"The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there." She gave him a wry smile.
"As with all foreign countries, though, its customs can be learned." His jaw was set, his voice determined.
She looked over him slowly, her red eyes thoughtful. "I suppose so."
"So you'll take me on?"
She cocked her head, her black hair, streaked by white, slipping out from the black bowler hat perched upon her head. "Yes." She held out her hand, her black cloak slipping back to reveal the dark, swirling tattoos covering her arms. He grabbed her hand and felt a rush of coconut-scented air whoosh past him. As she tugged him into the darkness enveloping them, her voice echoed in his ears.
"Welcome to time travel, apprentice."
I'll write more if anyone's interested. :3

I was in the middle of typing this last night, although the power decided to go out >_>

I laughed childishly as Lance ran his fingers over my sides, tickling me. I squirmed to try and remove myself from his grasp, but it was all but helpful. I laughed until my sides and stomach hurt. I couldn't take it anymore.
"L-L-Lance!" I laughed trying to push the man's fingers away.
"Hm?" asked Lance, grinning innocently.
"S-s-to..OP!" I exclaimed, squirming more.
"Sorry? I didn't catch that, love." Lance responded.
"Stop!" I repeated, more clearly this time. Lance chuckled, slowly dropping his hands and resting them on my hips. I smiled, wrapping my arms around his neck as I leaned up to kiss the man. "I love you." I told him, frowning as I heard him sigh. "What?"
"You shouldn't. I'm not human, love. You could never have a normal life with me." Lance answered, looking down at me with his purple eyes.
"That sucks." I replied with a small shrug, I received a chuckle in response.
"Oh, Samantha, what am I do with you?" Lance grinned.
"Marry me." I said bluntly. I felt his muscles tighten around me.
"What?" Lance asked, almost a whisper.
"Marry me." I repeated, "We can run away together."
"Samantha.." Lance began, but a deep voice sounded over the courtyard.
"Samantha!" The voice boomed. Father. Great.
"I'll be back." I said, kissing him once more before I dropped my arms and turned away. I picked up the skirt to my long gown and ran across the soft green grass- barefoot, to our large house. I glanced over my shoulder once, spotting Lance watching me leave. He stood there until we were out of each others sights. The moment I turned my head forwards I spotted father, and a tall- broad man standing beside him. Before I had a chance to stop I crashed straight into the unknown man. We both toppled over, he caught me in such a way so I landed on top of him. I felt my face flush as I stated down onto his eyes, I quickly got up adjusting my dress. "Forgive me.." I began, trailing off as I did not know his name.
"Dante." The man answered, pushing himself to his feet- offering me a smile in which I returned.
"Forgive me, Dante." I said, although he held up his left and and shook his head.
"No, forgive me, Samantha. The fault was all mine." Dante responded. He knows my name?
"Samantha." Father said in his usual deep, powerful voice. "Samantha," Father repeated- likely looking for my attention. I simply turned my head and gaze towards him. "This is the man your mother and I have arranged for you to marry." He stated gesturing to Dante. I suddenly felt as if the whole world was being weighed on my shoulder, and I felt an uncomfortable feeling in my stomach.
"Marry?" I whispered.
