"You said you would never leave, you lied to me." The words echoed in my mind like someone had just yeled into a cannon. I sat by the window looking out at the silent night sky praying quietly that I could go back in time. Back to when we had each other, back to when we used to push each other off of the dock and into the pond, back to us.

I am Sara-Belle Anderson but everyone calls me Sara. My boyfriend, Alex, and I just broke up. It's terrible and my life will never be the same without him. it took me two months to get over the fact that we were over. And now it just gets worse. Two weeks ago Alex got in a car accident. Thankfully we did not lose him. I don't know why I still care about him but I guess I'm just not ready to get over him.((should I write more? Please tell me!))

"Run? What? C'mon, just tell me your name. Get in the car, I'll call in sick for work and I can take you to the hospital, okay?" Urbana gingerly intertwined her fingers with his, in a friendly manner, and attempted tugging him down the asphalt. But Kallen stayed put, his feet rooted to the ground, a firm foundation.

"We must run," he repeated, his eyes intent on her face. She turned as blue as his hoodie, and smacked her suddenly dry lips.

"Why do you keep saying that? There's nothing to run from..." Her voice was shaky and unsure, nothing strict about the tone. She stared at the ground as if it were her very first love before she glanced back up again. "We can drive."

Kallen shook his head and released Urbana's hand, reminding her that they were still intact. He bolted, his arm's pain lingering, his sense of smell wandering away aimlessly. He felt the warm, sticky redness trickle down his face and arm as his feet cried out in pain from the chase. He couldn't take much more, but the man pressed on. However, as fast as he was running, Urbana's foot was practically created from lead as she hopped in her Toyota and slammed the accelerator. She caught up to the male quickly, and threw the passanger door open, cursing loudly.

"Get in!" She screamed, demanding it. Kallen obeyed by lunging in the car, shutting the door tightly behind him as the duo raced down the tar.

After a chorus of squeals and screeches from the tires and brakes, Urbana slowed the car and began to speak.

"Now, tell me your name and what your deal is."

"I am Kallen. There are people after me," he sighs.

"Crap!" The girl mutters before continuing the conversation. "You're an outlaw aren't you?!"

"No, ma'am, I'm a perfectly fine man. It's the outlaws that're chasing me."

"So, you're a bad cop?" She questions with a smirk.

"Just an ordinary man, ma'am."

"Quit calling me 'ma'am', I'm no oldie, got it? And do me a favor and pull down your hood, you're creeping me out." Urbana scuffs.

"Sorry...girly. No oldie for sure." He chuckles a bit. "But I'm afraid my hoodie will have to stay on." Kallen had his hood wrapped tight around his faces so you could hardly see his face, and along with the darkness of the setting, you couldn't see much but the seemingly blue shirt anyhow.

"Seriously, take the thing off." She retorted.

"I can't, gi-" Urbana cut him off and tore the hood down, and screamed with what she saw. He was /glowing/. The blue of the shirt dissapeared once it slipped off his head; it was the glow from the man that made the clothing look the way it did. He was a teal and black male man, with sharp features and a soft but frightened eye. Kallen cursed angrily and pulled the hoodie back up, surrounding his head.

Urbana's eyes were afixed on the strange beast named Kallen, despite the fact they were on the empty road. Thankfully the world was a lonley place, or they both wouldn't been hurt.

Thank you, GigglePie, Snow~! <3 Your story is great, Giggle, but creepy in a way. You mixed the well-written and fear perfectly. The story makes a great blend^^. And Lennie, howow, that was a fantastic story. Sometimes I think we all feel like the boy.

As Urbana gradually spilled down her plush seat to where she was face to face with the pedals of the Toyota, obviously displaying to Kallen that she had fainted, he jabbed his good arm towards the middle pedal--the brake--and stopped the car. Reaching for the gearshift, to put it in park, he winced.

The passenger door--his door--was open. But no one stood, bloodthirsty, in the darkness. Somehow the noise and the fact that the door was open had passed him. The black air ebbed inside the vehicle as it swarmed the boy's cut. /Oohhh/, how it stung. But this was no black air, of course this had avoided Kallen's thoughts as he was extremely subdued with attempting to reach Urbana to pull her up. As he eventually did so, he turned back to his seat to catch a glimpse of the swirling, putrid blackness. It twirled and twirled like a dance and Kallen watched, awestruck, as it turned into a dark circle of gas hovering in front of him.

As he lay a bulky finger on it, he realized this gas was no gas. In fact, this gas was actually a solid. Kallen returned his finger and stared at it, astonished. It was a purple-blue color, and was freezing. The black circle somehow managed to constrict his digit with out wrapping around it.

This black circle, this /dark/ circle, vanished into thin air as Kallen watched a black haze float to the navy blue sky with the deep purple clouds. Astonished, he quietly shut his door and sat still in the car seat.

Hush.

Slowly .. slowly ..

Hand hovered over Opposite Face.

Gently .. gently ..

Did Hand dare touch it, that beautiful, wonderful female face?

No .. no ..

That sweet face that Kallen gazed at scrunched up and awakened.

"My .. my alarm," Urbana mumbled underneath an intense yawn. "I'm so glad I didn't hear it." She smiled, her eyes still shut, and stretched. Her hand bumped into the car window, and the girl's eyes shot open. She registered in her mind that she was in her Toyota with a blue glowing man sitting next to her, watching intently.

"You!" She squeaked, petrified. He put his finger to his dark lips, shushing her. "What .. what is this?! I thought it was a dream!"

"Please be quiet .." Kallen murmured. He stared at the ground, as if he was trying to concentrate on something.

"Wha--why?! Why should I, Kallen?!" She screamed frantically. Urbana was scared, obviously, and didn't do well with the feeling.

"Those dark clouds carry a dangerous haze that is attracted by noise. This noise must carry out some factor that the haze can calculate where the noise is coming from, and if it can prove that there are human beings that can be attacked easily. As in, a moderate speed and small crowd so things don't become suspicious." Kallen said eventually. He honestly disliked sharing all this information with what he had set as an 'outsider', but she would get her kind of police to take him away if he hadn't told Urbana.

And tests. /Ohhh/, that is what he feared the most. He would be tested upon if a scientist got a grasp on him.

"A haze. That is attracted to noise. And a man. Who glows blue. Am I even awake yet? Maybe this /is/ all a dream .." Urbana said, trying to calm herself.

"But don't your dreams always mean something?" This shut the woman up instantly, to such an extent that she relaxed in her seat realizing that if this was true, and when she would wake up, or what she thought would be waking up, she could help save the world with her knowledge of dark circles.

"Your people .. they die randomly sometimes, correct? On a early morning stroll, perhaps .. no cuts, no wounds, no bruises .. just empty of blood inside when they are found? Am I right?" Kallen continued.

"What do you mean by 'your people'?" Urbana replied, avoiding the question. And /this/ shut the man up. "Are you from another planet?" Kallen began to laugh after she spoke her second piece.

"Like an alien?" He laughed again, forgetting about noise. "No, girly, we were here first. Then your species came, and we allowed you to linger. But when my people become angry that you were using all of this planet's resources, our ruler claimed war. The darkness is from us .. my kind. We brought it. It is our warrior because we will not be seen. It will slowly kill you all .." He trailed off. "It's not supposed to work on our people, but I left my kind--my family--because I thought what they were doing was wrong. I thought we could teach you all our ways, and we could live as a single community. But I was named to be taken away and murdered by my own family when I shared my idea. That is why I am running. That is why I have been spotted by you." Urbana didn't respond, so he kept on with his story. "And the darkness is now attracted to me, even with out noise .. it has been told that I am a major target amoung-side you humans, and that I must die." His mind traveled back to a few minutes earlier when it was silent as he pulled Urbana up into her seat as a dark circle licked his finger.

Urbana stared at him. He had a sad life, she admitted to herself. /But it is a dream, isn't it?/ she thought to herself.

"So it's like .. Armeggedon? The end of the world?" Urbana wondered out loud. Kallen nodded. "But gradual? Slowly?" He nodded again. "Will the haze get worse?"

"Much; the people who are after me will come out after a time. Once enough of you are gone, that is."

"And you're not one of those people?" Kallen nodded another yes. "So you're /not/ going to murder me here?"

Kallen let his eyes dart over her figure; she was gorgeous for her species, and anyway, he let his life's information lay in her palms .. he needed a safe to keep it locked .. he needed a safe for more facts.

"Nah. I think I'll spare you," he chuckled with a smile and looked forward at the road, urging Urbana to start the car. She blushed and put the car in drive, rolling gracefully down the asphalt.

"So," the girl finally said with a smile, realizing how real this was, "I guess I don't wake up?"

I heard the bell ring, singaling the end of the school day. I grabbed my books and stuffed them in my bookbag. I heaved it onto my shoulders and got up, getting bumped into as I went. As I left the classroom, I heard their hushed whispers and saw their ill-hidden pointing. I held my head up high, trying not to show them my pain. So much in fact, I didn't watch where I was going.

" Oof! " I cried as I crashed into a girl. I fell down to the ground, splitting open my bag, and scattering my books and other things around the floor.

" Watch where you're going, you freak! " The girl yelled at me scathingly. After shooting me a filthy look, she stuck her nose in the air and walked away haughtily. Holding back tears, I collected my books and ruined bag. Getting up, I noticed a boy looking at me. Blushing furiously, knowing that he saw the crash, I hurried away. But as I looked behind my shoulder, I saw Paul cast a lingering look in my direction, leaving me confused.

Does he like me? Or is he wondering why I'm so clumsy?

" I'll ask him tomorrow! " I declared, walking home that day.
