I definitely think it'd be worth closing the pound for a time, give it a chance to recover from the amount of openings. It's hard to imagine this frequency is viable.

I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like there's been a much higher amount of pound openings versus lost and found openings. Especially because the pound is currently one of the biggest factors at making the site even slightly friendlier to newer players, it'd be a shame to see that source of getting valuable pets dry up completely.

I really miss seeing people get excited for the pound, and seeing new players celebrating getting their first rare from the pound </3

I'm also in favor of a pound temp. close. if it's a small group of people botting, then they shouldn't be difficult to track down i hope? its honestly really weird that the pound is even open at all. the economy is already cutthroat, and now you have cheaters robbing noobs of the chance to get old rares? that's really sad

Pound and L&F are chosen by a coinflip, sometimes there will be streaks like this. We recently had nearly a week of L&Fs only. Human brains don't really "understand" RNG because we are programmed to look for patterns.

in terms of the pound closing, i would want to know more about why the VRs ran out before i would advocate for that. it *sounds* like they have plenty of R, ER + OMGSR left, so i wonder if it was a script issue that no one caught until the VRs ran out causing the pound to be proportionally more generous with VRs than it should be. i do remember when we used to be able to see all the pets in the pound and not just the adoptions group, i wonder if one of us data nerds would have caught it had it still been visible. now if it is because the R+ supply is dwindling as a whole, then i would be more likely to be in support of that.

how is this data collected? i cant imagine julia and others manually count out all 1000+ pets in the adoption group every time 😭 ive been very curious how you guys do this ever since i first found this thread! the data is very nice to see laid out though

I can't speak for the others, but here's my method:

1. Open the Pound's adoptions group (here) and change the page display to the total number of pets in there, so I can see them all on one page.

2. Using the CS Helper browser addon, pull the numbers from there. I personally find it easier to subtract the smaller numbers from the total to get the "Uncommons and under" but you can just add those up on their own too, math is flexible like that!

3. Skim the page for store pets. (This is a lot easier with fewer rare+ pets now!) After doing it for a few months you start to recognize stores on sight and don't even need to see the rarity tag.

4. Throw all the numbers in the spreadsheet. I set it up to autocalculate percentages, so I just copy those percentages into the post.

5. Check to see if someone else has beaten me to the punch before posting
