I'm new to the Writers' Abode!
You can call me: FC / Foxy
My pronouns are: she/her/hers
Here's a bit about me/ my writing journey: Hello all! I'm FC. I've been a writer for much of my life, and I'm happy to say that, as of this year, I'm now pursuing it professionally as a news journalist. Outside of my job, a lot of my writing is for the various TTRPG campaigns that I've been involved with over the years, both as a player and a GM. My most comprehensive work currently is for a D&D campaign setting I'm worldbuilding called Sereima, but I also occasionally write little one-shot scenes featuring my campaign characters and other OCs. I also occasionally write poetry, and have had some of that work published in a literary magazine during my college years.
Anything else? I'm always happy to assist my fellow writers in proofreading, and I love yapping about worldbuilding and character building - both my own, and helping other people with theirs. Don't hesitate to reach out via PM if you wanna talk writing; I don't bite!

What inspired you to start writing?
When I was in fifth grade, I remember that my whole class was sentenced to lunch detention which consisted of everyone standing quietly out in the field, without moving or speaking for the whole lunch recess period. I don't remember what our supposed crime was but I do remember the impotent feeling of rage I had because we were all being punished for something small that not all of us had even done. So in revenge, I made up a story in my head of a giant with a home on their shoulders that walked into the school field and picked me up and took me away to have way more fun then any of my fussy teachers could ever dream of. That particular story stayed with me for many years, and at one point I even typed it out on the family computer about these giants with humans living on their shoulders. Sadly, those stories are lost to that computer as it was the early 2000s and it was already old THEN.
So I guess, you could say both injustice and boredom started me on writing. I've always been sensitive to things being fair, and writing is one of the many ways I explore how to make things fair for as many as possible.

What inspired you to start writing?
My favorite book series is Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland. Her writing really inspired to build my own fantasy world of dragons and other mythical creatures. When I was in school I was quite good at writing, especially research papers but outside of that I'm not really into non-fiction writing (unless it's about dinosaurs I guess heh). Encouragement from teachers, especially my English teachers, got me to continue writing as a hobby and possibly a career one day.

Hello, nice to see you here! Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I totally missed your introduction! A werewolf story sounds cool, maybe make it a short story?
XD hi.
Thank you.
I could probably do that. Maybe.
What inspired you to start writing?Joining a roleplaying website, actually. Then I also found AO3, and started writing fanfics.

What inspired you to start writing?
I wanted to make stories. Since young my parents made me listen to English audiobooks, and I loved seeing the physical books with pretty covers. And often they were in a series, and I found that pretty cool. At some point I decided, hey, I want to make my own book series! Around the same time, I got one of those drawing books you give to little children to teach them how to draw. So I used the drawings in there and some A4 paper to write out my first story. I was probably 4-6 years old then..? In any case, the desire to create stories still keeps me going today.

Can relate to old stories being lost as old computers crashed. </3 And omg what an intriguing way of coming up with a story! Oddly enough I too came up with some stuff while I was in school during breaks/classroom duty or sometimes even during the lessons.
What inspired you to start writing?
I suppose J.K. Rowling may have made me realize that the worlds and creatures I imagined when I felt alone and worthless in school; could become something more than mere thoughts of a lonely child. I started dreaming about becoming like her, at least in terms of publishing books. I didn't want to become famous though, it was much too scary. My mom told me at some point that she had been jobless while she wrote the first book in the Harry Potter series in a notebook (I honestly haven't looked if this is true or not, I only took my mom's word for it and haven't questioned it). With that, I started writing down stuff that happened in the world of my mind and the creatures in it - in a notebook while lying on my bedroom floor. Always thinking; "Now I can be like my idol too!"
But a few years after I started roleplaying instead for a year or two, before later moving in to writing stories and lessen the amount of roleplays I was active in.
Also, a huge part that kept me going was two girls I met online who asked if they could read the story I wrote back then (I used to talk a lot about writing without really sharing any of it because I was too shy). And their encouragement is was partly kept me going, even when I felt like my grammar and spelling was horrific.
