Eve
Eve tip toed around the halls of the first floor, each step echoing in the empty asylum hall. Eve had only been here just a few days, but was getting used to the whole thing rather quickly. "I like this place. Everyone is so nice." And at that she began to hum "ba ba black sheep". Eve sat down under a window and pulled out the contents of her pockets: Two handfuls of pebbles. She dropped them on the floor and began to arrange them in a circle. Eve rarely counted the same group of objects twice, but when she saw the pebbles, she couldn't help but count them. They were so pretty. Pink, green, blue and red pebbles. Some were smooth and round, others were blocky and jagged. "One, two three, four. five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen!" Counted Eve. She brought her knees up to her chest to hug them and looked at the pebbles the same way you would look at a love letter from a secret admirer.
Odysseus
Odysseus laid on his back in the court yard and watched the clouds pass by. "Look! That one looks JUST like a bunny! Do you see it?" Odysseus said to himself, pointing at the bunny shaped cloud above him. He rolled over and began to scratch the outline of a bunny into the dirt. Ever since he was little, Odysseus had wanted a bunny. Sometimes, when his mom would beat him, Odysseus would manage to escape and would flee to the park. The park was very overgrown and was home to a whole colony of rabbits. Odysseus would watch the rabbits until he felt safe enough to go home. The rabbits made him feel safe.
I've got a glass blown heart. It forgot how to beat.
