Quickly Birdkit hooked it with her claw and sent it flying back over to Spottedkit. She knew if they could sneak in, because they were small enough they sure could sneak out and get falconpaw back. '' Strayclan wouldn't hurt kits would they? '' Birdkit thought

Spottedkit titled her head to the nurshery enterance, "Look Birdkit, it went all the way outside!" she mewed loud enough for Whitefeather to hear and scampered out. Once out side she once again whispered, "Now if we just play closer and closer to the edge of camp I bet we could squeeze out into the forest and no one would know any different."

' Good idea! ' Birdkit said hooking the moss and tossed it closer to the camp entrance. Quickly she scampered next to the entrance waiting for Spottedkit to toss it back to her.

Ravenflight hissed at the kits, flicking back her ears as she stood in their way. "Get back inside the nursery. This is no place for kits." The usually gentle she-cat meant business, her fur bristling with anger. There was no way they were going to lose any more to Strayclan, especially not kits. This was not debatable... They would be going straight back to the nursery.

His breathing slowed as Featherpaw curled up beside him, just letting him know that she was alright. Pulling her closed with a paw, he rested his head beside hers, flicking his tail to tell the medicine cat apprentice that she could leave to tend to those more in need. It was up to luck now for him... Luck and willpower. Pulling up strength from inside of him, as he had done in an attempt to defend Featherpaw during the attack, he spoke confidently. "Of course we will."

'' But were only playing mossball! I accidently hit it by the entrance'' Birdkit complained picking up the mossball and bringing it back to the nursery. '' Can we still play pleaseee? '' She begged

Ravenflight sighed but nodded, sitting down and calming her fur so it lay flat against her back once more. "Yes, you may continue playing... But please... Stay near the nursery. We have lost too many to add you two to the list. Strayclan are still around here, and they will not leave you alone just because you are kits. They would kill you." Hanging her head, she curled her tail over her paws, standing guard. One of her ears had been torn to ribbons, her tail half missing. The skin on the side of her face was mangled, some parts hanging by a thread. Certain that one of her front legs was broken, she sat still, not wanting to cause herself any more pain.

Birdkit smiled '' We will '' she said flicking the mossball back and forth. '' Why would they harm kits, Ravenflight? '' Birdkit asked her flicking her tail back and forth looking at the mangled warrior.

"You are not their clan. Inbred swine. They have no sympathy for outsiders, or at least that's the impression I got when they came into our territory demanding our surrender. What makes you think they wouldn't? They slaughtered us in our own clan then kidnapped those nearest the exits... Those poor unlucky souls..." Hanging her head, she trailed a claw down her face, cutting the threads to allow the skin access to the open air, to speed up recovery. She knew just how slow and painful it was going to be for her, but there was a possibility that she was pregnant with Blackstar, she had to keep herself alive.

Birdkit grew nervous, and stayed far away from the entrance '' I hope they don't attack again ... But what about all those gone? We MUST save them '' Birdkit meowed flicking her tail back and forth again as she thought more with a puzzled look on her face.

Ravenflight nodded, turning so only her good side was visible. "I don't know if we could survive another attack quite so soon, but we weren't the only ones to suffer. We took them down with us. If we're going down, we're going down with a fight, and they'll sure as hell come down with us." Holding herself proud and tall, she smiled to reassure herself, a deep determination in her eyes.
