have you been a moderator for any other UMA?
I have not, this is me trying out something new, though in the past I was the owner of a UMA which was essentially the same thing though it's not an active UMA I'm apart of and have given the rights of ownership back to the previous owner as I had a lot going on personally.
This being said, I am a moderator on another server and have been for about 4-5 years!
why do you want to be a moderator on our team?
I want to be a Moderator for your UMA because I see so much great potential, plus I love dinosaurs but this doesn't really matter, I want to be Moderator because I believe I have the skills qualified to help your UMA be the best it can be! Me liking dinosaurs and seeing potential in the UMA is just a bonus!!!
how will you go about handling low-concern incidents?
(keeping things on-topic, guidance, reminders):
For all three of the examples, they'd be very simple to remedy, I'd just gently guide them where they should post, and if reminders are needed, I'll be there to help out when I can!
how will you go about handling high-concern incidents?
(public arguments, harassment, theft):
I usually run by the three strikes your out rule depending on the severity.
Arguments would be quelled by telling them that they need to stop, and depending on the argument at hand, I'd request them to make a ticket and/or I'd put them both in the silent room (which no one but staff would see) and ask them to communicate what the issue is so that I can help resolve it. Arguments are natural and human so I'd be more light about this but firm, requesting them to DNI with each other and to block each other so that there is a visual barrier between them. This being said, if it turns into the offender activity attacking them, then the harassment rules will apply.
For harassment, this would typically get the three strike rule depending on the severity, but usually I only give one chance as I don't take Harassment lightly. Usually on the lighter side, the offender would be requested to DNI and to block each other (told again if this resulted from an argument with the user) and I'd give a watchful eye. On the more severe side, this would usually call for a temp ban, more severe cases resulting in a full on ban from the server and I'd ask the person being harassed to tell me when it happens again personally as I take the person receiving the harassment seriously. No one deserves to be harassed and I want the person to feel safe in the community.
If it keeps continuing however, this usually would result in a full on ban from the UMA as the only way they'd be able to harass is by literally attacking them here on CS and actively have to hunt said person if they have blocked you. Such deranged behavior is unacceptable.
For art theft, I consider that unacceptable regardless big or small, though they'd still get the strike system, though usually I'd only give a single chance as it's far easier to just not steal art. This being said if requested to do the three chance rule, I will do so. I'd usually delete the offending art and tell them to not steal art (this goes for AI art as well as in the servers I moderate, we don't allow AI art to be posted). On the three strike system, if they do it again, they'd get the art removed again and a first strike on their account and get reminded to stop, done again, rinse and repeat, told to stop, they'd get another more severe strike and their image posting rights revoked for a week, third time done, banned from the server, which presumably would be banned from the UMA.
This being said, I'm flexible and if there is a certain way you want things done, I will do it as you favor!
anything extra you'd like us to know?
I'm typically on most the day, and if I'm not on, a ping is usually all that's needed as otherwise I'd be doing art!
I'm very excited to help out any way I can!!!
