01/30 Fishing Open!
Weather Forecast:
The day eases into a gentle calm. Golden rays slip through the clouds, and a quiet peace settles over you as the warmth of the sunlight thaws your chilled soul. However, this tranquility comes at a cost: Your time spent ice fishing seems to be coming to an end soon. As nothing is eternal, the surrounding ice has begun to soften, with water seeping through the micro-cracks that have since appeared. The lake feels less asleep now, slowly waking up from its slumber and preparing to let go of its icy grip. By the look of things, this will likely be the last visit to the hole -- by tomorrow, it will have fully awakened from its frozen rest. Do you try your luck one last time, or would you rather not risk things?
You are out enjoying a stroll on the ice when the ground politely vanishes. You find yourself peering into a perfectly circular hole. You stare at it. It stares back at you. The water is clear, yet the depths refuse to reveal what lurks beneath. Still, you feel a pull, drawn to what might be lurking below, just out of sight. What do you do?
RULES:
Starting today, every three days, you have the option to go ice fishing. You are free to respond as yourself or as one (or more) of your pinnis. If you do not own any pinnis, you are also free to use any of our mascots, Momo, Nono, or Roro, found here. There is a 30-word minimum for your response. If you are rolled for a prize and your post does not hit the minimum word count, you will be rerolled. You may only win a pinni prize once, but you are free to continue posting for fun during subsequent days.
This booth operates using CS's timezone, which you can view here.
Days of ice fishing sessions:
01/18
01/21
01/24
01/27
01/30
Please wait until I've updated the front page and made a new post announcing that a new session has opened before fishing again!
Prizes will be distributed 3 days after an ice fishing period opens. As long as you post a form within those three days, prior to rollover, your form will be valid for that fishing period.

Banjo Bindle looks at the ice hole with curiosity and raging determination. The ice hole looks at them in fear, they think, except the ice hole has no emotions. Banjo Bindle grabs a fishing pole they have on them for reeling in whatever prize they have their sights set on; a fish, a crisp $20 bill, maybe someoneβs sandwich.
They feel that thereβs a prize underneath the water, and it will certainly will become Banjo Bindleβs. It just depends on how long it takes. They prepare to spend three entire days hunkered at the ice hole. They see nothing wrong with this.

Forum/viewtopic.php?f=87&t=5056046#p149444173 Ice fishing attempt:
The large angel stood over the hole, inspecting it. careful as her large front paws occasionally threatened to give away under the slippery ice, she let her head down to let the tip of her head touch the crisp cold water to gauge the depth and temperature the water held.
He had come here for a reason! She couldnβt let the cold shake her thoughts as she sat down, and prepared the fishing line. Although this was her first time doing this, it felt strangely familiar as she went through the motions of setting up her bait and tossing out the reel..
although he couldnβt physically eat, the decision to fish was something he made after listening to the conversations of mortals discussing food, primarily their hunger during the winter seasons.

here!Ice fishing attempt:What a wonderful day to go fishing, thanks to this conveniently placed Ice Hole!!! Unfortunately, Roro is not quite the smartest... With absolutely zero clue on how to fish, she bobs her paws on the surface of the water, playing with her reflection. Any fish that would've fallen for a quick hook has swam off from such childish commotion by now.
We're going to bed hungry tonight.

π¦π¦π¦Ice fishing attempt: #785 - Nightwatcher

Nightwatcher peered into the hole that appeared before him, but nothing moved. He sighed "well isn't that just convenient." He shook his head and decided to give fishing a try, a much slower pace compared to his normal vigilante lifestyle. He decided to give it a go, it did feel strangely peaceful out here, and the waters calm movements eased his nerves. He laid down beside the hole, staring to see if he could see any other friends around. He's quite awkward and wouldn't know what to say other than being his normal sly, sarcastic comments. But maybe if a fish bobs the line he'll be able to try out better communication tactics.

Jelly bounces over, peeking into the hole in the ground. Well, he's feeling hungry, might as well try to catch some fish instead of going to McDonalds or something... This is certainly a good idea. He looks around and grabs a stick from the ground, and quickly realizes he has no string. No worries... He waves the stick around into a cobweb. Good job. Most intelligent.
Stick + cobweb will certainly work. Yes.

Here! Ice fishing attempt:
#580 - Lori

Lori wrote:Ice fishing. Ice, fishing. Ice.. fish. Fish. Am fish?
It believes it spies the flickery movement of its fellow fishes beneath the surface and plunges into the frigid depths with no second thought, or any thoughts at all, really. Is water, am fish. I swim. There are no possible repercussions for this.
What do you mean "it's cold"?

Ice fishing attempt:
while ice fishing isn't a frequent activity of theirs, regular fishing certainly is; surely it's bound to be an easy task! nelumbo is most at home in the water, and is a steady swimmer, and so- oh! oh dear... they did not consider how cold the water would be. merely dipping a toe in is enough to have them skitter back away from the hole. this poses a small problem, how are they supposed to catch fish outside of the water? they sit themself down with a small huff at the edge of the ice, peering into the depths below. seems like they'll have to spend some time thinking of an alternative before they can actually start... a lesson in preparedness, it seems.

ripples looks into the hole, tail swishing excitedly. he swipes at the water, then snatches his paw away, whining at the cold; then switches to purring in amusement as a blurry fish darts away. he.. doesn't seem to understand he's supposed to catch the fish, not scare it away.. oh well. at least he's doing something instead of just sleeping??
