I have a soft spot for Daleks too (they're my first memory of anything Who related), but that doesn't mean that I could ever side with them as an entire race. You feel bad for the one in Dalek, sure. You find Dalek Caan funny, sure. But Daleks are spacenazis. They are not for sympathising with.
Yeah, the Doctor kills people (;-; the hobo behind his house <3), but he deals with the consequences afterwards. Daleks have no conscious. They just kill people. In the grand scheme of things, from a human perspective, the Doctor is the lesser of the evils.
