Normal as in 'most users get more'? No.
Normal as in 'many users are unlucky every year?' Yes.

I've had so many bad years, one of them with no animal egg well into the hundreds. And the next event with too many for my liking. While a friend of mine consistently gets more animal eggs than me every single year despite not even collecting them XD
