If you have none, then tell me about a time you exhibited good moderation skills: I was a moderator in a small community art based server, although the server is now closed I held the moderator role for approximately 6 months and was looked to as a general mediator

two users are in a heated disagreement in the discord. User A is upset because User B did not accept their trade proposal, and is vaugeing them publically. User B finds out, and confronts them. The argument is charged and is moving fast. How do you handle this situation?: I ask them to move it into a private group chat with me invited so I can help them figure things out without harmful words or actions taking place, I would assure user A that not everything will go as they planned and that they will get more opportunities to trade in the future, I ask user B to refrain from confronting people in the public channels and ask them if they have any more issues they should talk it out privately or ask a moderator.

After reading the rule, you realize that the clarity is a bit messy and that you don't quite understand it either. How do you handle this encounter?: I reach out to the owner/poster of the rule and ask them to explain to me what the rule is, I then, if I can, edit the rule and explain to user A the revised rule. I then make a small announcement of the new/updated rule so everyone in the server understands.

If you have none, then tell me about a time you exhibited good moderation skills: I've never moderated a server, but I spent about 5 combined years working in retail and having to make sure that customers were taken care of and that staff was treated well.

How do you handle this situation?: I would politely ask both users to delete their messages on the server and put them, myself and potentially another moderator in a private dm to try and mediate the situation privately. I would explain to User A that trades have to consented on both sides, and if a user no longer wants to trade that vaguing them publically is not the appropriate way to express those feelings of dissapointment. I would then ask User B to inform the moderator team if something like this happens again instead of confronting it publically.

If you have none, then tell me about a time you exhibited good moderation skills: probably too much at this point, LOL. i have moderated for several CS-based communities and UMAs as well as twitch streams and large discord servers (both CS related and not). notable positions include Cozies and Sweetens. i have moderated for both small servers of 10-50 and also large servers of 1000+, and i've run UMAs of my own.

have you ever been canceled, banned, asked to step down, or otherwise received any disciplinary actions due to your behavior in a community? If so, what happened?: only for inactivity, but that was a few years ago. no bans.

How do you handle this situation?: a public, polite direction to bring the issue to a staff member in private would be the first step, as well as a request to move on from the topic publicly. if the direction was ignored, either a second verbal warning or a temporary mute would follow, depending on the severity of the conversation. it would also be important to follow up with each user in dms to come to a resolution, and take further disciplinary action if necessary.

I’ve been a moderator and archiver for Marumis since its early days, giving me a strong foundation in community management and organization. During this time, I have also contributed to the development of fun and engaging events—something I truly love doing. Brainstorming creative prompts, coordinating threads, and finding ways to make the community feel lively and welcoming are some of my favorite parts of the role.

In addition, I currently run my own UMA called Pawxels. While it's a smaller UMA, I take pride in maintaining a clear, organized, and smooth-running group. These experiences have helped me build a strong sense of fairness, clarity, and community engagement—skills I’d love to bring to your sluggums team.

I’d step in quickly to de-escalate before things get worse. First, I’d move the conversation out of public chat—either into DMs or a private mod ticket—so it doesn’t affect the rest of the server. I’d remind both users of the rules around vagueposting and respectful behavior, and give them space to share their sides calmly.

From there, I’d help mediate the misunderstanding and make sure everyone feels heard while reinforcing boundaries. If needed, I’d issue a gentle warning or reminder and keep the rest of the mod team in the loop. I've seen situations like this come up in species servers, and I believe the goal is to always aim to handle them with patience and fairness.

I’d let the user know I totally understand their confusion and that the rule could definitely use some clearer wording. I’d be honest that I’m not 100% sure either, but I’d tell them I’ll check in with the rest of the team and get back to them as soon as I have the right info.

Once I have an answer, I’d explain it to the user in a clear way and thank them for pointing it out. I’d also suggest we reword the rule so others don’t get confused in the future—it’s a great chance to make things better for everyone.

I'm a rather slow artist but I do think I'll comfortably be able to reach the 4-8 slug requirement if nothing major comes up!! Especially as time goes on and I get more comfortable working with the lines, that will definitely help me speed up!
