Description: Lysander is a very small boy. He's only 5'5" and his limbs are long and slender. His fingertips, however, are so callused over that he can no longer feel anything except pressure. This is a result of his power- it even poisons his own body, injuring his fingers and making him freezing cold even in a warm room. For this reason, Lysander always wears heavy clothes or wraps himself up in the hospital-issue blankets to try and keep warm.
Power: His touch weakens things or, as he likes to put it, "poisons" them. He can't really kill or fully destroy anything, but the touch of his bare fingertips is enough to warp plastic, crack stone and wood, wilt plants, or make food dry and tasteless. He can 'poison' people's minds, too. If he touches them, they begin to feel extremely sad, confused, or scared with no apparent reason.
It's important to know that his power isn't always present, and sometimes his touch is harmless. But he can't control it. It's often triggered by extreme emotion.
How Long Have They Been Trapped: Almost a year.
Asylum Sentence: Someone found Lysander wandering the streets of the city, dazed and confused, and took him to a hospital. Due to his timid nature and seemingly constant state of sadness, he was diagnosed with depression and sent to the asylum.
Personality: Lysander is nothing like his Spartan namesake. He's quiet and mild, although by no means shy. When he walks, his footsteps make almost no noise, and he is always gentle with whatever he does. His voice is barely more than a whisper. In addition, he can seem to suck all of the noise out of an area just by standing there.
His outward emotions are somewhat mild as well, although he is sensitive. When he's happy, he smiles quietly. When he's angry, he quietly disapproves of whatever put him in that state. He never gets excited, although anxious wouldn't be off the list. His negative emotions are stronger and more actively expressed- although still unobtrusively- and he is highly self-critical. He does, however, try to be an optimist as much as possible, although this can be hard for him.
The one thing he would never do on purpose is hurt anything. He loves people and other living things to the point where he doesn't hate the doctors and nurses, he's just disappointed with them.
With his friends, he'll protect them whenever he can, although he still will not use violence. Whenever someone is hurt or something breaks, he tends to blame himself and will do whatever he can to make it better.
History: Lysander has lived in a tiny house in a suburb of New York City for his whole life and hated it. Growing up, he was subject to physical and sexual abuse from his mother's alchoholic boyfriend, and had to learn to be as silent as possible and hide away. Recently, the boyfriend convinced his mother to go on a weeklong cruise with him, leaving Lysander at home alone to provide for himself. Unfortunately, he failed to mention this to Lysander, who believes that either the boyfriend kidnapped his mother or they both abandoned him. He set out for New York City, but got lost in the city streets.

Description: Everything is shown in the picture, except that Dani's arms are covered with scars from Serkoya's abuse.
Traumatic Event: For her whole life, Dani was quiet and almost never stood up for herself. When she was 17, she agreed to let her boyfriend drive her home from a party even though he was clearly drunk because she was afraid of angering him. They got into an accident, and both Dani and her boyfriend suffered serious injuries- she still has scars from the event, and her boyfriend lapsed into a coma from which he still hasn't woken up, over a year later.
Trigger: It's not exactly clear, since many things wake up Dani's cruel second personality. Mainly, though, it seems to be whenever someone says something she thinks is disrespectful, or whenever she's asked about her boyfriend.
How Long Have They Been Trapped: Just under a month.
Asylum Sentence: Daniella's particular brand of crazy is called Dissociative Identity Disorder. Shortly after she returned from the hospital, her parents noticed that sometimes, she'd seemingly switch personalities. Gradually, her strange behavior escalated and became self-destructive. Strange cuts and scars began appearing on her body, and she began to take drugs. One night, her parents came home and found her half-dead in the bathtub, her wrists slit. At the hospital once again, Dani insisted to anyone who'd listen that
she hadn't tried to kill herself- Serkoya, her second personality, had.
Personality: Friendly and open, Dani is a joy to be around. She always brings smiles to the faces of everyone she meets with her caring, bubbly attitude and warm, loud laugh. She seems to be cheerful and smiling all the time, and although she's not too good at school, she's a remarkably quick learner and likes to teach others new ways of doing things.
Well, that's how she was last year.
Now, Dani is quiet and withdrawn. She's as friendly as she can be, but sometimes she scares herself. She has another personality, named "Serkoya," who seems to be able to take control of her mind whenever it wants to. Because of this, Dani will often isolate herself from others so that only she will have to deal with Serkoya's rage. She hates it and wants it to disappear, but doesn't know how to get rid of it without killing herself, which is her absolute last resort. The truth is, she's terrified of Serkoya.
Serkoya's Personality: (Serkoya doesn't identify as female or male, but based on its personality and the fact that it's in Dani's body I'm going to use feminine pronouns.)
The main aspect of Serkoya's personality is her hate. She hates crowds, hates small spaces, hates loud noises, hates silence, and most of all hates Dani. This has led her to physically abuse herself by hitting, cutting, and biting herself because she knows Dani feels it too. She thinks that the only way she can be free of Dani forever is by killing the girl, and is often trying to do so. She is now the dominant personality of the two- maybe because her own personality is more dominant than Dani's- and she takes control whenever she pleases. However, for some unknown reason, she'll also allow Dani to interact with the outside world sometimes.
Apart from this, Serkoya doesn't pose much of a threat. She's somewhat antisocial, but won't injure others unless provoked. Her usual response to any conversation is to be rude, often with bursts of profanity. But she can get along with others sometimes, provided that they understand her need to be the boss and don't get in her way. She even has a sense of humor, although it's quite morbid- she loves "dead baby" jokes especially.
One odd quirk about Serkoya is that she loves baby animals. Nobody knows why, but when she finds an animal she'll be as gentle as possible with it, even if it attempts to hurt her. She doesn't show much interest in adult animals like cats or dogs, but can become occupied for hours with puppies and kittens. They always put her in a good mood, and sometimes she even lets Dani's true personality surface so the real girl can play with the animals as well.
((If possible, could Dani/Serkoya's room have something like a bulletproof glass fish tank? Serkoya would find that incredibly relaxing.))
History: Dani's life was that of a normal teenager. She was an only child, and her parents loved her very much. She usually earned good grades in school and finished her junior year of high school with a 3.6 GPA. Her love life consisted of a few long, committed relationships that all too often ended in tearful breakups, but Dani was a mostly happy person.
