mask design: Star Sparkle's mask is pretty ordinary in shape, covering the eyes (except for eye holes, of course) and half way down her muzzle. However, she has taken advantage of every inch of space to cover the mask in multiple sizes of sequins ✨

the city has taken on an eerily subdued energy today. the buzz of festival activities and merry hoofbeats on cobbled streets have come to a grinding halt as stormire’s residents struggle to come to terms with the loss of a noble heir at their very own ball, within the walls of the city they’d once believed to be a safe haven. rumors have spread like wildfire, of course: some plausible, others utterly ridiculous, moving so fast that their origins are impossible to trace. perhaps you could use today to do a bit of sleuthing around the city? it’s certainly not your responsibility to investigate the murder of a noble from a world you’ve just entered, but you can’t help but feel a tinge of morbid curiosity.

The somber atmosphere was all the town. Ryujin decided to head into the market’s west side to check on how the locals are doing and what is being said. In addition, with the loss of a noble, the embassy might be a bit more chaotic today. Maybe there’s something or someone there that Ryujin can find.

Morning comes far too early for Nathan. Battered and exhausted, he'd much rather stay in today, but mystery has a strong call. He was up far too late, both at the party and the tavern after, his mind unable to get any rest or make sense of it. Nonetheless, he has to persevere if he's to find any closure to yesterday's event. Charging ahead, he starts off with his strongest lead, a clue he stumbled upon when he was leaving the masquerade. A fragment of a green-tinted glass bottle with only the words everdream visible on the label. The tiny object sends him heading back into the dark and damp alleyway where he found it.

As he meanders on his mission, the busy chatter and movement he's grown accustomed to on the streets have come to an eerie halt. Only somber hoofsteps and whispers are exchanged between fables. Through the dull atmosphere, he notes that no one seems to be mourning the lost heir, only speculating and gossiping about the mysterious circumstances. He takes a harsh breath as the inevitable sets in. If he wants to find out more about this Lórien and his house, Lysandor, he's going to have to go to the embassy. Nathan cringes just at the thought of that pompous prison. He's been able to stay out of the grasp of politics for years, but it seems like his streak is about to come to an end. He does find some comfort in the fact that he's not doing this in his homeworld. If he just walked right into Catoryin territory, he'd probably be dead within the hour.
