Yay! A new member! Welcome to P.A.W.Silverfang wrote:Wolf hunting-- or, at least, the hunting of gray wolves, is completely legal and beneficial to the farmers, the economy, and the wolves themselves. I'm against aerial wolf hunting for the sole reason that it goes against natural selection. Besides, I think a quick bullet to the head is about as kind as death can be.

I can see your point Silverfang, and even though I am against all wolf hunting, if it absolutely has to happen, then yes, I think a 'quick bullet to the head' is alot more humane that aerial wolf hunting.
But still, I think that humans should just let nature control population, the way it has for millions of years and only take negative action if the wolves become a threat to the ecosystem.

Unfortunately, naturally controlled populations are getting hard to find these days. Without humans, the world goes on normally. Elk decrease, wolves decrease-- a balance. But when you add towns and suburbs and ranchers to the mix, wolves, when the run out of elk, simply move into urban areas and prey upon livestock, trash, pets, and, eventually, humans. They adapt and continue to breed and overpopulate. I'm for humane wolf hunting if it prevents overpopulation.

Actually, no, there are other animals more overpopulated than us.
And don't you hear about animal attacks? Saying animals don't kill humans is silly XD Besides, we're actually working to lower our population. The United States is a zero population growth nation. We're actually the only animals that care about our environmental impact.

Rabbits in Australia? Pigs in Hawaii? Gray squirrels in Europe? They should 'care' too, should they not?
Trees have lives. Bacteria have lives. Mushrooms have lives. Should I stop using antibacterial soap?

That's really not what I'm talking about. And isn't that a little bit over board? I'm simply saying that in my opinion, wolves shouldn't be hunted, no matter what. This thread is about saving wolves. If you don't agree, that's fine. But there's no need to be arguing. That's not the point of this thread.

I find it interesting when people say things like this; bringing up irrelevant topics to try and "prove their point". Bacteria and mushrooms aren't sentient beings. And no offence to the pigs and squirrels, but:
1. People brought them there, it isn't their fault and humans are the root of the problem
2. They simply lack the capacity to think about that
3. Too many pigs in Hawaii is not a cause of global warming. Human overpopulation and greed is.
And most of the trees we use for lumber and paper are farmed and planted for that reason.
If you have an issue with soap, I suggest you take it up with the companies that make it, not us.
Also, please try and stay on topic, and, if you came here to cause trouble, go away.
I'm sorry if I seem blunt, but I'm sure that we can act a little more mature than this...
