i agree that you should attempt to finish fontaine, personally it's my favorite story quest! and also agree about building zhongli, i cannot stress how much a decently built zhongli is like playing genshin on easy mode. he's in 90% of the teams i put together

as for your team, if you're having trouble with those characters specifically it may be there's some synergy issues. yanfei, tighnari and ayato are all main dps characters, and to get the most use out of their abilities they want to be on the field for the majority of the fight. i'm happy to help with team/build suggestions if you ever want it

there's no wrong way to play genshin though so if you enjoy using them together then please keep doing so! i have a lot of characters that i've built in different ways then intended haha

Yeah the good thing about Genshin is that its power creep is not nearly as bad as other games such as Star Rail or even Wuthering Waves - the "end game" content will probably not be friendly to you as a result of being away for so long and thus not having any of the characters that can take advantage of the new mechanics, but all of that is completely optional and not a part of the story at all! The actual overworld enemies and story battles are all f2p and returning player friendly, and most especially in Natlan give you the characters needed as trials (and said trial characters are actually well built). You can also always lower your world level by one if you feel you're having difficulty! All the enemies will drop down in level and what not when you do but your characters will remain the same level they are currently, which can help if all you want to do is get through the story!

is anyone else super excited for the special program in a couple days?



this image has me unbelievably hype seeing all of the most lore-heavy characters from mondstat. it's been so long since we've been back there for anything major! i've been playing since 1.0 and this is the first time in a long, long time that i've anticipated a new update this much. the dragonspine event stories with albedo have been some of the most compelling plots in the game, so i really hope this picks up on some of that.

it's a shame that the eng voices of mondstat characters most likely won't be back but i think i'll enjoy it anyways!

I’m hyped!!!!! I think this will be the first special program announcement I will try to catch in a couple of years. I’m also a 1.0 player and Albedo has been my favourite character since he was released, I am so so happy to see him back!!


Edit you can consider trying out Chinese voice as well. The voices for the characters are really fitting and good!

I haven't actively played Genshin for possibly a year now (or it's felt like that at least); I got so burnt out by the aranara and the sumeru story was so boring to me (always felt the story peaked at liyue at that point) so I just put it down and haven't picked it back up — didn't even replace it with another gacha til Infinity Nikki released — except for the last Lantern Rite but even that I didn't finish because of the lack of eng voices.

But! A Monstadt update might just be enough to bring me back! If it's anything like the dragonspine story I'll enjoy it, and it'll be fun being back with Kaeya and Albedo.
Definitely going to switch voice pack, only getting to hear Paimon and practically no one else was driving me insane.

Yeah as soon as it became clear we'd lose more voices before we gained them back, I switched to the CN. I'm honestly enjoying the game so much more. Paimon's voice was really starting to grate on me and I haven't liked her eng voice actor for years due to them being extremely rude to my best friend at a con, and I had some issues with a few voice direction decisions long before voices started getting muted entirely. Switching really sparked my joy in the game back quite a bit!

the trailer was really nice, i'm looking forward to the story!! also really really great news that there's an inazuma chronicled wish banner coming, that means the other nations will most likely follow suit.
not saving up for anyone in particular rn though, i just got xilonen's signature and the new characters don't excite me too much so i*m probably waiting to c2 some of my favourites.
