guest staff info!

ଳ there is a trial period of two months as a guest staff member, after these two months it will be decided whether or not you join the team, if you don't make it the first time you are more than welcome to try again in the future!

ଳ as a staff member you are required to handle things within the species without personal bias

ଳ guest artists are required to make at least ~4-8 sluggums per month during their trial period to be considered for official artist

ଳ guest item artists are required to make at least ~3 items during their trial period to be considered for official item artist

ଳ it's a little harder to judge the activity of a guest mod, so over the course of two months your overall staff activity will be monitored(eg. verifying users in the discord, helping users on discord or cs, handling pms or questions, etc.)

ଳ all guest staff will earn one staff custom slot per active month of your guest trial

ଳ there is no monthly minimum activity requirement to remain a staff member, but inactivity of 3 months or more without notice and you'll be contacted about reviewing your position. you are free to contact boogiebug if you plan to be inactive for longer than a month so they are aware of inactivity

ଳ guest staff may not offer recolors to trade for other sluggums or UMAs

ଳ artist entries must be entirely original. Color-ins of previous designs, OCs, or copywritten characters are not allowed, and will not be accepted

ଳ there must be at least two artist entries to be considered for guest staff, one without line edits and one with your own line edits

If you have none, then tell me about a time you exhibited good moderation skills: I don’t have much experience moderating anything other than a few groups I’m apart of on other sites, but I’m interested in this position in hopes to become more involved with the people and help out where I can. I’d like to think I have decent people skills, and am good at resolving conflicts, which I’ve done many times irl as well as in-game. (Sorry, I can’t really think of an appropriate example right now…)

two users are in a heated disagreement in the discord. User A is upset because User B did not accept their trade proposal, and is vaugeing them publically. User B finds out, and confronts them. The argument is charged and is moving fast. How do you handle this situation?: (I’m not sure what “vaugeing” is but I’m pretty sure I know what you mean-) Speak to both users individually. I would message user A, explaining that their behavior is not acceptable and have them explain why they’re so upset, in their own words. And then I’d message user B to get their side. I would also compare their stories to the public messages sent and take action depending on the intensity of the situation. If it’s a first offense, I would time them out, second would result in a kick, and third would be a ban from the discord. (These would be my personal actions in my own server, but can and will be adjusted accordingly.)

If you have none, then tell me about a time you exhibited good moderation skills: I used to moderate for 5 servers a few years ago, all art community related. These servers ranged from as small as 50 to as big as 500, though most of them have become active and no longer need my moderating. I was head admin for 1 server until I stepped down from my position due to personal reasons.

If so, what happened?: The only time I've received any sort of disciplinary action was when another moderator had a personal issue with me and admins asked us both to step down until it was settled. We were both reinstated as mods after we talked out the issue.

I would issue temporarily time-outs to the two users who are arguing and then send private messages to the users as to why they have been time-outed and when they'll be let out of time-out. Then I would discuss with other staff if the users require further disciplinary action; if no other action is needed, then the users will be taken out of time-out and told to avoid doing it again in the server and to take personal issues to private messages.

How do you handle this situation?: i personally would reach out to both users privately, asking them both what happened, and hear both sides. i would explain (privately) to user a that public (and private) bullying in that sense is not something that sluggums
appreciate / stand for, and will otherwise not be tolerated within our community. i would let the appropriate person (whether it be owner/more knowledgable mod) know of my conversation with user a, and if warranted, issue them a strike/ban (according to what owner/more knowledgable mod says). i would then encourage user b (privately) to let mods know in advance if there is any strife between other users, and also explain that adding more heat to the fire won't help either party. i would suggest that they choose to not argue more with user a, and, again report to the appropriate person.

How do you handle this encounter?: i would let them know that i will reach out to someone who does have the answer/clarity, then reach out to whoever made the rule and ask for clarity. once given the answer, i would let user a know what they said. i would also let the person know who wrote the rule that it had confused a user, so they could edit the rule to have more clarity if they wanted to. (:
