I really like the Dark Souls trilogy (and Elden Ring). The games are fantastic mechanically, especially the boss designs in DS3 and ER! Never had another game made me feel so good about defeating a boss, or have made it fun sitting there for hours memorising an attack pattern.

On the other end, though, I love Souls games for the emotions -- a lot of it is about being at the lowest point and still not giving up. It helped me a lot when I was going through some rough patches, and even now when I'm feeling a lot better, the small amounts of charm and happiness that can exist in an awful world make me feel hopeful. It's very much the idea that if you persevere, you will succeed.

(Also, I like knights and swords. So what's not to love.)

i accidentally fell into a big transformers rabbit hole a few months ago, because i realized idw rodimus is written almost trait for trait how i imagined my own oc (wzl) to be as a character. now i'm stuck here, for better or for worse. i love overconfident and cocky characters that actually project a lot to hide their insecurities/past wounds. neither of those characters ever shut up when they should + are directly responsible for a lot of the problems that come up in their lives. wzl is very near and dear to me. he's a guy who loves others deeply but isn't aware of the fact. the person he is most dishonest to is himself and he never wants to admit that he's in over his head.

^ i'm that way about hollow knight and nine sols, which do have a bit of that soulslike element. it feels great to patiently work your way up to knocking out a boss or challenge.

v how do you organize your files? are you a keysmash file namer, or do you actually try to have a system for sorting things?

I try to keep my file names as organized as possible, at least so I have some idea of what everything is and how it all fits together if it's all in a folder together. My TTRPG organization system in Google Docs has multiple layers of folders and sub-folders and sub-sub-folders, I'm that meticulous about it. That being said, you should see my IRL stacks of notes...

Almost cried in the office today in front of my boss because someone got upset about something I misquoted again, and this time it wasn't even my fault that the info was wrong. uhh probably one of the capes I've made for myself. I'd argue it's debatable if they actually count as clothing or not because basically all I did was sewed buttons onto pieces of fabric but I like them and the rest of my wardrobe is pretty much just completely unremarkable so I'm counting them. I'm so mad capes aren't socially acceptable to wear in public

im not super big into board games, but my partner and his family are. i find myself playing some of the most obscure things sometimes. they're fun if everyone else knows what's going on, so they can teach me and i can leech off of their intellect. i think the one that stuck with me most was wingspan, mostly bc i wanted to eat the eggs...

yes actually. i hung out with my sister all day today to celebrate my dad's death day. we took his urn out to the park and played, then we went around to several thrift stores to look for a new urn (he is in a plastic box lol). We didn't end up finding one so we just went back to my house and played games for a while. Then we tried to make mashed potatoes... which did not go too smoothly lmao. They did turn out edible and delicious but my bf said we were nasty lol.

^ i should be going to bed because i have work at 3 tomorrow, but i will not. i am addicted to staying up late then being tired my entire shift.
