chloe sighed "thats fine you can go to" why was everybody abandoning her? she was tempted to ran after them then remembered mey and she couldn't leave her

Bree raised an eyebrow, then rolled her eyes, "great - 'sounds interesting - now tell me the real story." She wasn't quite sure if Chris was lying or not, but she was prepared to take the risk, her mother had always known when someone was lying because she was good at recognising body language. Chris's body language wasn't as clear, probably because he was a tree. "I won't be mad at you," Bree told him, "seriously, we all screw up sometimes."

He sighed. "OK. Well I was coming home from work, when I saw a girl sitting alone on a bench. And I thought I recognised her. Turns out I have never seen her before in my life. So I go up to her, and we are 'supposedly' going to her house, but instead we go to some abandoned building site. Then she's about to eat me. But I stop her. I have the option of getting Ping back, but I don't want to tell you this option because if I have to do it then I don't want you to know what I'm doing." he looked at the floor. "Please don't tell anyone about all this."

Bree shook her head, "I promise I won't tell anyone ... But, you are going to tell the others about this, aren't you? Eventually? At some point?" Her eyes had gone even wider than they usually were, and that generally meant she wasn't playing games, she was absolutely serious. "Well, whatever happens, we have to get Ping back, I'll try and help, if I can think of a plan ..." She trailed off, "but that would involve you telling me the thing you don't want to tell me, wow this is tricky ... ummm ..."

Chris looked down even more ashamed. "Basically I have to prove to her that I'm not a predator by 'feeding' in front of her." He said this really quickly, then sat on the side of the road.

Bree gasped, "but that's positively horrible! What kind of person, or even predator would do that?" She shook her head, but she'd been thinking, and had come up with the start of a plan. She'd need to perfect it though, and she didn't want to tell Chris yet, she didn't want to sound pushy or make him more nervous than he was already. Besides, she didn't even know what he wanted to do. "I promise I won't tell," Bree said eventually, "but what do you think you're going to do?"

He looked up. "Well were getting Ping back, that's for sure. He's like the brother I never had. The only option I can see, is to do as she says." He got up. "Do you have any ideas before I do what I have to do?"

Bree bit her lip, "well, umm ... I did have one, but I'm still thinking about it," she shrugged. "I don't think it would work very well, and it's very risky but ... I thought that perhaps me, Chloe, Mey or Georgia could pretend to be human, and then the rest could hide in the building, then at the last minute all jump out and pin this predator to the ground." Bree smiled, when she said it out loud the plan actually sounded like it could work, "but of course we'd have to make some decisions, like who would pretend to be human, and ask the others of course."
