"Not available in your region!" Huhhh???

OK so this isn't personally happening to me (I'm in North America region), but it's happening to my boyfriend who is UK, and some others.

In people's signatures/profiles, images are being broken saying "not available in your region." (Screenshots below from my boyfriend)
I was curious, and he is too, why this has been happening?

Made a post on here to see how many people are affected- i'm curious!

if it's the UK, it might have something to do with the new laws there? (the ones that require you to age verify for certain websites)

It's obviously through a certain image hoster that it's happening, but I can't figure out which one

have you tried copying the image link to see the URL? could be a clue <3

this is happening to me!! its on imgur, i cant go on it at all and all the images are broken including profile pictures too :,(

It's happening to me aswell :[ I had a quick look and it looks like it might be something to do with the OSA (Online safety act) :'3

Also from what I can see it's only affecting imgur images (based on the imgur logo in the corner of the "this content isnt viewable in your region" message)

Ohhhh you're probably right!

He says images hosted through Filegarden (aka the ones in my signature) still work, so it's most likely ONLY through Imgur

This was noticed elsewhere, and it is in fact an Imgur problem due to the OSA in the UK.
