usually visit CS every day at least once to check in on my art shop, what my friends are up to, pet growths, if there is anyone that needs help or advice, etc. ^^

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?

I am usually active on CS for 6 or more hours during the weekends, and usually 2 or 3 hours from Monday to Friday. Even when I'm not "active" on CS, I leave the tab open at all times and check in periodically out of habit xD

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example do you speak any other languages, or have you had any experience in peer mediation? Do you consider yourself a trade-value expert? Do you already answer a lot of questions in the forum?)

I consider myself fluent enough in Mandarin Chinese to be able to talk to others that also know Chinese and to teach those that want to learn. This year will be my 9th year of taking Chinese classes every week for two hours, and I am of Taiwanese descent as well. I will also be taking Japanese courses in the near future. I've noticed in the international forums that there are quite a few of people that seek to learn these two languages, and I try to help them if no one has already or whenever I have spare time. And finally, being born and raised in America, I am fluent in English so I can teach it to those that cannot understand it well too.

While I don't have official experience as a counselor or peer mediator, I often offer advice to my friends as well as helping to solve their conflicts from time to time. I don't like to create fights or grudge wars on the internet or in person, and I work very hard to be a friendly and humourous, yet mature and understanding person. I believe other people think of me as someone they can freely ask for help in both my daily life and my life on CS, and so that is why I think I am ready for this job.

When I just joined on CS about two years ago, it was around the time of the easter hunt. I did not understand what rarities were nor how valuable pets like hunt rabbits and grinners were, so I'm disheartened to say that I was cheated out my pets very quickly. When I realized a few months later how easily I became a victim, I dedicated myself to learn all I could about trading. Since then, I think I've become fairly knowledgeable about trade values. I often my help my friends on CS with the trades they get: whether or not it's unfair, how much either side should add to make it fair, how much a pet is worth, etc. I frequent the "Is this a fair trade?" thread a lot, to answer any questions that I am sure of and also to ask my own questions now and then. Although sometimes I have to use resources such as the "Is this a fair trade?" thread and the "'The' Rares List" thread for higher value trades, I still pride myself in the fact that I know how to trade fair, that I know where resources like the threads I mentioned are, and that I can advise people in trade values now.

I try to answer any question I see on the forum to the best of my ability; of course not to the point that it becomes mini-modding xD, but yes I do try my best x3 I usually answer a lot of questions through PMs, my art shops, adoptable threads, and the like. Especially on threads where I am appointed as a mod, I get many questions that I work to answer as efficiently as I can. I most often get questions about trade values and art/image-related things such as "how do I post an image on CS" and "how do I set up an art shop", etc. I visit the "Need Help Pricing Artwork?" thread quite a bit to help other artists decide on a fair price as well, since most of the time I am on an art forum when I am online and I consider myself experienced in pricing art. I also know how to use the posting format options on CS pretty well, so I help out users about that from time to time.

Why do you want to be a General Helper?

Although even without the job of General Helper I will still help out here and there on the forums, I am applying for this job because I think it would be a great experience for me to become a more helpful and kind person and to be able to work with other helpers. I usually make friends with others very quickly, and I consider myself a very open-minded person, so I'd like to be able to use that to help others. I'd also like to be able to reach out to more people that need help, and I believe that is what this job is for. I want to be able to show others clearly that I am a user that can be trusted, and that I am a "help desk" where they can learn the answers to their questions and get advice.

Thank you so much again for the opportunity ^^ and good luck to the other applicants as well C:

No.

Tigress & Riff wrote:Tigress and I want to be General Helpers, but are we even allowed to since there are two people at this account? I figure we are, since Tif + Jo is a joined General Helper account. Also, do we each have to make an application, or are we able to submit one that we both worked on? Thanks in advance.
-Riff

That's fine, but you both need to apply and you'd have to both be selected for either of you to be successful (if that makes sense)

Minimum age and COPPA members:
There is no minimum age for the position, and we don't need you to tell us your age.

However, anyone who is currently in the COPPA restriction group will not be eligible for the position unless they send in their COPPA permission slip. This is because General Helpers need to be able to post in the forum and send/receive PMs which you would be unable to do if you're still under the COPPA protection, so your helping abilities would be severely limited.

APPLICATION

1. What date did you register as a CS member?: September 25, 2008
2. How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 4,275
3. How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Definitely everyday C:
4. How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? At least 3 or 4. But usually more like 6-9.
5. Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position: I know pet values very well, as I've traded a lot to complete my collection. In the past I have also posted many, many warm welcomes to new members.
6. Why do you want to be a General Helper?
Well, I love Chicken Smoothie, and I would be honored to help out here. It makes me smile every time I'm able to point someone in the right direction or explain something they're confused about. In the past few years I've enjoyed answering questions from new and old members alike. I have been a consistent member on this website for almost three years now, and I have kept up to date with the news, ever-changing community, and rule additions/changes. I'm confident I can answer any and all questions thrown at me. For example, I never think twice about replying with a detailed response if someone PMs me a question. In fact, I would like to have that opportunity more often. I'd feel all the time I spend on here has a good purpose.
I try my best in being as kind and understanding as possible to everyone I meet, online and off. I feel I am a very patient person, so I wouldn't mind answering the same questions over and over. I see no point in snapping at or acting rudely towards people, no matter how they act towards me.
It would make me extremely happy to know I am part of a team that is counted on to answer questions and give advice. Too many times I've seen older members patronize and ridicule newer members, just because the newer members don't know their way around yet. I would like to help put a stop to that, by accepting the responsibility and joining the General Helpers Team. ^-^

Regarding Riff's question;;

So if I wanted to apply as a general helper, Wolf (my account partner) would also have to apply in order to qualify since we're a joined account? We'd also both have to be picked? I was thinking of trying out, but I'd still have to ask Wolf if she also has to apply--

1.What date did you register as a CS member?: May 31st, 2010
2.How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 5,473
3.How many days a week do you usually visit CS? 7
4.How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? 2-5 hours - all day long
5.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position: Although I do not speak any different languages, I love to hop onto google translate and talk to people that way. Once I traded with someone foriegn by doing this, and I found it really helpful, and fun to chat with them. I Have been on chicken smoothie for a VERY long time, and I know a whole lot about this website. I am good with trade values and dates on this, and would love to explain values to new members so they don't get ripped off. I also have invited 5 of my bestfriends to join, and they have, so I like to invite people to join with me in the fun!
6.Why do you want to be a General Helper?

I would like to be Helper because it is a great way to meet new people and be more social on this website. CS is one of my favorite websites, and I hope i will never outgrow it because it is so wonderful, and I want everyone else to feel the same way about the website as I do. Every now and then, i go to the bottom of the forums and see the newest member, and donate portions of my trading section to them, just because I don't need the pets, and it's a great way for you to get started. I am online ALL the time, so contacting me would never be a problem. I am overall friendly, and I think I have gotten only 2 warnings, one a very long time ago, and another that was just a scuffle between a roleplaying partner, that I apologized for and we are now friends!:) I am completely approachable, if anyone ever needs me they just shoot me a PM!

Thanks SO much!!

Yes, you would both have to make application posts, and for you to become a general help, both of you would have to be chosen.

APPLICATON

What date did you register as a CS member?: Sat Aug 22, 2009 11:34 am
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): Total posts: 7378
How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Everyday
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? School: EST Australia 4:30PM-9:30PM Weekend.. 10:00AM-6:30PM
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position? I am always ready to perform new tasks and am always ready to solve a problem... AND I WON'T EVER GIVE UP ON IT... well at least until it's resolved to so extent! I am also learning German at school and an artist who knows the rules of art thief and is willing to pursue anyone whose art looks suspicious in anyway... I also have full knowledge on rarities of 2009-2011 pets... I'm not that good of the original 2008 pets I must admit.
Why do you want to be a General Helper?
I would like to apply to be a General Helper to help fellow CS players resolve problems and any conflicts they are having plus I love Chicken Smoothie in every way possible and would love to be part of the team and its moderator community. As a long term CS player I have witnessed the increase of players on the forums and wish to help newcomers as CS's community continues to rise over the future. I also think for personal reasons that I'd be a great way use the advice I give to people here to people in real life if they are having a problem.

Best wishes to all that apply!
