Prompt: The memory was spots of color, and sound, rather than a distinct vision. Riverbreeze always thought about it, hearing the sounds like a gust of wind, seeing the colors in everything around her. The flowers, however, were always the most distinct.
They were in the forest together, her and her daughter. Their journey was long, and they were tired - yet, as a mother, Riverbreeze tried not to let her fatigue show, not wanting her kit to feel scared. Truthfully, Riverbreeze was close to giving up, nearly desperate enough to find a kind enough cat that would take in her daughter so that she could guarantee her safety. Yet, there didn't even seem to be another cat in the area, so onward the pair went.
They kept walking, for what felt like forever, the chatter slowly dissipating between the two cats. The boundless energy of the younger cat also seemed to finally leave, her tail dragging on the ground.
Riverbreeze was ready to stop, to curl into a nest and let a new day wash over the pair of them tomorrow, hoping for better results from their journey, when they came across a meadow. It was full of flowers, enough to take the pair's breath away in the best way possible. Finally, a break from the trees. Finally, something that reminded both mother and daughter that there was peace in the world. The ambled into the middle of the meadow, and shared a peaceful moment together, until Riverbreeze dozed off surrounded by the bright colors, letting the sound of her daughter's humming wash over her before she drifted into a finally peaceful sleep.
The night of peace didn't last long. When Riverbreeze awoke, the flowers remained - but her kit was gone. She searched for days in the meadow and surrounding forest, but never managed to find her. Riverbreeze has vowed to never stop searching, and still finds herself visiting flower meadows and picking flowers in honor of her lost kit.
