Millenia ago, before the time of The Scorching, in an age before two of the
tribes fled Pyrrhia for good, there were rumors. Rumors of a landmass untouched by the
scavengers that so threatened dragonkind. Hundreds of dragons took the call to search for
this continent. Few returned and of them, none had managed to find the continent they so
desperately sought. Pantala was discovered, and, for a time remembered, before rumors of
its existence were whittled so low that its name was simply remembered as the Lost
Continent. However, what the dragons of Pyrrhia also forgot, was their third continent. The
land, though not so free of scavengers as rumored, in which dragons willing to brave the
treacherous ocean could find.

This is the continent Parides, in which dragons have united, not by wing, but by necessity
to survive the dangers of their territory. The tribes here live their lives unaware of the
legends unfolding in their former homes, and instead, forge their own stories. However,
stories cannot be written without those that create them. Will you aide these tribes in
fulfilling their destiny?

☽ Create a Dragon Tribe ☾ | Getting Started

If it is your first time posting, you’ll need to set up a starting post by describing your tribe! All tribes must have a name, up to two territory types, prey and predator list, and a ranking model, along with which species of dragon (found within the territory type you are claiming) will be your monarch. Although additional facts are optional, you’re encouraged to add as much as you like into your starting post. If you need something to go off of, examples of things you can include are: your tribe’s nature, belief system, reputation, and general personality.

Generally, tribes from Wings of Fire feature a (name)Wing naming scheme. You do not need to keep with this if you do not wish to.

Within our scheduled replies, we will quote your starting post with a description of your new monarch and your tribe will be officially founded! After receiving your dragon, you can decide your monarch’s name, age (minimum of 30 years) and gender. Monarchs are traditionally female in Wings of Fire, but you do not need to keep with this for CaDT! For every post made after your starter, we expect you to use the post format available below.

For your first five posts you will be given descriptions. After the first five posts are up, you may choose to have your dragons transferred to the line-art, or you may continue using descriptions. Please note that all line-art belongs to CaDT staff and cannot be used outside of CaDT. You may take the designs off the lines for roleplays, but you may not use the official lineart outside of the CaDT game.

Please note that at this time you may only have one active Tribe. Should you decide not to continue your tribe you can contact your mod to disband or restart it. If you are restarting, you may take a maximum of five dragons from your previous tribe to your new one. The rest of your villagers may be adopted out by members of the staff or be considered deceased.

Territory Types
Different dragons can be found in different territories. The territory your tribe lives in will determine what types of dragons you can find on patrol. You may choose up to two territory types to found your tribe in.

Getting More Dragons
A tribe cannot flourish with only a founder! There are multiple methods for acquiring new dragons, both within your posts and within the CaDT community. In your posts, you may send your dragons out on border patrols to chance an encounter with a wandering nomad. You may also send your monarch to post a request in the Oasis for a new tribemate. For non specific requests you will be allowed to send your monarch to the Oasis every other post. However if you wish to ask for a specific dragonkind or specific markings/colors, those requests are limited to every other visit to the Oasis. Within the community you can add more dragons to your tribe through disbanded tribe adopts, staff-led raffles and events, and as a gift for your birthday. You will be allowed to pick your new dragon’s name, gender, age, and rank if applicable.

Dragon Appearances
Your mod will post a description of what your dragon looks like, along with their genetic code. Information about the CaDT genes can be found and elaborated in the Dragon Kinds tab of the Public Resources document. If you do not list the genetic code in your post, you must give it during birth for the purposes of generating children.

Aging and Death
In every post you must age your dragons up by one year. A dragonet aged six years in one post will be aged seven years in the next. You may not alter your dragons ages if they’ve been present in more than one post, or if they came with a specified age or age range from a readopt event. At six years you may move them into your tribe’s student ranks. students do not have a maximum age range, as whether or not they rank up is determined by their skill set. If they have no skills they are barred from becoming full hunters/scouts/guards. It is up to you to decide when your dragons retire from their duties, but your mods may begin to encourage you to do so once they reach around 160 years of age.

There are currently five ways for your mod to kill off your dragons: old age, complications during birth resulting in the death of the mother and/or loss of eggs, predator and enemy dragon attacks, starvation, and untreated illnesses and injuries.

Until you’ve gathered a fair number of dragons, your mod will restrict death to old age and neglect only. After you’ve passed this threshhold, you ay mark down the dragons that you absolutely do not want killed with a symbol, but please make it clear in your post what that symbol means so your mod knows not to kill off those specific cats.

[ Old Age ] Once a dragon hits around 200 years, your mod will begin rolling to see if they pass on from old age. The probability of the rolls will increase for every moon your dragon continues to live. When the dragon reaches 250 years they will automatically pass.
[ Birth Complications ] Depending on the season or general health of the bearer, complications may occur during the laying of your new clutch. You may end up losing any number of the eggs, the bearer, or the entire family. While you may be able to save the queen if she is marked down, you may still lose the clutch due to complications. You may use herbs to aid a troubled bearer and future clutch, but there are still chances your clutch will hatch with disabilities or illnesses if the roll was particularly bad.
[ Enemy Attacks ] While it is unlikely your castle will be invaded (unless you make it known to your mod that is something you’d like to occur) your dragons can still come across predators in their territory. Your mod will set up an interaction in their response and it will be up to you to decide how your dragons respond. If you decide to pursue the enemy, there is a chance that some of them will perish from the fight.
[ Starvations ] If your tribe runs out of food or you decide not to feed your dragons, you will have two years to recover. If you are unable or choose not to, your dragons will begin dying off from hunger. One dragon will die per post without food.
[ Illnesses and Injuries ] While out on patrols, your dragons may become sick or injured. More often than not you will be given a warning to see to your dragons health two posts before they turn for the worse. However, some injuries and illnesses may prove to be immediately fatal if you’ve allowed your mod to roll for death regularly.

Keeping Your Tribe Fed
For your first five posts, your tribe will go through a fasting period where consuming prey is not required. It is recommended that you use this time to send your dragons out on hunting patrols to stock up before your sixth post, where you will need to begin feeding your tribe lest they starve to death. The more dragons on your patrol, the more prey they will catch.

In your starting post, you will list the available food items, four meats, three vegetables, and three fruits, that are available in your territory. Please keep in mind that your serving sizes will need to be kept balanced, with some prey offering fewer servings and others offering more.

Below is a brief explanation of serving sizes and the amount of servings required per dragon
[ Meats (birds, fish, and mammals) ]
      Small - 1 serving
      Medium - 3 servings
      Large - 5 servings

[ Vegetables/Grains: grains, leaves, roots, and stems ]
      Small - 1 servings
      Medium - 2 servings
      Large - 3 servings

[ Fruit: seed bearing structures ]
      Small - 1 serving
      Medium - 2 servings
      Large - 4 servings

Eggs do not need to consume food
Dragonets aged 0-6 years will need 0.5 servings
Dragons aged 7+ years will need 1 serving.

Re: ☽ Create a Dragon Tribe ☾ | tribe actions

Now that your tribe has been founded, its journey has only just begun. Where the story goes is up to you, however, there are things you need to keep in mind so that your tribe can continue to grow and function correctly without dying off too quickly. Your dragons have duties that they need to fulfill to guarantee a successful tribe. It is up to you to decide who does what and when. In the “actions” section of your clan posts, you may list down what you plan on sending your dragons out to do. Hunters to hunting patrols, Scouts to border patrols, and Guards to make sure the patrol is protected. Training students, becoming partners and/or trying for eggs, etc. You will also be required to mention what food (if any) your tribe is consuming for the year. If your tribe has traditions that are outside the actions listed above and below, feel free to add them in separately so that your mod can introduce random events as a response.

In your first five posts, dragons can be assigned to any patrol, or even multiple. After five posts have passed, you should remember to assign your dragons to patrols befitting of their rank, and to avoid attending more than one patrol. If dragons are on multiple patrols or patrols in which they are untrained for, the chance of injury and illness will increase. If your story requires that a dragon change their rank, please reach out to your mod and inform them of the planned change.

A detailed description of each action has been listed below, if you have any questions after reading please feel free to reach out to a staff member.

Hunting Patrols
Hunters are dragons that feed your tribe, ensuring that no dragon goes hungry. Although no more than six Hunters may be assigned to one patrol, you may also add up to two guards to help ensure your patrols safety. The more hunters assigned to a patrol, the more food they bring back. In the spring and summer your dragons will find more food while you will find less in the fall and winter. Guards assigned to hunting patrols cannot influence how much food is brought back.

Scouting Patrols
Scouts are dragons that fly through your tribes territory, ensuring that the borders are safe. Although no more than six Scouts may be assigned to one patrol, you may also add up to two guards to help ensure your scouts safety. On patrols you can find nomads, be attacked by threats, or be injured through various means.

Patrol Information
You may have up to one patrol of each type during the early days of your tribe, with up to six working dragons and two guards. As your tribe grows, these numbers may increase, along with how many kinds of food your tribe can find.

      0-50: 10 kinds of food, 4 patrols, 6 workers, 2 guards
      51-75: 12 kinds of food, 5 patrols, 7 workers, 2 guards
      76-100: 14 kinds of food, 6 patrols, 8 workers, 3 guards
      Etc…

Herbs & Medicine
Once you receive your first medicine cat, you will be able to choose three herbs to start your storage with. The herb list that is used can be found on the medicine tab here. You will need to send your healers out on herb-hunting patrols to keep your storage locked up. There will be a limit to how many herbs you can collect, with the minimum adjusting based on the season and number of medicine cats present in your tribe.

In Spring & Summer the minimum herbs a healer will gather is four. In Fall & Winter the minimum herbs a healer will gather is two. If your healer receives a student, or your tribe gains a secondary healer, you will be able to find an extra herb per healer each patrol.

You will be able to assign guards to your healers to help ensure their safety while gathering, however this does not increase the number of herbs your healers will gather.

Couples & Dragonets
Without a future generation, your tribe would eventually die out. As you decide which dragons you would like to start raising families, you may have them try for eggs. Whether your dragons consider a formal mateship or not is your decision, you must simply inform your mod which dragons are trying for eggs. Although “couple” is used in the following paragraphs, you may have polyamorous relationships between your dragons.

Please remember that dragons cannot become a couple and/or have dragonets until they are at least 18 years and have graduated from studentship. Additionally, dragonets conceived through dubious or non-consensual relationships are not allowed. You will be banned and reported if you are found to have tried to achieve children through these means.

By default, a mod will assume the couple is trying for eggs unless stated otherwise. When a female becomes pregnant, she will carry her eggs for two posts. Once laid, the eggs will need to be incubated for an additional post before they hatch. Once hatched, the mother or a surrogate parent must care for the dragonets until they become testers. A couple may try for another clutch to fewer than five posts after the clutch is initially laid.

If you want to have a chance to introduce a new bloodline into your tribe through random non-tribe pairings, turn on flings! This is an optional feature that allows your mod to roll if one of your AFAB dragons has a fling with a passing loner. To turn on this setting, list it in your post’s notes and mark any AFAB dragons you are fine with having flings. The sire of these clutches will be a randomly generated dragon kind.

All successfully laid eggs will hatch, however there is a chance for eggs to be laid dead-in-shell. You will be notified of these instances when the clutch is laid. Additionally, dragonets do have a chance of needing herbs when they hatch or of being born with disabilities.

Training
As your dragonets grow, they’ll need to begin training for a skill! When a dragonet is at least six years old, you may mention in your action queue that they’ve been accepted as a student to a trade (hunter/scout/guard). Once a dragonet becomes a student, you will need to assign them a mentor and begin their training. Before your student can become a full member of their rank, they must successfully complete five training sessions, though you may extend their training for as long as you’d like.

Your student can learn a new skill during each training session, and you are allowed to provide your mod with a list of potential skills your students can learn depending on their studies. students do have the potential to fail at learning certain skills and to become injured, depending on the roll.

When your students are ready to graduate, they must perform an assessment of their skills, the results of which will be rolled by your mod. If a student fails, you will need to try again next time. If they succeed, they will rank up and become full members of your tribe.

One adult may take on up to two students at a time.

Your tribe isn't alone on Parides, other tribes are out there trying to survive just the same as you. Will you work together? Or will you tear the continent apart?

Allies & Enemies
Through the fanclub and discord server (ask a mod for the link), you can find potential allies and enemies for your tribe. Allies tend to act friendly toward one another, sharing herbs and food if needed and fighting alongside one another in the event of battle. You may trade dragons, herbs, and food with an allied tribe, and you may call on your allies to help defend you during times of strife. However, it is up to the other player to decide whether or not they follow through with it.

Enemies tend to be hostile with one another, fighting and arguing instead of talking. With permission from the other player, you may send raiding parties of four or more guards to steal dragonets, students, herbs, and or/food. You do take a risk with raiding another clan however, as raids will often result in injuries and death on either side of the conflict.

Forbidden Romances
Although intertribe relations are clearly forbidden within the canon lore of Wings of Fire, you the players get the final say in what is or is not a forbidden relationship. If you decide to try for eggs with a dragon from another tribe, you must have a screenshot of both players agreeing. The both of you must also determine where the dragonets will end up. You are allowed to split the dragonets between the two clans. If it fits within your tribes lore, you may also choose to exile the parents and/or dragonets for being part of a forbidden relationship. Please let your mod know what you’d like to do with the dragons afterward, whether it is readopting them to a new home, killing them off, or holding them in a limbo to return to your tribe at a later date.

Magical Artifacts
On rare occasion, magical / animus-touched artifacts may be discovered and tribes may enter for the chance to win them. These items will have limited usages, and grant minor boons to the tribe that wields them. These artifacts will likely be released around holidays, alongside rare dragonkinds (hybrids, beetlewings, etc) that have a chance to introduce new genes into the tribes through studding. These artifacts will be announced in the fanclub and in the discord.

Circles - IceWing Model
A model based on IceWing hierarchy. There are three circles in which the higher the circle the more power the dragon has in regards to other members of the tribe. The Monarch is replaced by the Heir upon defeat in a single combat duel to the death.
[ First Circle ] The First Circle consists of the Monarch, the Royal Family, and any Nobility. First Circle dragons may train First and Second Circle students.

[ Second Circle ] The Second Circle consists of well respected Guards, Hunters, and Scouts that have proved themselves to the tribe as well as their families. Second Circle dragons may train Second or Third Circle students. Second Circle dragons must obey members of the First Circle, but may order Third Circle around.

[ Third Circle ] Remaining Guards, Hunters, and Scouts of the tribe as well as their families. Generally new members of the tribe will be placed in Third Circle. Third Circle dragons may only train Third Circle dragonets. Additionally, Third Circle dragons must listen to and respect members of both circles above them.

☽ Create a Dragon Tribe ☾ -- lineart tos

Due to the specificities of Wings of Fire dragons, a lineart has been created to be used as the main source of character references. What follows are the terms of service for using the lineart. All new members will be directed to this section in their founding replies. The following terms spell out what can and cannot be done with the lineart, as well as the procedures for growths and alterations for your characters. All new members must state their agreement to the terms below in order to receive lineart after their initial five post waiting period. These rules may be updated at any time, we will inform you when they are.

    [ Usage ]
[ 1 ] Lineart given to you by the Create a Dragon Tribe staff will not be used outside of this game. They are akin to copyrighted photos (allowed to be used with limitations)

[ 2 ] Lineart that has not been actively used (six or more months) without explanation or prior agreement will be put back into circulation.

[ 3 ] If you plan on using your character outside of CaDT in any capacity, you will need to use an alternative reference. Art commissioned for your character separate from the lineart is not considered part of the game.

[ 4 ] You may use lineart as references for the CaDT character on sites such as toyhouse so long as credit is given to the proper artist and is not used outside of its intended use.

[ 5 ] The penalty for using lineart outside of its intended use is the immediate revocation of the given lineart. If you choose to remain in the game, you may request lineart after a year following the infraction. Further penalties include permanent banning from the game and art theft claims.

    [ Growths and Alterations ]
[ 1 ] Staff members will fix lineart transfers or scars within reason. We will not completely redo a character

[ 2 ] Staff members will provide minor scars (i.e. scratches, blind eyes) by request
Staff members will provide growths when appropriate. You may remind your mod that certain characters need growths when they are 10-11 years.

[ 3 ] Give staff a two-week period following a request before asking for updates. This is a forum game and each and every person (player and staff alike) has a life outside of ChickenSmoothie. The real world comes first.
