response: Without a lead to go to from yesterday’s sudden search the fable decides that today they’ll aim to find answers starting at what was, in retrospect, the most obvious spot to look at, the embassy. As they step foot at the entrance a feeling of déjà vu washes over them… they definitely haven’t been here before. After finding the potential evidence they need, they return once again to the streets to get more familiar with the area whilst giving their best effort to ignore the suspicious alley trying to lure them in. They aren’t stupid enough to go to such a spot to try to find something after what happened the other night, are they? They hoped it wouldn’t need to come to that, even if they could easily fend for themselves with the experience from back home, there was a killer on the loose for crying out loud!

A striking contrast catches your eye, it's light color reflecting the sunlight as you spot an object that just appears to be laying there. As you draw closer you realize the object is a mask. In picking up the mask, you immediately drop it to the ground once again as a warm oozing liquid touches your hand. The ivory mask is covered in ink..? Or is it tar? You aren't entirely sure what the substance is but it has stained your hand nonetheless. Realizing it's too late to avoid getting your hands dirty, you pick it up once again to inspect a little closer. The mask itself is eerie as you look at it, an unsettling feeling making it's way into your stomach. It's detail is too realistic, too intentional. You can't help but notice it's almost giving off uncanny valley vibes.

response: Elias feels like he is playing hot potato with clues here. He has a shard of an elixir burning a hole into his pocket and the imprint of the dagger he left behind scorching his mind. Was he right to leave it behind there? Every second thought is screaming that he should have taken it in as evidence for later. There is no point in returning today for a dagger to taunt him so he takes to the Embassy to search for what the dignitaries are saying about the funeral rites.
