Samatha looked at Jake and said " This is the best dog I have ever had." She kissed the top of Lassie's head and smiled and rubbed the collies back. Lassie heard Sam talking about how good she was and barked. She walked over to Jake laying her head on his lap looking at him."Hello, Would you be the boy Sam is smitten over?"

Jake looked down at the dog, and stood from the couch. Opening the lounge door he closed his eyes for a moment, then took off at a dead sprint. "Jess!" he called to his sister, but she was already heading into the barn. Grabbing a horse bucket and filling it with water, Jake climbed the ladder into the hay loft, coughing at the smoke, tossing the water onto the burning lamp. Hearing the sizzling sound of the fire dying, he looked down from the loft, seeing Jessica calming some of the horses. He was just glad the fire hadn't reached the stables. Jake heard the crackling sound of fire again, and found the hay that was around him had flames licking up the stalks, charring them. "Great." he muttered.

Samatha saw Lassie run into smoke she called " Lassie, Jake!" Lassie had rolled in water, and ran up into the loft barking at the flames. She shook and a pacht of flame dissappered. Lassie grabbed Jakes pants and began to pull him. Samatha ran into the barn and unlocked her horses stalls. Black and Lola ran out. She said " Jake!" she coughed as she got closer to hayloft.
