What should I do?

Postby Exoneration » Sat Mar 22, 2025 7:05 pm

Hi.

I haven't been active here in years. I used to be really active from about 2013 to 2018. I worked hard and collected a ton of old, valuable pets. Including the Ur Tigerdog, the Ravendog, White Malk dragon and a ton of others I don't remember.

I don't see myself becoming active again and I don't want my pets to just rot on my account.
I'd give them away for free but.. I worked hard.
I traded onsite and offsite and learned the trading market and spent hours collecting event currency and trading for missed outcomes. I don't want my time spent to go to waste. The problem is that I no longer play games that CS allows off-site trading with.

So.. what should I do? Just let them sit?

Trade them for art? An art auction? If so, can I be picky with the quality of art I receive?

Hello!

When quitting and looking for art, a lot of users seem to hold competitions on the Art Competitions board. As far as I can tell, you can put certain requirements of quality in the rules section of these posts, like requiring that submissions not use bases or AI, or that they must be fully colored, but you could always ask staff for clarification on how far you can take these requirements when holding a competition. Here's an example of a competition of a quitting user who used popular pets as part of their prize pool, which might give you a better idea of the kind of submissions you would receive, assuming your prize pool looked similar.

If you want to commission artists instead of holding a competition, the Looking for Art and General Art Shop boards could be useful. You can be more picky about the art you receive through using these boards instead of the art competition boards. Because the pets you're trying to exchange for art are so valuable, it might be easier for you to sell those pets for C$ and then trade them away for art. I know pets like the Raven Dog are going for crazy amounts of C$ right now and that most art shops accept C$ as a form of payment, although I have seen a few with wish-list pets being their only option of payment.

You could also try to cross-trade your pets to a CS approved site, then use that approved site to cross-trade again to your site of preference (assuming that it was allowed there), but that seems like an annoying process. But it could be an option!

Good luck! I hope you find a way to trade away your pets for something you're happy with. : )
