Once upon a time, there stood a large kingdom hidden behind miles and miles of rolling, green hills. There were many citizens of the land, including, of course, Queen Elena and King Lionel (respectively).

The two ruled the land with absolute power, yet with great understanding and kindness. Everyone in the kingdom liked having them as rulers, for they protected anyone inside the boundaries of the kingdom, no matter their history, personality, or anything at all. The two had two daughters; they agreed that the only fair way to go would be that the eldest would get the throne.

The eldest sister was Valerie; she inherited the genes of understanding and kindness. The youngest was Isabele, who inherited the genes of absolute power and a stone heart.

Valerie came to power after her parents were poisoned. It was a devastating time for her, but she knew she had to carry on her duties. She ruled just as well, if not better than, her parents had. Yet the kingdom despised her still; for she was not beautiful like her mother or her sister. They did not want an ugly ruler representing the kingdom. They wanted to kill her; yet none could get into the palace. They requested she wear a mask, so she did. It did not bother her; if it made them happy, she was happy.
Isabele was much more beautiful. People wished she was the eldest.

As Valerie took a sip of her tea, her sister danced into the room. "I'm sorry, sister. But I've come to far to stop now," she said.

Valerie hesitated. "What are you talking about, Isabele?"

"Mother and father are gone; you are the only thing that stands in my way." Her lips curled into a devious smile.

"It was you?!" Valerie cried, standing up quickly. "How.. how could you...?"

"It just takes a short tea time," Isabele said, dragging her hand along the portrait of her parents. She ripped it out of the picture frame, and threw it into the fireplace. "And a little poison."

Valerie gasped. She looked inside of her tea cup, then back up at her sister. "You mean...?"

"I'm sorry, sis. But hey, you should be thanking me. The townspeople would have burned you alive, while poison is short and sweet." Isabele began to take Valerie's picture out of the frame, only leaving her own on the wall. As she carried her sister's portrait over to the fireplace, Valerie fell to the ground, teacup rolling to her sister's feet. "Goodbye, Valerie," she said, throwing the painting into the fire. Valerie watched herself whither away with her last breath.

I knew it was to good to be true.

Wouldn't you know it? I had broken my leg, just the night before the dance.
I sat in the couch, upset. This really was happening. I guess she'll be having fun without me. At least I can walk small distances, just lugging this cast. I think I should've not volunteered to play for the school team, especially since it was football. Well, that serves me right for accepting that request.

I'm sitting on the couch with my tuxedo and her flower bracelet. Why was I even wearing this tuxedo and holding her flower when I wasn't going? I guess I just want to picture that moment.
I opened the door to go to the front yard, and when I look up at the starry sky, it's replaced with white lights that we bought 5 weeks ago, when we had some friends over. I glance at the front lawn, and I'm stunned with what I saw.
Toxik.
She was the there, with a beautiful purple dress. It had a little diamond design around the waist.
"I felt bad when I heard you broke your leg, and I just wanted to hang out with you."
"But you'll miss the dance." I said, feeling a little bad. She waved her arm with a 'Not to worry' glance.
"My friend's taping it. I'll see it later." she told me. I started to walk toward her, and she smiled.

"Now, where's the music?" she asked me with a little playful glance.
"Ummm, right here!" I said, pulling out my phone.

We danced to a bunch of songs, and when a slow song came up, we didn't turn it off; we danced to it.

"I can't picture being with a different person." Toxik said softly. I smiled.
"Same here."

That was the worst news I have ever heard in my life.

" You're joking, right? " I had asked, uncertainly.

" No. My Dad hates Florida. Mom didn't want to leave, but now she said yes. " Sarah said sadly.

Some people want all the world has to offer....

" Nooo! You can't leave! " I cried. " You're my best friend! "

Sarah shook her head. " I'm sorry Jasmine. "

But I'm not like them....

" Well, where are you moving to? " I asked.

" Well, we used to live in Boston, so my Dad wants to go there. "

I stared at her in disbelief.

" Boston? Really? "

Sarah shrugged. " Yeah. "

I kicked the dirt angrily. " Stupid Florida! "

The only thing I want is....

" I know Jazzy. "

Later, when her Dad came home, I clung to his leg and begged him not to move. But no, in June, they moved.

My Best Friend.....

All I can say is, thank god for Chicken Smoothie, and Facebook to keep us together.

" What do you want? " Where the first words that she said to me. Or well, snapped at me anyways.


" I-I would like some money. " I said bravely.

" Wouldn't we all. " She muttered sarcasticly. She gave me some of her coins, and I walked away, inhaling her scent on them. It reminded me of camping, where we rosted hotdogs and marshmellows. Of fire.

Oh admit it, you love her, even though she's cruel, vulger, and seems to hate you. I thought to myself. I wasn't going to spend the money. I had plently.

" WAIT! " A voice called. I turned around. It was her.

" You forgot some. " She said, dumping a small pile of coins in my hands. I opened my mouth to tell that I loved her, but she flew back, and kissed a red dragon that had taken her place.

It's the 30th June. I should be happy. I am graduating. I should be happy. But am I really happy?

"Nice grades I got this year, no?" I said to my friend, waving my grade card infront of her face.
"Better than mine." she laughed, pushing me jokingly. I smiled at her. Because of school, we weren't able to go out on walks and do nothing almost all year. I couldn't wait for the summer to come, and here it was - right behing the corner. We would go out like we did the previous years, do things that would we remember forever, meet with the rest of our friends... Oh, I forgot.
"Need any help with your luggage? Want me to help you pack your stuff?" I said, smiling.
"No - I'm already done. I actually think I'm late for the train..." she murmured, a bit of worry in her voice.
"Let's go then. We'll get a taxi."
When we arrived there, I couldn't believe how many people were at the train station. It was full. I never really traveled with a train before, so the only times I've seen places like this was in movies. So many people, so many and different loud noises. I saw in the distance her boyfriend and his best friend. I flinched a bit. This whole experience with the trains and stations was new for me, so I had forgotten that he was coming, too. My friend was so happy to see her boyfriend, she immediately went to him and gave him a kiss. We waited a bit, and then our train finally came. I grabbed a backpack or two, she also got some bags, and the rest of the luggage was carried by the boys. The train seemes really big to me, and I have no idea how I jumped over that huge gap between the platform and the train. The moment I was on this thing, I started walking after my crush. You know who my crush was, right - my friend's boyfriend's best friend - what a cliche. I know everyone else might find trains not that scary, but when you're 5 feet tall, or should I say short, everything seems huge. I helped him put their luggage in the right place.
"So, you're leaving?" I murmured to him. He nodded, more interested in my friend's backpack than me.
"Well, everyone else of our friends has already left. Hey, please don't feel left out. You will come next year with us." he finally answered, smiling at me gently. When he looked at me and our eyes met, I couldn't help but blush. I turned around, hoping he didn't see, only to come face to face with my friend.
"I will miss you." she said, and hugged me.
"I will, too." I murmured, trying not to be so sad, and returned the hug. "I'll just say goodbye to your boyfriend and his friend, and I will get off the train."
"Hurry though, because it might leave any moment now." she smiled, but just then a person I don't know pushed me because he wanted to go off the train. I couldn't do anything, so I just got off from the train with that person too. And then, another person closed the door behind us. What?! I saw my friends from the small window on the door - they probably wanted to say a 'good-bye' to me, but now the doors were closed. I shrugged - just my luck, as always. I walked down, next to train, and suddenly heard something from the window next to me. My friends were there! Too bad I couldn't say anything, but then my crush opened the window and stretched his arm to me. Was I now imagining things? I tried to grab his hand with mine, but I was so short I couldn't. Suddenly, the train started moving, and before I knew it, they were in the distance. It all happened so fast, like a dream. Now, what seemed like a huge station, full with people, suddenly became empty. I couldn't see anyone else - as if I was in a desert.... I walked alone to the bus stop, got on my bus and came home. But through all the way back, I could feel only one thing - loneliness. All my friends had left on different places all over the world, today the last three leaving as well...and I was left alone. Alone in this ghost town for two whole months, completely alone...

I am happy for my friends. I am happy that they will have a nice vacation. I only wish I could be there with them...Am I really that happy?

Yeah, I know it sounds sort of rushed, and I am not pleased with it at all, but anywho...
not a very nice way to start the summer you waited for 9 months, right?...
