"That sounds like as good an idea as any," said Betty, with an approving nod. It wasn't as if her opinion counted at all, but she knew that was better then risking the navy ship.

Rodney piped in at that point, "Should I tell Ingo?" he asked, knowning she should probably be alerted of their plan.

"As fast as you can," replied Sonja, giving Rodney a slight push towards the door. "Otherwise, we'll catch a trade wind in the sails and be going too fast to turn about and come back."

"I'm sorry, but I can't," replied Melody sadly. "Just in case you're lying. Besides, how do I know that ye won't poison the Cap'n, or let 'er bleed out before we can stop ye? It's too risky, if ye see what I mean."

Dunny shrugged before he hadan idea. "do you have a healer? If you do I have herbs that could help, a healer could verify that they're not poison. Besides what would I gain by murdering her, I would just meet a slow painful death I expect." dunny looked down at his feet defeatedly, he was sick of trying to convince people he was a good person.
He tried to put his mind of it, "whencan we spar?" he asked bored.

[Yeah. But Ingo's in charge of the ship, since the captain is unconscious.]

"Our healer was killed during a raid last spring," replied Melody, dejectedly. "He was the quartermaster, too, and the cook, so we lost about half of our crew when Patric died. That was before we had so many members." She didn't answer Dunny's second question, being lost in thought as she was.

Dunny frowned, but he hadn't know the people and these things happened. A risk as a pirate he guessed. "I wish I could help, no-one else need die." he decided to repeat himself, "can we spar yet? With out weapons, but if you want to keep yours I understand."

Bree sighed as she stepped out of the large cabin and out onto the deck, the sea seemed calm and the breeze wasn't too strong, but it looked like it could rain. She breathed in the thick salty sea air and made her way towards the left side of the Maiden, leaning over slightly to admire the crashing waves rushing past the ship. Bree almost smiled, it was nice to just watch the scenery sometimes, but reality soon came flooding back when she started to hear talking again, Bree scowled. Was there ever any quiet moments on board? But the talking did add a nice touch, it even made Bree feel a little sleepy, well, that was also probably because she'd stayed up late the night before.

"Not yet," replied Melody, taking a length of cord from around her neck. On it hung a number of keys, one of which she used to lock the door of the brig. Unless Dunny had the key- which he wouldn't- or he could break down the door- and that was not probable- he wouldn't be able to reach the upper deck of the ship. Then the quartermaster unlocked Dunny's cage, but held the door shut with one calloused hand until the string of keys was safely around ehr neck again and tucked down the front of her high-collared shirt. "Now we can spar," she said, setting Dunny's weapons aside and leaving her own emergency dagger with them. "A fair fight," she continued. "No biting, scratching, hair-pulling or kidney-punching. First to be unable to fight, tap out, or call for a halt loses."

Dunny grinned "what about kidney kicks?" he asked cheekily as he sauntered out. If he could get the key, he could get out, but he hadn't a death wish and was content to spar. As an after thought he added, "must warn you if you injure anywhere sensitive I'm not sure I'll be able to control myself!" he stept forwar and raised his fists, speeding his feet shoulder width and putting his weight on the ball of his toes ready for any surprise attacks.

"I think you'll find that I on't fight dirty," replied Melody with a grin, placing her hands on her hips like she wasn't about to start fighting anyt time soon. "As for kicking. I don't know if you know this, but the ankle bone is, beside the collarbone, the most fragile and the easiest to break." She saw how Dunny set himself up, and had decided to take a more casual approach. She wanted to see if this was about a fair fight, or a grab for her keys. If he attacked first, she could show him just how fast she was, and why she was the ship's combat specialist.
