It was unfortunate that the cats of the apocalypse were all trapped in one building together. Sure, it was a large building - Acornstream had heard the others mention something about this was where they trained the young humans, or something like that - but the cats liked to move around. But there was one cat that Acornstream would rather never see again, someone they go out of their way to avoid; their own mother, Winterdrift.

At first, when they had left TreeClan to find their own place in the world, Acornstream thought Winterdrift had it all figured out; that she was right, that TreeClan was only holding them back. But when the world fell apart, and Acornstream wanted to fix it rather than run from it and never try again, Winterdrift changed. She became hostile, angry, and refused to see any other point of view than her own. Suddenly, Acornstream got a chilling insight into what the reality must have been for his dad shortly before Winterdrift had convinced them to leave. He watched as Winterdrift managed to corrupt Azaleawhisker, his younger sister, still holding onto her. Acornstream knew better - he convinced his other siblings to leave Winterdrift behind, and see that they should reject her ideals.

Now, the apocalypse and the singular building has divided the cats isolated in the school building. Now, Winterdrift is still hauntingly close to Acornstream - too close for comfort. They want nothing less than to be rid of her once and for all, though time has still not given him what he wants; freedom for himself, and for his siblings, away from a controlling mother who never does what is best for anyone but herself.

Tornado still hadn't decided which side this scenario fell into.

It was a late night, and he was getting ready to sleep on his favorite window. It was unnaturally warm for spring, so much so that his humans had left the window open, a gentle breeze ruffling his fur. He loved the smell of the fresh earth, the dirt warming after a fresh rainfall. It was turning out to be a wonderful night of sleep, and Tornado knew that his dreams were going to be filled with thoughts of spring flowers and chirping birds.

Until he heard the hushed meows outside his window, near his garden, from the yard next door - which happened to be Princess's house, the mate of their very own leader of TreeClan.

Curiosity got the better of him, and Tornado found himself peering out into the yard, trying to make out what they were saying. As he honed in his hearing to focus on the voices, he recognized them both; it was Angel, Princess's daughter, and Oatmeal, another neighbor cat. Tornado was just about to forget it, to drift off to sleep, when he finally focused on what they were saying.

"...do I tell them that I want to take out them out to see the sunrise? That I like them?" Oatmeal asked, the nervousness and desperation clear in his voice.

Tornado heard a little chirp of laughter from Angel. "Just ask them to go, silly!" She said. "Hazel isn't going to say no - trust me. They don't talk a lot, but when I do get them to talk, it's been about you for the past few nights. Please! You have nothing to worry about."

The voices faded away as the pair walked away, but Tornado couldn't help but smile to himself. Ah, young love.

Frizz is simply put, a scaredy cat. But ve’s unusually frightened of things that seem uncanny or out of place. Like a misplaced tile or a pile of fur that’s wet and not attached to a cat! Small things like that makes hir the laughing stock of the junkyard.

The biggest thing that scared hir today was…a tree. Not any kind of tree, mind you. It was bent all wrong! Its base had roots thicker than any tree xe ever seen! Worst of all, it’s trunk was drastically bloated…and it was distorted into a grimacing face.

It didn’t help vis case as it was dreadfully dark and stormy. And ve was one hir own…Frizz was scared stiff.

It took a few hours for the search party to find vim, staring blankly at the tree. The party asked them questions as they guided vim to the medic’s den. Nothing but a pathetic squeak came out from hir mouth.

Dolphin hate it when other cats tell them that dolphins are a type of fish. Every time she goes out for a hunt or a research mission, some cat had to mention dolphin and fish in the same sentence. That’s an insult to marine mammals! It swears on the great nymphaea they’re doing it just to bug her! She got into plenty of spats over this. It can’t help it! Dolphin is just too passionate about shoving facts down other cats’ throats about sea life (even if some of them are ignorant shellbrains).
