Who: GLaDOS
Why: I'm a huge GLaDOS fan, and we need someone to RP as her
About this Character: This is gonna be tough, GLaDOS is so complex!

GLaDOS' name stands for Genetic Lifeform and Disc Operating System. She was created by Aperture labs as a computerized artificial intelligence (or AI). She had four cores, The Anger Core, The Curiousity Core, The Logic Core, and the Morality Core that helped regulate her personality. (I didn't play the first game, so I'm not positive of what happened to these, though I believe they were destroyed.) There are lot's of theories of what the relationship between GLaDOS and Caroline is, personally, I believe Caroline was put into GLaDOS to increase her kindness, but GLaDOS figured out a way not to allow Caroline to affect her. I also believe that as POTaTOS, the Caroline part of GlaDOS was more effective.

Test Subject

Designation(Name): Mel Martinez
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Bio: Mel had big dreams of working at the wonderful establishment of Aperture Science. All her life she had studied hard and dedicated it to computer science. She had heard rumors of the GLaDOS project and wanted nothing more then to help. The fact of putting the human mind into a machine had always fascinated her and she herself hoped to one day be transferred into a computer. Despite her numerous years of research into the computer sciences the only thing they were excepting at the time were test subjects.

Even though she had never been an athletic girl they accepted her anyway due to lack of people applying. Over time Mel grew used to the constant testing environment and never knowing what day it was or what time of day. Her mind often wondered to the science of things and had the most complicated of answers for the simplest of puzzles...thinking of the science behind things.

Finally however her dream had come true. They needed someone for the Red Phone Plan in case GLaDOS because sentient or god-like. She was the only one desperate enough to take the job. For days on end she would sit by the phone and admire at the construct that was the genetic life form and disc operating system. Sometime inadvertently she would find herself tinkering with it when it was offline. Years past and eventually they claimed that it should be fully operational. However things constantly went array as within a 16th of a picosecond she would try and kill the human employees at Aperture with Neurtoxin. This had nearly gotten Mel killed on several occasions but she still had hope for the GLaDOS project.

Finally when they installed a Morality Core and then an Intelligence Dampening Sphere GLaDOS claimed to have no more interest in killing. Mel took this opportunity to have some conversations with the machine. Something tipped her off though that the machine was most certainly not done with killing and was plotting something. Before she could say anything to her superiors they sent her back down to be a test subject. How dare they spurn her genius! In her anger she thought it would serve them right if GLaDOS killed them all. Then BYDTWD occurred...

It had all happened so quickly. A lockdown! Neurotoxin was spreading everywhere and it was killing Mel. Somehow Mel was saved and put into cryogenic storage. The scientists wanted to save her more for her knowledge, they knew she was smart and knew the inner working of GLaDOS, but they never got the chance to awaken her. And so she remained in storage until recently.

MEL

She had been awakened not long ago...she knew that much. But where she was at did not make much sense at all. Unlike most test subjects who would be reawakened in some sort of rejuvenation chamber of some kind she had been awakened in a lab. She knew she had been here once before however. When she was aiding with the Red Phone Plan...she would come into this very room to talk with colleges about the GLaDOS project before it all went down.

Mel had suspected it all along and they had dared to make her a test subject again. They didn't even know. While their backs had been turned she made little improvements here and there to GLaDOS and they dared to spurn her genius and make her a test subject again!? On the inside she was seething about it. Heck on the outside she was shaking. She knew GLaDOS would override her morality core...she didn't even think it would work in the first place. Well the scientists got their just desserts, probably dead from Neurotoxin inhalation. Then again she had inhaled some toxins herself. That's why she was here in the first place. She knew this room wasn't far from the GLaDOS chamber. If the robot was still working she might be able to find out from the source what exactly had happened here...or die trying.

Tying her blue jumpsuit around her waist she began her trek to the chamber which she knew held a sentient Robot. A sentient robot which she had a hand it modifying.
