    Owner: the legend leg
    Name: Alaric

    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀PART ONE.
In a land surrounded by slanted mountains tipped with snow and swaying hills of pale green, there was a herd that mimicked the snowy landscape and lived unbothered. A colt was born to a mother, a prince was honored to his father, and a new soul was delivered to these lands of peace.

He had hues of brown and red that looked like the leaves of trees in autumn, but he did not resemble the wintery landscape. And that caused chaos and concern.

      His name is Alaric.

Alaric lived his foal years with judging eyes from elders and was always careful of his step- not just because of his unruly coat, but he was the heir to the herd. Eyes always haunted him.
The only peace he sought was the dancing of the clouds. Their swaying and spiraling within the endless void across the sky. While being groomed to lead like his father, he always kept his mind light and free so he could be morphed by the wind too.

PART ONE + TWO

    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀PART TWO.
The yearling's birthday came and it was time to start the transition and replace his father, but for the first time in his life, he hesitated. In order to replace his father according to traditions, Alaric would need to fight him out of the herd and off the mountain. He didnt fly with the wind today, he pushed against it and finally felt the cool breath of the mountains on his coat. Alaric realized in that moment, you can speak up for yourself; you dont have to adapt to watchful eyes- you do what you feel is right in your soul.

I can not fight you,” is all it took to make the elders blow up into chaos.

    “Is he even your son?”
“He doesnt look like our ancestors!”
“If he cannot continue tradition, he will become a plague to our history.”

The echoes of angry voices caused the earth to rumble. The wind spoke to Alaric and now it was his turn to make a decision: So he left.

PART THREE

    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀PART THREE.
The wind blew at his backside while he strided down the mountain into the surrounding hillscape. He still felt the coolness physically, but mentally was more at ease with it guiding him into the unknown.

Alaric traveled so far west past the plains and the wetlands, he found a desert that burned with fire. The sand was so red hot it felt like hell itself. He wandered into the dry land until he could not breathe, feel, or remember what cool air felt like. This is where the wind blew him though, why was he here?.. The sky was empty, yet there was a deep rumble. Large storm clouds were rolling out of thin air- dark, gray, and heavy. They covered the sun and while the light faded away, rain fell. It was cold, much colder than the wind but it felt so refreshing in this drought. Alaric watched the water dripped down his body; how it rolled down his withers, down his legs, and studied the rising steam when the liquid made contact with the heated sand. When he looked back up into the distance, there was a black mare standing in front of him. She had white legs and unique brown striping along her chest- looks like a body shield. Where did she come from? The rain had drenched Alaric’s body thus far and started getting in his eyes. He blinked and shook his head only to make his vision even blurrier. Seconds later, the rain was gone.

The clouds were gone. The mare was gone. But he did not notice the imprint from wet sand at his hooves

Maybe he's hallucinating? Or it was a dream and hes traveling the dreamscape now? He continued, nevertheless, following the sun.

The sun is his shepard, his guide, his protector- the sun. The Sun. "The Sun."

The sun is his shepard, his guide, his protector- the sun. The Sun.

The sun is his shepard, his guide, his protector- the sun. The Sun.

PART FOUR

    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀PART FOUR.
The desert landscape is so beautiful, and deadly. Beautiful and.. Deadly.

Alaric found a lush island of palms and sparkling, crystalline water. Hes so infatuated with shade and escaping the watchful eye of the Sun, he didnt notice the skulls that litter the undersides of plants- wait, what was it about watchful eyes? He couldnt remember.

He paddled into the small body of water and it wasnt as cool as he expected. The water was still warm..

"How is the water? Its so cool and refreshing, isnt it?"

Alaric looks around and finally spots his companion: another mare. This one is black, again, but with golden lacing and white accents throughout her body that are quite beautiful.

"The water is.. Cool and refreshing, yes."

The mare joins him in the water and the ripples sparkle against her midnight coat. She circles around him, leaning into his body, and whispers into his ear, "Go home," in a monotone voice.

As his shock startles him into a panic, there is no one next to him. No one and no thing- no trees, no shade, and most definitely, no water. Just his sweat pooling between his folds and soft skinned joints.

PART FIVE

    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀PART FIVE.
Such strange memories he is having- are they dreams, nightmares, surely they cannot be real.

Alaric focuses on the sun. What is it about this sun? His head begins to throb.

In a panic voiced, "The sun is too much, I must go home- Where is home?"“ He stares out into an empty void of dirt and hot air-

"AIR. The wind! The wind is my home!"

Thats right, mountain one. The wind is your home and the sun is mine. You do not belong here,” says another black mare from behind him. Her tone is basic and straight, no emotion, pure facts. She has a white face and her coat glistens with white hairs against black ones- the contrast is stark.

I do not belong here. Where is the wind? “ Alaric asks, unsure if the mare will understand, but she is gone. He’s looking out into the distance trying to remember where to go and falls into a tunneled spiral. His vision starts blurring and passes out.

He understands now. The rumble from the mountain when his herd was in chaos, that was for them to listen to, not him. They were in the wrong.

    I must go home.

Alaric turns his back to the sun and runs. He doesnt know how much time he has spent in the desert or away from his home lands but that is where he will get back to.

He doesnt know it, but his coat has grayed like his moms, not his dads knightley, white body. He is not only his fathers prince but his mothers son.
