✦ Breeding Slots. All Equinox Equines start out with 6 breeding slots by default.

----- ✦ Unlocking more slots. You can unlock up to four more breeding slots for each additional artwork (art, writing, crafts) created for an Equinox Equine, for a total of max 10 breeding slots.

----- ✦ What counts as an artwork? Any artwork is accepted as long as there's a reasonable amount of care and effort put into the work. Oekaki color-ins, sketches, "silly drawings", poems, personality blurbs, and commissions are accepted. AI "art" is not acceptable.

----- ✦ Polished pieces may unlock more slots at once. Polish is defined as "extraordinary work, effort, or time that can be seen throughout the piece." A high quality one-of-a-kind piece may unlock up to 2 slots at once (ex. a detailed colored fullbody with background piece or a 1k+ writing piece unlocks 2 slots). The max breeding slots is still 10 slots.

✦ Cooldowns. Equinox Equines do not have any cooldowns and can be bred as long as an artist is available.

✦ Foal Ownership Transfer. The owner(s) may choose to gift or trade the resulting foal to another user. Any foals born are considered of adult age.

✦ Gender Compatibility. Equinox Equines of any gender can be bred together, as long as they are not related.

🔮 Breeding Mechanics for Special (Helios, Kelpie, Ceramic, and Peach) Genes.
As the genes are magically volatile, these genes have special rules.

✦ Rule of thumb: Equinox Equines with two copies of a special gene has the chance to produce a foal with two copies of that special gene, regardless of the other parent. This is to encourage diversity in breeding partners/outcomes. There is always however a small chance for the special genes to not be passed down.

Examples:
✦ Possible Outcomes for a KlpKlp x KlpKlp breeding
✦ Possible Outcomes for a KlpKlp x CrmcCrmc breeding
✦ Possible Outcomes for a KlpKlp x nCrmc breeding
✦ Possible Outcomes for a KlpKlp x no special genes breeding
✦ Possible Outcomes for a nCrmc x no special genes breeding

What about other potential outcomes? As I cannot make graphs for every possible breeding combination, artists will approximate outcome chances and roll accordingly.

What about breedings with more than two kinds of special genes involved? Is it possible for an equine to be a Helios, Peach, Ceramic, AND Kelpie? Equinox Equines can only inherit up to 2 types of special genes and any others will be lost randomly. They cannot carry/become recessive.

What about breedings with realistic/regular horse coats only? These do not have any particular special rules and will be rolled for accordingly.

The horse designs in the examples are examples only meant to illustrate possible outcomes.
I understand this is not how irl genetics work but my intent for the adopt is to be fun/informal.

If special genes are involved, you may mention which special gene you prefer, should it be inherited.
Guaranteed rare+ genetics or specific outcomes (ex. please add champagne or please do outcome F!) cannot be requested.

✦ This is a free event and both owners and non-owners can enter.

✦ Fill out the form below and choose one of the 4 Equinox Equines listed. Your chosen horse will be parent #1, and parent #2 will be chosen randomly from the 3 remaining listed Equinox Equines.

✦ If you have joined our Discord server, then you may specify parent #2!

✦ Only 1 form per user can be submitted. You can edit your form at any time as long as your name has not been drawn yet. Once your form has been drawn, your form will be removed from the pool.

✦ Depending on artist availability, I will select a number of forms through a randomized generator. Depending on the number of entries, please note that not all forms may be accommodated.
