A heart on the brink of ruin

She does not ask where she came from, nor where she is going.
He, too, remains silent.

All things in this world can be deduced,
except for her fate.

They gaze at each other across the firelight,
both strangers, but alike.

Her battlefield lies upon the blade’s edge,
his amidst a pack of wolves.

She sees through his schemes,
he understands her obsession.

β€œ...Look.”

She musters all her strength,
telling him with her lips alone.

He follows her gaze.
The night is torn open,
a sliver of dawn spilling onto her face.

Warhorses neigh.
She seems to see her childhood self,
running along the mountain paths,
plucking the fresh leaves of early spring.

But she has been away from home for too long,
even in her dreams, she can no longer hear its songs.

How many times has she pondered amid the flames of war
these hands that once cupped water and held flowers,
now bearing the weight of a blade?

Fate made her a warrior,
crowned a girl with glory.
only to stain the land with her blood,
bury her bones beneath the shifting sands.

She stares at the desolate hill,
moonlight passing through her form,
as a speck of dust returns to Earth.

The lantern’s glow cannot reach his eyes.
For he once knelt before her grave,
listened to her silence.

She died before dawn.
He lived after sunrise.

Midnight

Beneath the midnight pendulum
On the border between meaning and nothingness
Hearing my own echo
Devoured by the night. The curtain of darkness falls
The world sinks into silence
And I barely awaken
Stretching my thoughts in the folds of night
A madman.
Time is unbreakable
Tightening my breath, urging
counting, counting
Until the pendulum
Stops.
Cuts.

Moons Escape

You are elusive and proud.
The sun stripped away your stage.
You repayed yourself with the entire night.
I move as you do,
Yet you
Shy away from sight
Vanishing like a dream

Inspired by bladerunner 2049

Eyes weeping in snow
A window to happiness
You already know
The final cold in life
Is meant to welcome the warmth of the future

You were merely bathed in that fleeting red sun
In its light, your soul came alive
Even a fake hero
Has lived
at least once.
