Hello everyone,
I think I've got this Daemon thing down, except for one thing. I can't project worth anything! I used to be able to do it with a snap of my fingers (figuratively speaking) but I just can't seem to do it anymore. Does anyone have a suggestion that might help me? I've read up on Daemon sites, but no one really has a clear answer.

After projecting the same marten for years without change, projecting other things (especially birds) became weirdly difficult, so I spent some time on Youtube looking up videos of different species and then trying to replicate their movements in my mind's eye immediately after. Give that a try?

Ohh!! This sounds like a great idea!! This will be outstanding practice for me!! {Not that German Shepherds are that uncommon...} It will probably help me project Kovaus doing more "advanced" movements instead of sitting or walking...I would agree, watching and getting to know an animal's movements in real life could defiantly improve your projecting skills!! Thanks for the idea!!

I'm new the the daemon community, and I'd really like some help. Right now, I'm making a form for an RA on the actual forums. Does anyone have any tips on speaking with your daemon, or agreeing on a name with it?

Hi Digame. :B I'm Insanity and the dae's Nijiri. G'day. Finding your form can be very difficult, I haven't even scratched the surface yet with my form-finding. xD A tip for the RA - be as descriptive as possible. The more information that you can give to people, the more they can base off of. c: I'm starting to make mine too.

As for speaking to your daemon - It's really quite simple. You might be speaking to him/her without noticing it! To actually get used to asking questions and talking, you could ask yourself questions. This is a pretty cool technique I stumbled across on TDF - when doing something, ask yourself something like "Now where did I put that thing again? What video should I watch now? Do these crisps taste good?" Things like that. The little voice/reply in your head just might be your daemon. (: Agreeing on a name took a lot of time for me and Nir - we went though two or three to find the one that actually fit(Kilandro, the Marius, now Nijriri. c:). Just looking around and seeing names that you like or fits you well or just clicks is fine. That whole part is up to you. X3 Hope I helped~ <3

Thank you so much c: It helped quite a bit, actually. Right now we've agreed as Miiarjae for his (assuming it's a he because the voice is male) temporary name. :3

Yeah, it takes time settling on a name. To be honest, me and Giddy prefer for him having multiple names. He is known as Tier, Gideon, which is the main name, and Ben. Because I am constantly yelling at another annoying cat named Ben. And so I find myself accidentally calling dear, sweet Gideon Ben, and we're experimenting with the name Pennywise. He likes it, but he's coulrophobic like me too, and being on page 345 of the book IT doesnt help with the coulrophobia whatsoever. Giddy constantly cowers away in the corners of my mind and doesnt speak to me while I'm reading without being summoned. Is it wrong to do that to him?

Kite had his name instantly. He came into existence with a name already attached. We've been looking for a formal, 'longer' name, but its hard to find one when you've already got the would-be nickname. Oh well, I suppose we'll find one when we aren't looking...

So, I'm posting because I'm curious about this. I'm a therian (Maltese Tigress X Blue Morpho Butterfly). :3 However, recently I've begun to doubt my Blue Morpho Butterfly. I 'feel' his wings and antenna sometimes, but I'm wondering if that's just a cameo shift. My Blue Morpho feels like an extension of myself, more of a calm personality... >.> I dunno if this is making any sense at all... I'll probably be stalking this thread for a while... >.> Hiding in the shadows, trying to work things out. :3

Right now I'm trying to decide if my daemon's name should be Octavious or Austin or Ceasar. I keep calling him Occ, and he dislikes it very much. But he likes Ceasar. The question is whether or not I'll agree to it.

No! That's not wrong. If it is, then I do it all the time. I read, and I push Occ/Ceasar/Austin away so I can concentrate.

That's how it started with mine. I'd just called him 'him' and 'he' for a while, and then one random day I said to myself, "So, Octavious, what do you think of this towel?" And that's when it hit me. Octavious. Then, of course, I had to second guess myself and say, "well, I like Octavious. But Austin's a cool name too. And I've always loved the name Ceasar." So, yeah. I still don't know his name.

Ummm daemons are nothing to do with theriotypes, so we can't really help you there. xD
