Water watched his sister with Leopardbelly. He was getting impatient but tried to focus on the fact that he would be an apprentice before the day was over.

"Waterkit, from now on until you recieve your warrior name, you will be known as Waterpaw. Owlmask, you are ready for an apprentice, you will be Waterpaw's mentor. I know you will pass on your loyalty and strength to Waterpaw, and teach him the skills that will make him a brave warrior of Skyclan." Ashstar paused for a moment and looked down at the remaining kit, Windkit.

Windkit stared up at Ashstar, barely breathing. She was ready for this moment, and she would then be an apprentice. Windkit stretched on her toes, not wanting to seem the smallest like usual.

Lynxbound watched the kits receive their apprentice names. He could feel their joy, and it reminded him of when he was a young apprentice.

Waterpaw could hardly keep himself from bouncing. He turned around, ready to touch noses with Owlmask.
