Lyrics from Lady Gaga's The Edge of Glory.
____

.
Another shot before we kiss the other side
Tonight, yeah baby
{ {
tonight yeah baby } }
I'm on the edge of something f i n a l we call
life tonight
Alright, alright
Put on your shades 'cause I'll be dancing in the
flamesTonight, yeah baby
{ {
tonight yeah baby } }
It isn't Hell if
everybody knows my name
Tonight, alright, alright

His lips formed a succulent line across the stone that was his face. They twitched, almost like they could form a smile, but he shook it off and stood firm. The bartender watched him with an intense pretense; he had been acting odd all night, and she wanted to crack the case.
"Sir, could I interest you in something?" She laughed inaudibly as she said it, and her palms were pressed tightly on the counter. "You look like you need a little break."
As he turned his appearance shocked her- his hair was black? or was it blue?- but was adorned with barrettes, rings carved up his fingers, and his shirt was flimsy and held with a gold coin. His pants were tight and an umber gold, and they seemed to match his eyes.
"Hmm... I think I'm fine, but a hearty thanks to you..." He slinked into a stool next to her. His eyebrows slumped together in a huff. "You know something...?"
Sighing through her nose in a sassy fashion, she glared at him. "What do I know?"
He slicked some silky hair through his fingers. "You really seem to glow, Miss. Your hair, eyes, nose even..."
"Don't call me 'Miss'." A snort. "I'm Ally."
His hand covered his mouth as he did a slow nod. "Y-Yeah, well... You can just call me, erm, Daniel. Yes. Daniel."
"Alright... Then... Daniel," she paused slowly, "you wanna come somewhere with me?"
Ally's glare was unmatched.

The engine revved up twice, and her voice yelled over it. "You all set, Danny boy?"
"Yeah, I think..." Daniel's grip tightened around her waist as she sped up. Her driving could be labeled as insane, or deadly, but most likely both: she shot through lanes of traffic, dodging cars with a swift superstition.
Both of their lips were sealed now, and not either would even try to screech over the engine of the beast. A few honks jolted both of them, but with each disapproving driver, she sped up. Daniel's gaze, however, always focused back onto her hair. Sparkles wafted in and drifted out, like lonely travelers with nowhere to go. He bit his lip with an impulse desire.
"Can't this thing go any faster?" He strained himself just trying to be heard over the cycle.
She bellowed a large laugh. "Can it go faster? Only
of course, Daniel!"
His heartbeat rang in his ears with every large speed gap. Cars honked louder and Daniel was pretty happy that no cops were nearby. That wouldn't smooth over so well; they wouldn't be able to find any documentation of--
"
Hold on!" Ally screamed at the top of her lungs, and snapped Daniel back into his own head. She took a sharp turn, and their knees almost scraped across the asphalt. The bike was heading straight for a brick wall with a purple tinge. Ally's eyes lit with ambition of lust as she flung herself and Daniel to the other dimension.
His wings shot from his back out of pure instinct, and his arms tensed to the point of superficial growth. His feet slapped on the ground with a thundering
clunk, but he didn't hear a peep from the female driver. His eyes took their liberties searching the space, but it wasn't until he looked beside himself that he saw her.
And the snakelike eyes wanted
more.
