I don’t honestly mind either way. It would be fun to have the setting be there, though.
I’m okay with having humans. Luka is meant to be a human and I was considering using him/them.

I’ll probably add this dude/ human as well. His name is Arlo!

And cool, I’ll have Nyx send out some invitations for visitors or something then! Maybe a few letters could have gone to the old addresses of some her old friends then, since she probably has some supernatural pals that would need to move quite frequently so they don’t get found out by their neighbors. That could be a good way to accidentally involve some regular humans haha. I might add another regular human too if it’s not too hard to juggle everyone :3

Ooo, nice. That would be great, because I don’t think I’d be able to make a starter post. So if you do that as like a starter post, that could be good. Or I could just do a starter post that involves those letters that she sent out.

I named my cat girl, but I’m trying to figure out what to name werewolf boy. If you have any name suggestions, please throw them at me. I’m tempted to just name him after a tree or something.

(Starting post, mostly to add some context/worldbuilding since I need to go to bed again ^^’ I’ll add Arlo a little later since he’s going to be late haha. Hope this is all ok and that it gives you enough information to make some posts for your characters or make up something of your own! And oooh, I’m excited to meet her haha. Do you have a preference for a first letter of his name? To me, he seems like someone who would have one starting with an S or T. Maybe Theo, Tobias, or Sebastian? Silvanus is also apparently the Roman name of the god of forests, if you’d want to play around with that a bit?)




[Nyx’s mansion - a warm spring day - early evening]



Nyx & Spider・??? ・ Witch & cat familiar・Mansion Owner・location/tags: front sitting room/open

𝔗he dark-haired witch sat comfortably in an old plush and wooden armchair, residing in a room next to the entryway. She had settled for a spot in the house that had an easy access to the front door while her familiar, Spider, crouched on the end of the staircase railing. His light green eyes were wide as they stared through a small window in the heavy umber door, his tail swishing behind him.

Nyx had, after all, sent out a notice— or invitation, to those of the more vampiric variety. One that inquired about the plans of her supernatural friends and offered them a place to stay, for an undetermined period of time. The witch was an owner of an old Victorian mansion with lots of rooms that rarely had much use aside from her and the occasional visitor, and it was high time she entertained some other supernaturals, so to speak. Either old friends or those who had yet to meet the witch and her business of spells, charms, and artifacts. Perhaps, even, she could find an apprentice to teach some of her recipes. These thoughts had her getting ahead of herself though.

The woman daintily lifted the cup of tea sitting on the small table next to her and took a sip. The house was already beginning to sound lively with the chatting of the twin vampires upstairs, and there would surely be more to follow. For now, she would wait to greet any guests who had planned to arrive that day.

Estelle・??? ・ Vampire・Mansion Visitor・location/tags: upstairs guest room/ Gilbert, open

“Take your trunk out of my room!” Estelle complained loudly enough for her sibling to hear through the wall next door. Although the travel trunk was large and heavy, carrying such a thing was no challenge to one with vampiric strength— much less so when one only had to bring it a few feet over to the next room. Estelle was the responsible one per usual, having already packed the bulk of her belongings for her stay. Both sibling had plenty of possessions back in their own family house, however their own adoptive parents were holding a council of their own with some relatives, colleagues, and friends, and such an ordeal would have only given the two far more chores and socializing than Estelle at least had done in the last decade. Nyx’s letter had arrived at the most opportune time, then, and with a few heartfelt goodbyes, the two blondes were out the door. What a perfect excuse, Estelle thought, and a good chance to catch up with the resident witch.

Finally having enough of her brother’s stalling, Estelle took matters into her own hands and nudged the other’s trunk outside her door with a nudge of her foot and returned to fall back on her bed. It was comfy and soft, and while she had tried to add some cute accessories to the coffin she usually slept in, it was certainly not the most spacious box in the world. Estelle had been careful to check the windows and make sure no light could get through the curtains, and as she now lay on top of her fur-lined cloak, the vampire couldn’t help but close her eyes for a moment. It had been nearly half a century since they were there last, and with all of the (admittedly similar-looking) houses she had been in, it might be good for her to learn her way around again. Exhaling a sigh through her nose, Estelle’s blue eyes flicked open and she wandered out her room to lean against a balcony. Down below was another, larger and fancier sitting room than the front, and her attention now trailed over the historic but pristine lounges, bookshelves, and fireplace.

Gilbert・??? ・ Vampire・Mansion Visitor・location/tags: upstairs guest room/ Estelle, open

“In a minuteee-!” Gilbert called back to his sister, attentively arranging all manner of bottles, books, writing utensils, collections, clothing, jewelry, and even a few handheld video game-related items he was recently puzzling over. As opposed to his sister, who only brought one trunk, Gilbert had brought three full trunks of knickknacks and trinkets he supposedly couldn’t live without, even for the few months they would be residing there. And now he was finding each object its own special place, where it may or may not stay for the remaining weeks. The vampire was a bit indecisive when it came to such things, and especially if some of their more sticky-handed acquaintances showed up, then some of the items may very well find themselves locked once again in one of his trunks. The blond hummed to himself as he wound a music box and set it on a desk, his own bat-like cloak fluttering a little as he left to drag in the final box to the end of his bed. This one could wait for later.

Gilbert took this pause in unpacking to carefully peer underneath his bed, which now housed a napping raccoon (who he thought was a lemur), and make a clicking sound with his mouth. This caused the small critter to slowly open one eye, and then the next, before begrudgingly padding over. Pepper, the raccoon who had now yawned and curled up in Gilbert’s arms to sleep once again, had not been present the last time they had been there, and the vampire boy was interested in letting her check out the grounds around the mansion. Although the two were not the best of friends exactly, they still came to an understanding of each other’s preferences, and Gilbert was not about to force a wild animal to stay indoors with him for their entire stay. Pepper would also not come to any harm or get lost with her status as a familiar.

Gilbert was swift in bringing his pet down to one of the side doors that was now shrouded in shadow from the waning day, gently setting the animal on the ground despite her gripping onto his vest in protest. She had just found a new warm spot to nap only to have it dashed, although this goal was forgotten as Gilbert gently scratched her ears. “You know where my room is when you’ve finished exploring for the day, and how to contact me if you need to.” He assured, and then stood up, glancing to the front drive curiously. Although he couldn’t step into the light that currently lit up the front steps, he could at least catch a glance at any newly arriving guests as Pepper scurried off to find something to eat.

Nikolav・27・ Werewolf・Mansion Visitor・location/tags: On the way to the mansion/ open

Nikolav’s brow creased almost as much as the peculiar piece of paper that was sitting on the dashboard of his car, giving directions to a location that was private, had little information online aside from the satellite view, and was perhaps even nonexistent save for the presence of the letter. An invitation, to be exact. One that Niko would have easily blown off as a stupid prank, had he not been recently dealing with a certain… condition… that he had thought only existed in fantasy. Lycanthropy was certainly not something most of the results in search engines online were very serious about, and even his day job as a veterinarian’s assistant had not taken his inquires seriously despite the location being the ultimate cause of his affliction. He had been one of the ones to handle a very surprised (and large) patient that had been mistaken for a husky, accidentally bit him, and had seemingly slipped away when no one was looking (creating an easy escape for a somewhat disguised person to leave out the front door). That was how Niko reasoned the incident went down, at least, as he had now known he was a werewolf for the past few months.

This led to an interesting note that had found its way into his mailbox, and as suspicious as it was, it was the only thing that Nikolav could turn to for potential answers. The admittedly very little information he could find about this “Nyx” online was also all strangely positive, and as weird as the mansion looked, it was still very well-kept as the platinum blonde pulled into one of the few open areas outside. He’d have to send his location to one of his closer friends or family members in case he Did get kidnapped, but his fingers were crossed that it was just a normal house with a normal person. Worst case scenario, they were in the middle of the woods and he could take off a as a wolf, so long as this wasn’t some weird kind of werewolf hunt.

With a deep breath, Nikolav unlocked his car door and stepped outside.

( Lol, Kay. I almost want to have Luka be late too…but maybe I shouldn’t. XD it’s all great. XD glad you’re excited for that. Hmm…honestly no. Okay, I definitely like Theo, but Silvanus sounds so cool too. Maybe I could name him Silvanus Theo (that would be a middle name) ? They could just call him Theo.

Also, I don’t like odd numbers. So I’m probably going to add a Kitsune (who is the Tanuki’s owner.
Ooo, or I could just give that Tanuki a human form instead of having them as a pet.)

The redhead wagged her white tipped fluffy tail a bit. She then glanced down at the dog at her side, whom wore a demisexual flag patterned bandana. She smiled as she watched the dog. They also had a cute accessory around their one ear. The little heart accessory was the colors of a trans flag. She smiled as she placed a hand on the head of the liver or chocolate, red and white dog. Their tail curled over as usual. The dog with the large ears woofed softly, then glanced over at Kina, with those beautiful heterochromatic eyes.

She then looked to the dogs paws. He’d cat, Sulu, a black and white Japanese bobtail, weaved between the dog’s legs. She giggled as she watched the two of them, then shook her head. The redhead glanced to her friend, Kina, for a moment. She smiled at her, then shook her head when Kina waved her off. She watched Kina take off towards some of the other rooms. Jessel almost rolled her eyes…but she stopped herself from doing so. Instead, she glanced around the hallway they’d been in. She hummed as she looked up the large walls of the mansion. Well, tall was probably the better word for it. She shook her head at herself. She and the dog and cat then began to wander, soon stumbling upon the room where Nyx was at.

She stared around the front sitting room a moment. Then blinked as she noticed the dark haired woman that seemed to be having tea there. Sava stayed by Jessel’s side, but Sulu began to approach Spider. Jessel noticed how attractive the woman was and swallowed…then shook her head and said “H…Hello.”

The woman brushed at her long golden-brown hair. The ends of it were dyed a teal looking sort of color, and her outfit was two tops. The bottom shirt was teal, the one over top was an off-the-shoulder top. It was dark green, and she had a silver ‘halo’ on one ear. She also had small red horns, and golden cat like eyes. She also had scars on her neck..but nothing to worry about. She jerked as she heard someone yelling…Her ears twitched rapidly, and her tail lashed back and forth. She then glanced to her friend. Before waving her off, then rushing up towards the guest rooms that were up there. She took her luggage along, and also had presence of mind to get Jessel’s. Her friend wasn’t following her up here, so she took Jessel’s stuff too. She went to one of the guest rooms. One that had been assigned to them, if that’s what Nyx had done, or just an open room. She put her stuff in there, then took Jessel’s to another room. She safely placed Jessel’s stuff in there, before coming back out.

Just in time to see a girl nudge a trunk out of a room with her foot. She tilted her head as the foot then went back into the room. Her ears continued to twitch and move around. Her tail flicked back and forth still, but wasn’t lashing with irritation or agitation now. She blinked those slit-pupiled eyes. Tilting her head as she stared at the room that young woman was in. She was half feline, so she had a good sense of smell. She could smell these two had the typical scent of vampires…Which means they could be thousands of years old, and she’d never know. She wasn’t going to ask the girl he’d age. It was rude to ask a lady her age. Even though they happened to both be girls, so maybe it wouldn’t actually matter. Plus, they weren’t exactly humans. Human women were so strange to her, not wanting to be asked their age or other such things. She shook her head a couple times, and reached out her hand. Touching the door then knocking at it, saying “Hello?” to the lady within, and noticing a Neko Fairy also in the hallway.

The Neko Fairy had gone to one of the rooms upstairs. He’d been taking his stuff out of his luggage, to get settled into the room. However, as he heard a female yelling, he jumped a bit. He then heard a male sounding voice seem to call back. The feminine male shook his head a couple times. He brushed at his dark brown hair, which reached the bottom of his neck. It didn’t quite brush his shoulders, but it got pretty close. He put away his dress like garment, which was for dates and resembled something a fairy might wear. Which he was, he was half fairy. His cat ears twitched and perked, as his white tipped cat tail flicked back and forth. He finished getting things out. His white fairy wings fluttered a bit as he began to put things away. There was a bookshelf in the room he was in. He’d brought some books along, so he placed these and a journal on the bookshelf. He smiled as he made sure it all looked nice. He then took more clothes, putting them in a wardrobe that was in the room.

He’d brought a box of jewelry, hair clips and such too. He placed that upon the nightstand beside the bed, then glanced around once more. He hummed quietly as he looked around a moment. He smiled as he looked to the red panda that had started following him one day. They ran over to him, which was funny to watch. They were a pudgy little thing, which all red pandas seemed to be. He’d named the creature Rosette. Since he didn’t know what gender they were, the name could fit any gender. He picked the red panda up, and smiled. They made a happy little sound, as the Neko fairy held them. He giggled and patted them, then looked around again. He hummed quietly, deciding he could put the last couple things in places later.

For now, he wanted to find out whom was yelling. He went out into the hallway, seeing a cat eared and tailed woman knocking at a door. He tilted his head as he observed her a moment…He then shook his head, and began to head through the hallway. The other rooms seemed pretty quiet, so he moved through the hallway. He headed back down, and towards where he figured there might be doors. As he went along, he caught a scent…He thought it was the type of scent a vampire might have. He’d smelled a similar scent from the room that woman had been knocking at. He shook his head a couple times. He continued heading along, heading for whoever might be a vampire. He found a side door, and found a man there. Rosette jumped from his arms, as he stared at the attractive man. He yelped as he realized they’d jumped from his arms…They were fine though, they were used to jumping and climbing. He watched them hurry after what appeared to be a raccoon, then he looked to the guy and said “H…Hello.”

The golden tannish maybe almost reddish, and minimally cream, haired male hummed a bit. He glanced around for a moment. Then shook his head and looked at the paper again. He’d gotten an invitation from one Nyx, whom he’d actually not known that long. Apparently he’d known her long enough, though, since she’d invited him. He shook his head a couple times. Resisting the urge to let his ears and tail out. That or full on transform to his wolf form, because it was possible outside a full moon. The moon just happened to force a werewolf to transform. They were able to transform anytime they wanted, however. They just couldn’t stop it when the moon was out. He shook his head a couple more times. Then he let out a small sigh, and stretched his arms. Letting out a yawn as if tired but he wasn’t, he was feeling a bit stressed. There were sure to be other people there…People he didn’t know, and that type of thing always just gave him stress. The tannish, cream and white wolf within pawed. Begging to be let out, because he was getting stressed out, when he was stressed, scared, angry or excited, the wolf wanted out. He silenced the wolf, and glanced around the area for a moment.

He then drove the rest of the way to the mansion. He might as well get there, and get it over with; meeting the people that would be here. He saw another car, and someone getting out of it. He tilted his head as he watched the other male. He got out of his vehicle as well, and took a breath. That’s when he froze up, because the other male was giving off the scent of wolf. His wolf began to get excited, and he gave a low growl. Then quickly slapped a hand over his mouth. If this other man was a wolf, he surely would have heard that growl…They had better hearing than humans and witches and such, after all. He felt his cheeks heat up, as he realized the other could have heard it. He let out a sigh, deciding to say something and said “Hello.”
