The black phase she wolf sighed but nodded to the male. If he wanted her to stop apologizing, she’d stop apologizing then. He said he was going to forget about it now. She nodded and said “Okay…we can just move on from it then.” She wanted to tell him it hadn’t really been his fault either, though. She shouldn’t really have gotten annoyed at him for asking. She said “I’m sor- I mean, I hope you can feel less stressed soon.” He’d said not to apologize anymore, so instead of saying she was sorry he was stressed, she changed the wording. She turned to look at the pups. She nudged Azure a bit, saying “Eat.” She then looked at the twins, and said “Hello girls. I don’t think there’s anymore work today, so I could hang out with you three if you like.”

She tilted her head as she noticed how he was looking at her. His gaze was unreadable…but the stance was not. His stance was giving off steadiness, unwavering, and she smiled a bit. She twitched her ears a couple times, then shook her head. She sighed, but nodded to her mate. She’d already said she was going to move on…since Castor also seemed to want to move on. He’d said they should just forget about it, after all. She flicked her tail back and forth a couple times. She then listened as he exhaled through his nose. It was quiet, but not quiet enough to not be heard, so she heard it. Plus, there was still snow on the ground, so it was still cold and so breath and such could be seen on the air. She didn’t know what that was called. It was a thing though.

She watched as he looked to the edge of camp, when she asked about Niko. They’d both noticed how the young one had begun drifting. She sighed, and looked down at her paws a moment. She didn’t like that he seemed to be questioning if he really belonged with them…He was theirs, they’d been entrusted with him. She’d come to love him as if he were her own pup. She hadn’t stopped loving him just because of the twins. She wasn’t going to just leave two pups to pass with their mother, though. She glanced to Blaze once more. She knew, whenever Niko stepped out for what felt too long, that Blaze would go looking for him. Not this time, it seemed, though. She wondered if it was because of her, or Nova, or both; and then he said Nova needed to talk to him.

She nodded and said “Okay.” She then touched her nose to his cheek, as she’d noticed how close he’d stepped but that he didn’t touch her. She pulled back after a moment. Saying “Thank you,” when he said she didn’t have to carry everything alone. She then asked “Do you want to go eat? I could just bring some meat over to you, too, if you’d rather.” She then looked over to Kane and Labrador. She noticed Kane looking around, so she called “Kane!” then looked to Blaze and the pups again.

The reddish looking male twitched darker ears. His darker tipped tail flicked, and he glanced to the others a moment. He shook his head, and turned his attention to the other two she wolves. He smiled a canine smile, and trotted over to them. He asked “Do you two mind if I join you? I don’t see Niko…so he must be out of the camp right now,” he said, and shook his head a couple times. He twitched his ears, unable to help himself looking around again. He then shook his head twice more, making that four times.

He twitched his ears, and flicked his tail back and forth. He then wagged his tail a bit, as he watched her tail give a soft wag. He nodded to her, saying “Thank you,” then looked to Willow. He wanted to make sure she was actually okay with it too. He didn’t think she’d actually have a problem with him joining. He just wanted to hear her say it was actually okay. If she really wasn’t okay with it, he wasn’t going to stay. He’d likely sit close by, since River wanted him around, but if Willow was nervous or unwilling he wouldn’t eat with them. She was new to the pack. He didn’t want to overwhelm her. He glanced to his friend again, and smiled a canine smile. Saying “We haven’t hung out a lot since…Milo…” he then trailed off, feeling a bit sad.

The blue-gray pup and white pup twitched his ears. He flicked his little tail back and forth, and stared up at Castor for a moment. He then nodded to him, as well as Gauge. When she nudged him a bit, he wagged his little tail once more, then looked at the twins. He nodded at them, saying “She wants to hang out. Could we…let her hang out with us when we’re done eating?” He glanced from Kizo to Kioku. Then walked closer to the meat, nipping at it then shaking his head, before actually pulling off a piece.

Starlight

The pretty but still handsome male blinked his blue and brown eyes. He looked at Yomi, and shook his head at her. Saying “I don’t know if I could be a fighter…as I’ve never really liked having to fight others. At least having these kinds of skills could be good, though. I could use them for self defense, if anything.”

He nodded as he looked at the male again. He shook his head at himself, wondering why he’d nodded when the other said nothing…However, then the big male was actually speaking. He wagged his tail a bit, saying “Yup, it definitely is an essential skill.” He then glanced to Yomi once more. Tilting his head as he wondered what she was thinking, but then shook his head. He walked with the two of them over to the prey. Sitting down, he began to rip off some meat so he could actually eat.

Kuroyuki- m, f at times- 2 y 9 mo- hunter- crush: Mikage, Ermin- Tags: Ermin

The black phase one flicked their white tipped tail back and forth. He watched the others either going off to get other wolves, or getting meat. He shook his head a couple times. He turned his attention to Ermin, and giggled a bit as he looked at him. He said “You can eat now, you know.” He didn’t really see many of the others there yet.

The golden-cream slender and slightly smaller female dipped her head under again. She finally managed to catch another fish. It was a medium sized fish, so she felt a bit better now. She nodded her head to herself, and decided to try for an another fish. She caught a second fish, then moved back. Going to find where Scythe was.

Of course Niko had come up with a smart remark, Nanuq shouldn’t have even been surprised. Niko had always been very quick-witted – admirably so. “Sure,” he agreed simply, giving in with a half nod of his head. “But do tell me, what’re you discovering out here?” That twinkle in his eye returned as he pushed back playfully, almost completely forgetting why he had come out here in the first place. “Do the birds like to give you wise words of wisdom? The mice, perhaps?”

The atmosphere that shielded them was light, lacking any cloudy tension that may have existed when Nanuq first approached the young fighter. It was almost as if the sun had melted it away, replacing it with a serene feeling of youthful wit and comforting familiarity. Niko genuinely did look less bothered than before, which also was of no surprise to Nanuq. He had been that wolf, too, eager to physically remove himself from a conversation the moment he no longer felt his point was receiving the validation he desired. Being alone really did help, at most times. You could at least be reassured that your mind was on your side, if others weren’t. Chatting aloud wasn’t the worst of things, either, although Nanuq had to admit, he had been caught deep in conversation with inanimate objects an embarrassing number of times.

When Niko brought up the topic of his parents, Nanuq couldn’t erase the sheepish look on his face even if he tried. He hadn’t mentioned coming out here because he had seen the last few seconds of that conversation. Niko wasn’t stupid, though; Nanuq was sure he had caught on pretty quickly. Yet being out alone with his nephew was a nice reminder of how much Nanuq enjoyed hanging around him. With the recent events and the flurry of action leading up to this very day, it was hard to have quiet moments.

“Whaaat?” His voice shook ever-so-slightly, an awkward attempt to hold back something that sounded along the lines of a laugh. “I’m sure they wouldn’t even know you’re gone. Oh! I mean –” he clamped his jaw shut for a second, squeezed his eyes closed, and shook his head defeatedly – “you know what I mean.” His amber eyes found Niko’s a moment later. “I think they feel pretty bad,” he continued in all seriousness. “Not that your feelings are invalid. Trust me, I get it. Just…” Nanuq’s voice trailed off once again and he gave a shrug of his shoulders. Niko surely knew what he was trying to get at, at least to some degree. Niko was growing older, more independent. Every pup had those frustrating moments with their parents where their words were dismissed far too early to simply let it go. “Look, Niko, I didn’t come out here to reprimand you, or bring a message from your parents. But I know your mom. Sometimes she just gets a bit too wrapped up in things. She’s also doing this mother thing for the first time, she didn’t have the opportunity of having her own litter with more than one pup. I’m sure figuring out how and where to dedicate her time to is something she’s still figuring out.” His head tilted ever-so-slightly, maintaining his thoughtful look in Niko’s direction. “You just have to tell her head-on. Knock it into her. And if she doesn’t listen, well… I’m not difficult to find.” A small smirk lingered on his face for a few seconds. It was sibling love, he would never actually harm her. But a little tackle wouldn’t hurt anyone.

His eyes widened and his head popped upright like he had just been caught doing something bad. “I’m… enjoying nature?” he answered weakly. Nanuq then sighed before letting out a puff of laughter. “Who am I kidding, you know why I’m out here. I wanted to make sure you were okay. Although a nice walk away from the chaos of the pack was needed. And for that I thank you.” Nanuq dipped his head dramatically before repositioning himself again. “If you’re ready to head back, I’m right behind you. But that’s up to you, and what feels right.”

Emmy couldn't help but acknowledge how her muscles tensed when the unfamiliar wolf locked eyes with her. Or, eye, she supposed, making note of the one swollen eyelid. Her medical instincts were nagging at her, a tingling sensation buzzing against her paw pads as if in an attempt to get her moving. She knew Koa had already done his duty, though. There was no way he'd leave an unprotected wolf of any sort alone without receiving proper treatment first, regardless of who they were or where they came from. And she certainly wasn't about to make a fool of herself by inquiring about it. To confirm her suspicions, Emmy took a step closer. Beside the wolf, she could now see that Koa had placed a rounded object that consisted of chilled water and ice, likely for both his eye and dehydration. Now that she was no longer fighting off the strong fragrances from the nearby herbs, the she-wolf also picked up on the scent buried in his fur. He was from Starlight Pack, without a doubt. Her gaze softened, heading tilting slightly as she looked him over. His words were sharp, with a snarky type of sarcasm coating them, but Emmy wasn't oblivious to the slight wince in his features, an uncontrolled reaction to the pain he was likely experiencing. He spoke to balance out the agony that was churning on the inside.

"Rest your head," she instructed, speaking with a confidence she certainly did not have two minutes prior. "I don't want you getting dizzy." Whether he was a Starlight wolf or not didn't mean much to Emmy in that current moment. Injuries were injuries, they weren't designated for certain packs. She'd get some answers as to why he was here soon enough, surely. "Somebody of minor importance," she echoed, raising her brows as she continued to peer at him. "Very humbling of you, Dante." Now even the name sounded familiar, and she silently cursed herself for having such a horrible memory when it came to specifics of the other pack. She wasn't going to ask Dante, either. Whether that was because she didn't want to look like a complete fool of herself to a Starlight wolf, or just a witty wolf like himself in general didn't seem to matter, even if she did know.

She couldn't help but crack the tiniest of smiles at his rather dramatic comments, and took a seat nearby, tucking her fluffy white tail around the tops of her paws. "I guess Koa thought it was best for you to be a surprise," she responded just as lightly, shrugging her shoulders. "And a surprise you were, indeed." If he looked close enough, Emmy was sure he could pick up on the faint glint of amusement that sparkled in her gaze. Her face dropped as he made mention of her encounter with the herbs, and she could feel her ears warming yet again. "Are you sure you haven't bumped your head, stranger?" she shot back innocently, as if she had no idea what he was referring to. "Perhaps I made my way into your dreams. I am simply a healer, I don't possess the ability to communicate with the herbs." Still, that lightness lingered in her tone. "I do prefer Emmy ─ it might be a bit easier for you to pronounce." She nodded her head in the direction of the small pool of cold water. "How are you feeling?"

She wandered back to the riverbank along with the berries and walked toward the place she left her apprentice to fish. SHe didn't see her there at first, but didn't need much for her to find her little further of there likely looking for her "I quess you ctch some, great, we could set back to camp, before the pac kstart to wonder where we left" she said to her with a flick of her tail "can you carry all of those fishes, I can't touch the fish m´beacuse the berries...they could be ruined by the fish" she mentioned.

KUROI

She looked after Risen, walking to the prey as she was asked him to take a bite, the male didn't say much anything which didn't bother her at all. She saw Athena there as well, coming to the prey and speaking to Risen. She looked to her sister and then back to Kiyu "Yes, trying to good, any of us could get nowhere without trying a bit" she said to her, with a smirk for her word about the luna and lead hunter being satisfied about the leg "yes, for now, they could be satisfied, but one leg is not going last long for a two grown up wolf to share" she said to her. She looked as if she got to eat some, but she waited a bit for anyone who could be first in to eat before her. There were already fighters eating, but maybe she just wanted to be patient as a newly made warrior. She flicked her ears a bit as she didn't see her mother or her new healer apprentice yet. Could they still be out? She sighed a bit as she wondered to save some good spots for them, as none of them didn't want to anger her mother the healer.

YOMI

She rolled her eyes at the warrior a bit. "Of course, I am going to eat. I worked hard to help the hunters to get that prey for all of us, so I also need to prize of the job," she responded to the Goliath, repeating his words a bit "Wait, where you speaking the training not the food?" she asked him feeling little awkward if she got the invitation wrong. She shoo kher head a it "anyway, I promised to go hunting some rabbits with my sister and Kiyu so...maybe some other time," she said to him. She looked at Yuui. "Okay, I guess it's good to learn self-defense, but I was once told that if you know how to hunt, you also know how to fight a bit..." she told him as she got to the prey and took her share of it.

ERMIN

He looked around the pack or his packmates a bit with a sight; was there always this empty? It made him wonder a bit. The pack was not big at all, and the luna was sharing her part with the lead hunter, so that also meant fewer mouths on the main prey. He sighed a bit as Kuroyuki told him to eat, too. "I quess I could, it's waste to wait for the death ones to arrive to eat..." he said little dark tune. He walked closer to the open part of the roey and started to take his bite of the prey.

REDMOON PACK

CASTOR

He sighed a bit as he gave the pup a look as he gave him a nod without any words. He looked at the others to go to eat the prey he had led to catch and sat down. His eyes wandered to the newcomers there, noticing the Hyuuga, and he walked to him with a nod. "Hyuuga, long time no see. Where have you been?" he questioned the black wolf a bit. "Ah, yeah, there has happened a lot and many chances...I hope you make yourself at home again...eat if you want...you're one of my pack mates, and if Nova has anything to do to say about it, she can come to talk to me," he said to him as his eyes wandered around a bit. His eyes located the Koll once again as he seemed to leave the prey now, shaking his head a bit he wondered what was wrong with the hunter, was something bothering him as was he always acting this weird or was it only now that he actually recognized the hunter.

LABRADOR

He made a little squeak when Kane mentioned that he is his super wolf. Flicking his tail a bit, he took his few bites of the deer legs and licked his lips a bit as he finished his share. He looked at Koll a bit then back to Kane, he was not sure if that was really the right way for someone to get a mate, he thogth they could try to train Koll to become more out of his shells to have courage to talk to others and that's way make himself to be closer and knows by the others. He flicked his ears a bit as he looked the Gauge for a moment then back to Kane "well he is your brother, but I don't think I really get what are you planning to find him a mate, you don't only find him a mate, instead you could give him the courage to find it himself, if you mean to ask someone to go out with him or something like that, I guess it could work, but as shy as he is, it may only make him feel uncomfortable and likely shut himself deeper to his shell" he said to him.

KIZO

She eat her share of the prey and looked up to Gauge for a bit as she spoke to them, swallowing her bite she looked at Azure as well "How you could not have anything to do? Are you warriors and hunters always running around to doing something?" she said little confused of her words. She looked at Blaze a bit too as he came to talk to her foster mother, flicking her ears a little, uninterested in their conversation as that was not her business to eavesdrop to. She turned to take another bite of the prey to enjoy it; it was tasty prey, or maybe she was hungrier than she had noticed.

KIOKU

She ate her share as well, flicking her ears a bit as she listened to the question her sister gave to Gauge's words to hang out. Swallowing her bite, she licked her lips a bit then turned to the Gauge and Azure. "I don't mind if she hangs out with us or not; maybe she could have some ideas what we could do after this, as I don't really know," she responded. She shook her head a bit and took another bite of the delicious prey.


HYUUGA

He looked around the pack, his eyes scanning for those he already knew, and then there was those he was not sure of. The pups he saw going to the prey, and reminded Gauge's words about Chi's pups 'thoise does look like her...are those her pups?' he wondered himself, but didn't go any closer to see if they where or not, he let them eat in peace as he looked around once again. He was a bit hungry, but he was not sure he could eat as he was still just arrived at the pack, where he had been gone for many months. His ears flicked a bit as the red-furred wolf approved him ."Yes, it's me. It's nice to see you're going great as well, Castor and your brother as well..." he said as his eyes wandered to the small group there sharing a leg "hmm..so many loses, so many new faces, It will take a little time for me to settle in, but I am happy to be back at home..." he said listening his latest words "thank you...maybe I could take a bite or two after I meet with...the new healer" he said to him with a nod as he started to walk past him toward the den he thought to be the healers den or it sure smeled like one.
He stepped a bit then stopped for a moment to think what to say. They were strangers to each other, unlike if Maison was there; he could just walk in, but now he thought the healer could be alert of him. He took a sigh and walked over to the den entrance "Hello here...Koa...I am Hyuuga...luna Nova told me to go to you" he said to him with a calm voice. His eyes wandered to Dante a bit as he could scent that he was also not one of the Redmoon wolves. He also reminded him of someone from the rival pack, but he kept his mouth shut about it and only focused on the healer.

WILLOW

She looked around at the others, some of them going to the prey the hunters caught and brought to the pack. She was a little bit hungry too, but for now, she ignored that; she didn't want to be rude to the pack by going to eat their hard caught prey as a stranger who just arrived to the pack. She also didn't want them to think she was only freeloading there, without doing anything for the pack; she wanted to prove them, she wanted them to see that they could count on her. Her ears perked to River as she was first to speak to her again "I don't mind to find some food, but are you not going to eat? There is that prey for you to eat if you so wanted to, I don't want you to go out with me if you're hungry..." she said to her little unsure as she didn't want them to suffer because of her. She looked at Akiro a bit with a nod. "I don't mind. I like you Akiro so I...uh, I am happy to become friends with you if you want, but you also could eat..." she said to him. She flicked her ears a bit as he mentioned this Niko wolf again, she didn't know how he could be looking like or smelled at so she could not really tell if he was there or not, but likely he wasen't as Akiro said so "Um, It's fine I am not leaving anywhere and if he lives there, I will meet him sooner or later anyway..." she responded to him.

Risen’s ears twitched at the approaching pawsteps, though he didn’t lift his head right away. He had hoped to slip away unnoticed—just as he always did—but Athena was not so easily avoided. The scent of her, a mix of fresh earth and something wilder, reached him before her voice did. His amber eyes flickered up just in time to see her place a chunk of meat at his paws. His body tensed slightly, his mind scrambling for a response. No one had ever done this for him before. He had always been the one to leave things behind, to disappear before thanks could be spoken. Yet, here she was, nudging the food toward him with an amused gleam in her eye.

"Tit for tat," she said, her voice lilting with playful challenge.

Risen exhaled sharply, the closest thing to a chuckle he could manage. His ears twitched as he looked down at the meal, then back up at her with a slow, pointed glance—one that clearly said, You didn’t have to do this. He hesitated only a moment before leaning down, sinking his teeth into the meat she had offered. As he chewed, he flicked his gaze toward her, studying the way she sat so comfortably near him, her tail curled neatly against her side. She was waiting. Expecting something from him.

Risen swallowed and tilted his head slightly, eyes narrowing just a fraction in feigned scrutiny. Then, with exaggerated slowness, he nosed the remaining half of his meal toward her, as if testing her commitment to this little exchange. His lips barely parted, the start of a rare, teasing response forming—but at the last second, he swallowed it back. Instead, he simply held her gaze, the smallest smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.

If she wanted tit for tat, she’d have to work for it.

Blaze let out a slow breath, his gaze steady but a touch softer than usual as he met Gauge's eyes. The conversation had shifted, and while Blaze had meant what he said earlier, the silence between them now held an unspoken understanding. "I appreciate you not pushing it anymore," Blaze said with a quiet nod. "I know it's not easy, but I’ll manage." His voice held the same steady warmth as his stance, unwavering but not without a certain vulnerability that only Gauge could see in the moment.

He caught the way Gauge's focus flicked between him and the rest of the pack, gauging, assessing. It wasn’t an uncommon sight — Gauge always had a way of taking in the details, making sure everything was in order, but there was something about the way his eyes lingered that had Blaze's attention sharpening. Blaze watched as Gauge turned to address the pups, nudging Azure to eat and speaking gently to the twins. His own gaze softened as he noticed how Gauge handled the young ones with such care. There was a certain steadiness in the way he guided them, a steadiness Blaze recognized all too well.

“Everything’s okay, Gauge," Blaze said, his voice quieter now, almost a murmur between them. "I know you’ve got a lot on your mind. We’ve all got our parts to play, but we’re in this together. I won’t let you carry everything on your own.” When Gauge's eyes flicked toward the edge of camp, Blaze followed his gaze, feeling the same concern over Niko. He’d noticed the young one drifting too, but Blaze wasn’t sure what to say just yet. He wasn’t sure if it was because of him or Nova, or something else.

"Let’s talk to him then," Blaze said finally, his voice even. "Make sure Niko knows where he stands. He’s not alone, but we need to make sure he feels that." Blaze caught the way Gauge turned back to him, his posture still firm but his expression a bit more relaxed now. He could see it, too—the shift that came when the two of them were on the same page. "You’re not alone in this." As Gauge called to Kane, Blaze’s focus shifted again, watching the younger male carefully. When he turned back to Gauge, his voice was low but firm. "Later, Kane," he said, ensuring the pack remained in focus.

River’s ears flicked as she noticed the reddish male's attention shift toward them. She watched him for a moment as he glanced around, searching for something or someone. His posture was a mix of curiosity and uncertainty, and River could see he was wrestling with something, but he made his way over to them anyway, a friendly smile on his face.River glanced at Willow, offering a quiet smile to her to show her that it was okay. The reddish male's presence was warm, but she could tell he didn’t want to impose . "You’re welcome to join us," River said, her voice gentle but confident. "We’re all part of this pack, after all. You’re no stranger here."

She noticed the way he flicked his tail, the subtle wag that followed as he made sure Willow was comfortable with the idea of him joining them. River appreciated his thoughtfulness. It was clear he wanted to be sure Willow felt at ease, especially being new to the pack. River nodded, her tail giving a slight sway. "It’s good to have you around. You don’t have to worry about making her nervous; I’m sure she’s fine with it," she said, her eyes soft but reassuring. She then looked to Willow to give her the space to speak if she had any concerns. Akiro seemed to settle a bit, wagging his tail as he glanced at River with a smile that tugged at her heart. River’s expression softened with understanding. She could sense the sadness in his words, a trace of loss in the way he mentioned their friend. She nudged him gently with a soft smile.

"I know," she said quietly. "But you’ve got us now. You’re not alone."

Kane couldn’t help but chuckle as he heard Labrador’s reaction to his corny remark, a smile remaining on his face. He hummed contentedly as he watched Labrador eat his share.
He looked over to his brother as Koll rose to his paws, noticing him struggle to do so. This concerned Kane, they’re not big wolves and what Koll did during that hunt was reckless.
“Okay Ko, you sure you’ll be okay?” He asked him, sighing when he heard the grunting reply.

“You may be right, Lab. But he hasn’t even tried. There has been many times that he could’ve talked to others and he just ignores them. At least he may open up to you more since we are getting closer. But as his brother, I think he needs to be pushed out of his comfort zone.” The white fluffy wolf shook his neck fur as he felt stress wash over him. “I just don’t want him to be alone…” he sighed, leaning against Labrador again.

The black phase she wolf tilted her head as she heard the breath he released. She flicked her tail back and forth gently. She watched him look at her, the two of them meeting gazes. She nodded as she looked at him, when he said he appreciated her not pushing it. She said “I’m glad you appreciate it.” She didn’t really know what else to say to it, but she wanted to say something. Therefore, that’s what she said. She nodded again, when he said he’d manage even though it wasn’t easy.

She glanced around a moment, then shook her head. Trying to keep her focus on him, but wanting to make sure everyone else was okay. Maybe it was because she was a fighter. Her job, alongside the other fighters, was to fight for and protect the others. She’d also nudged Azure a bit, telling him to eat. As well as addressing the twins, letting them know she hadn’t forgotten them, wasn’t ignoring them. They were pups, they wanted to play. She’d had to do her job earlier, but there should be time now to play with them.

She looked to Blaze though, wanting to ask him. She first nodded, when he said everything was okay, and she said “Okay.” She then asked “Is there time for us to play with the twins for a bit? They wanted to play earlier…but I had to go do my job.” She then nodded as he said he wouldn’t let her carry everything alone. She licked his cheek, then pulled back. She couldn’t help glancing towards the entrance of the camp, a second time. She shook her head a couple times, green eyes looking to her mate once more.

She nodded when he said they should go talk to Niko. She said “I…yes, we should definitely talk to him,” and flicked her tail again. She actually wagged her tail a bit. She twitched and perked her ears, saying “Of course he’s not alone…but I agree, we have to show him that.” She noticed how he seemed relax a bit. She’d also relaxed a bit, and the two were on the same page now. She wagged her tail once more. He’d more than likely notice that her tail was wagging, and maybe it would make him feel happy. She sighed as he said later…when she called to Kane. She smiled as she watched Kane lean on Labrador. She muttered “They’re so cute together.” She then shook her head, and turned her attention back to her mate once more.

He nodded to River as well, as she said it was okay, and he said “Thank you, River.” Before looking at Willow, and saying “Thank you,” to her too. He said “Of course,” to Willow, then “We can definitely be friends if that’s what you want.” He then looked towards the others. He said “Okay,” when she said it was fine Milo wasn’t there. He pointed his tail towards Blaze and Gauge. He said “That male and the green eyed black female are his adoptive parents.”

She’d already met Gauge when Gauge, him and River had found Hyuuga and her. He said “The female is Gauge, you already met her. She was with me and River when we found you and Hyuuga. The male is her mate, he’s the lead fighter and his name is Blaze.” He then turned his attention to River again. He nodded at her, and wagged his tail some more then. He twitched and perked his ears, looking at his paws a moment. He then shook his head, and raised his gaze once more. He smiled a canine smile, as he looked at hee. His face had went neutral, or even sad, for the moment he’d looked at his paws. He nodded at River, saying “I wish we could have saved him…all of them.” He then said “I’m glad I have you, and Willow now, and everyone else.”

They’d already done their patrol. He didn’t believe they should have to go out again until evening, so he said “They shouldn’t have to go patrol again until evening…”

Once he’d grabbed some, Kuroyuki then also finally grabbed some meat as well. Before backing away from the prey, and sitting down then.

The other asked her to carry the fish, so she said “Sure.” She quickly picked up the fish, being sure not to damage them or anything. She then began to follow the older she wolf back to the camp.

Dante

She-who-Speaks-with-plants didnt bother herself with providing a name when asked immediately, instead she resigned her self to providing instruction for Dante by kindly asking him to lay his head back down with a noticeable change in the confidence in which she spoke the words. He of course believed that this was an attempt to gain some form of control over him with a command given under the guise that it was for the benefit of his well being. Because of this he chose not to consider the instruction until she echoed one of his previous statements, it was at this point he cracked a smile, then had it put away by the time his head was resting on top of his paws once again. He rolled his eyes with feigned dramatics, “oh poooo, once again my reputation proceeds me. And here I was hoping we had no clue who the other was,”he sighed deeply exhaling from his nose, “Well I did make it easy.”, not that Dante was interested in hiding who he was any way. The ebony brute figured the more wolves that knew he was here the better. He knew some feared him and other probably hated him, either way the influence his name could inflict would always work out in a positive manner usually very noticeably to his benefit.

In truth Dante’s mood had shifted slightly due to She-who speaks with plants and her return banter. Though he’d probably never say so or admit it Emmy was the first one he for this brief period was enjoying talking to. Her youthful approach to conversation was refreshing to him who seemed to spend all his time talking with ‘set in ways’ adults. “I am doing fine. Your mentor did what he could to mend aches and provide comfort for me. I was hoping he and you could preform some magical healing that could mend my swollen eye because Koa does not fill me with confidence that worse damage has not been done. Between the constant throbbing of other injuries and strife I endured I could not confidently tell you if I believe worse damage has not been done. I am at your mercy.”,

A soft hum drowned the commotion outside of her den. Her breathing slowed steadily, shifting her back to her senses. With all that had gone on, Nova felt overwhelmed and lost. She was lost at facing leadership a lot sooner than she thought she would - especially in the way that she did. Overwhelmed with the shambles of a pack she wanted back together. She wanted to become normal again or find a new normal. The luna sighed at the thought of having a new normal, someday.

Her eyes swept the pack as they all did their own thing, and she sighed in relief. Everyone seemed at ease for the first time in a while. She figured hiding from the pack would not last long. Eventually, someone or something would require her attention. Nova slowly emerged from the dark cave towards the common area. Where it seemed most of the pack were conversing amongst themselves.

To his surprise, his uncle had no witty remark to spew back at him. Niko always expected some feedback from Nanuq. "Tranqulity if you must," the young wolf answered. His ears twitched when the wind stirred. There was something about his uncle, like a best friend and mentor in one wolf.

Finally, the air around him felt significantly lighter than before. The real reason that he had come out there in the first place. Nothing brought peace to him like a good run or some fresh air away from everyone else. Niko needed time to calm down and gather his thoughts. The way his morning started wasn't exactly on the best note - which, in a sense, is his fault. He felt a bit dramatic about running from his mom that morning. It was the bit of jealousy, not getting any attention because she wanted to take on others.

The heavy look on Nanuq's face at the mention of his parents caused him to raise a brow. There was something a pequiliar knowing sense, but Niko knew better than to push further. He'd find out sooner or later. His gaze glared on Nanuq like a hawk to prey, wondering if he would spill the beans on his own.

The young fighter squinted at the hunter right after his comment. "Of course they wouldn't know I'm missing," he replied with a swish of attitude. Surely Nanuq did not mean it, but it felt nothing more than true. With the two new pups in the pictures, Niko pushed them aside because they felt he did not need them anymore. Far from the truth, and even Niko knew that. He still yearned for the guidance and teachings from the duo he called his parents.

When the hunter's eyes met his, he dipped his head in an apology. He began to explain his true intentions of being there. Niko chuckled at the word reprimand as if he were a pup still. In his mind, a punishment felt out of place for his actions. Instead, he was hoping that his parents would want to talk to him at one point or another.

Niko's brows caved in at the words he heard. Clearing his throat, he softly interjected, "Taking care of Chi's pups isn't the first rodeo I was." he huffed in frustration. Being the first pup - in his eyes, he was easy. Especially when compared to Eros's behavior! Niko never considered running the border or even misbehaving often. "I get we all have our selfish wants," he started, carefully pulling his words together. "I should have been considered. It has always been three - now there are five. I''m supposed to accept my mother adopting two pups and forgetting me?" he rhetorically asked. It was not a question that he expected an answer to. He snickered, "Telling a mother how to mother - you're hilarious." he fauxly chuckled. Amused, at the least, that Nanuq expected him to tell Gauge how to divide her time. "By the time she figures that out - I'll be on my own, fully." his voice grew softer. Hopefully, he had not disrespected his uncle with his expression.

At the weak attempt of an answer, Niko decided it was time for him to go home. His ears flattened against his head, "C'mon - lets get home." his words were barely audible, but the social cue was there. Niko geared up to pad back home to the pack.

Athena's ears perked with eagerness as she awaited for Risen to take a bite of the meal she brought. His pointed glance captured her attention, and soon he sank his teeth. Feeling slightly accomplished, she smriked - pleased that he'd taken her offering. The least she could have done was return the favor, especially while she was out healing an injury. For a little while, she watched to ensure he did not leave most of the food there. However, he seemed to be watching her too, as if he were reading her like a textbook.

Risen pushed the remaining bit of meat in her direction. Conflicted, she tilted her head at the piece as it rolled to a stop near her paws. Indeed, this was a game that the two of them would play, and she was here for it. With a playful and low laugh, she sank her teeth on the small bit of meat - careful not to put her entire maw over it. She'd had to smother his meal with her slober. Her canines came into view as she stepped closer to him. One paw in front of the other until the gap between them was nearly closed. She placed the meat at his paws once again. This time, she did not step back; if he wanted to play chess, so be it. With a glistening tease in her eyes, she silently declared checkmate. Their little game just grew a bit more intense. "Finish what you've started." Her words slithered with a tang of sass.

He could feel the heat of her presence, the weight of her silent challenge hanging between them. His hesitation was brief, only a flicker of uncertainty before he forced the words past his lips, low and quiet. “Y-you… s-st-started it.”

His voice was rough, strained, the stutter catching on the words, but the teasing lilt was unmistakable. His lips twitched as if he might smirk, but it never fully formed. Instead, he lifted his head slightly, gaze unreadable yet intense, daring. Slowly—purposefully—he let his muzzle graze just past hers, close enough that his breath lingered, before he leaned back again. His tail flicked once more, his expression unreadable.

Blaze hesitated, his ears flicking as he glanced toward the twins. He knew they were just pups, full of energy and excitement, but he couldn't quite shake the feeling that he wasn’t… suited for that. Sure, he looked after the pack, but being something like a father to them? That was different. That was something he’d only ever felt with Niko. He let out a slow breath, his gaze shifting back to his mate. She was watching him, her tail wagging slightly, hopeful. He didn’t want to disappoint her.

"I—" He stopped himself, shifting his weight. "You should go play with them. They’ve been waiting for you." He offered a small nod, but it was clear there was something unspoken behind his words. Blaze wasn’t cold toward the pups, but he wasn’t sure how to be what they might need. He had always been a protector, a leader when necessary, but never… that. His expression softened slightly as he looked at her. "I’ll be here," he added after a moment. "Just—" He glanced toward the entrance of the camp again, as if searching for a distraction. "Watching. Making sure everything stays as it should."

He hoped she’d understand, that she wouldn’t push. He just wasn’t sure if he could be that for them.

She said “You need to eat…and we were supposed to check on Niko. Though hopefully he’s coming back from wherever he went to.”

She noticed how he looked towards the camp entrance…She assumed he was looking for Niko.

She shook her head a couple times. Saying “Watching is fine,” and looking at the prey then.

We are a pack, so we all have each other, even if…some of us maybe don’t get along as well.” He’d noticed the tension between Nova and Gauge. It never seemed to have went away… He didn’t understand why, because Gauge had no reason to worry. He thought she seemed like she wanted to try being friends with Nova, but it just wasn’t happening.
