I do realize that I am a member and I am here to help wolves but....
Though many people sy "Oh how could you kill a wolf?! Ehat is wrong with you? They all deserve to live!" Yes, every animal has a right to life just like anyone else. But how do you think we get bacon? It doesn't grow on trees I guaruntee you that. They have to kill pigs to get bacon, hate to tell 'yall that. Though pigs are not endangered does that make it any more right or wrong? No it doesn't. So when you tell someone it is wrong to kill a wolf think about this If wolves were not hunted they would kill farmers livestock. Okay there is a few that get killed. That is self defence. Now when someone goes into the wild to kill wolves. Well, he has to pay a fee to get a licence. That money goes to the government and then part of that goes to helping wildlife and such. So though he may have killed one or two he still helps them in a way. Now unlicences killings are another thing.

They kill livestock because humans are tearing down their natural habitat and their prey's natural habitat which forces the prey to leave. What other choice do they have? Which would you rather do; kill a sheep or starve to death? Pigs are abundant. Wolves are not. And wolves don't attack people on sight! They attack in self-defense or if they are provoked. You're more likely to get hit by a meteor rather than attacked by a wolf, if you leave it alone! And pigs are killed for meat, wolves are killed for sport! Wolves are endangered all about the country, except in like 2 states. If you're optimistic about wolf killing then maybe you shouldn't have dedicated yourself...

I'm sure she's not optimistic about, she's just proving a point. Don't worry, MadiWolfClaw, If Oreo pledged to support wolves, she wouldn't want them to die.

Yes, i do support wolves very much. But are we saying it is wrong to kill wolves and not any other animal? Basically what a lot of people are saying is "Don't kill wolves! But let them kill your hard work and what keeps you alive and your income. They are only doing it for food. But its okay to kill a bear or a snake that comes in your yard." But in my opinion livestock that is in use for a family's income is way more important than a rabid wolf. I do love wolves, but some people are ridiculos about them.

First of all. Calm down.

People normally only attack wolves if they pose a threat to their livestock, e.g., self defense. Keeping the wolf population at a stable level helps both ranchers and the wolves themselves. Would you rather a quick bullet to the head or be forced to starve and/or resort to cannibalism? Unfortunately, when humans come into the mix, nature doesn't fluctuate like it used to prior to our involvement.

Gray wolves, at least, are actually a fairly abundant species. They are most definitely NOT endangered in all but two states, and even if they were, those results would be skewed-- I'm pretty sure there weren't a ton of fluffy gray wolves hanging in Maryland, where I live, before. IUCN lists them as Least Concern, the best a species can be, with a stable population.

Wolves are killed out of self defense and for meat as well. Plus, all proceeds from hunting licenses go towards conservation efforts. You do realize that these pigs cost a good deal of money, and it's a blow to a rancher if he loses one? Many have emotional attachments to their animals.

And, no. You are far more likely to be attacked by a wolf than hit by a meteor. If a wolf is hungry enough, it will eat you.

And honestly, just because someone supports wolf hunting that keeps the population stable and away from starvation does not mean they hate all wolves.

Thank you Silver, if I may call you that, you have a point. Wolves are not all that people love to think. Not better than any other animal. Ethiopian wolves and such I can understand getting a bit upset about but not Grey wolves.

Yes, grey wolves (I believe) are the least endangered wolves, but they still need our support. It would be so sad if you never heard a howl again :(

I will not budge on my response. I said it for a reason. I do understand everyone else's views on this little... erm... bump?, but I am standing with mine. Wolves are afraid of humans. Coyotes? That's a different story... But I doubt a wolf will just come out and eat you. Stereotypes like this are the ones that gave wolves a bad name... -_-
