I'm on mobile and for whatever reason, I can't get the tool palettes to minimize in the way that allows you to keep them on your screen for easy access. When I started my first drawing the other day it worked smoothly; I haven't come across any potential cause or solution, but I feel like I'm missing something obvious. I've clicked around on different options and tried reloading the page, but no luck. I'd appreciate any advice/suggestions!

When adopting one character from a group and being added to the canvas, how can I move my character out of its spot with all its layers intact? Basically what I'm asking is, if it's possible to marquee select and then move something - lineart, fill, and all - without merging those layers into one layer, or moving each piece one by one? I see people getting theirs into a corner so they can have room to do a bigger drawing but I haven't figured out the trick.

hi!! to start, you're going to want to create a group folder, which is the folder icon on the layers tab. Then from there, you'll want to drag and drop all your layers into the group. as you drag and drop, make sure your group layer is "highlighted" in a slightly thicker black line. this means you've dragged it correctly, so when you unclick, it'll be in the group. if you see a thick black line between your group and another layer, that's incorrect.
Once all the layers you need are in that folder, click on the group folder you made so that it's highlighted blue. from there you can simply do control+a and control+y to move the adopt around. if it's on a sheet where all the lineart is one layer, all the colors are all one layer, etc, you'll need to erase the excess first, but the process will still be the same otherwise.
hope this helps!!

I don't know if I'll get an answer but I figured I'd try. I was going to try to fill a base on Oekaki with one of my OCs but I can't find how to import my image of my OC to color pick from it. Is there a way to upload my image as a layer to an existing piece? What's an ACO file? Do I need to use another website to pick my colors and import them?
I was using chicken-paint I think, if that changes the approach.

No, there is not currently a way to import your own image. I think this is likely like this due to wanting to try and prevent stolen artwork, so you can't just upload someone else's work to the oekaki and post it as your own.
A workaround I find easiest, though, is to go to image color picker.com, import my image and you can click on certain parts for the hexcode. to import it, you'll need to copy and paste from this website, then go back to oekaki. once you're in oekaki, you'll click the bottom most rectangle there:

and a window should pop up for you to paste your hexcode. if you want, you can even click the + sign on the color swatches box to save your hex code.
please feel free to message me if you have questions!!

In addition to ☼ avalon's advice, there is also an
an oekaki guide that explains all the different functions of oekaki c: pretty useful. You can search the page for "hex code" to bring up the steps to input hex codes in oekaki. In case you forget.
