this will be where I put my kalon mass readopt try out forms.

    trying out for:
    # 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9.

If any kalons are mentioned it would be one of my kalons here!

I didn't end up mentioning any of my pre-owned kalons, but I had the idea that Arachne might fit into the au I wrote for these guys!

✦ ✦ ✦ A Sirens Call ✦ ✦ ✦

    tryout for #7

some will be info dump, some will be partial story.

    ✦ ✦ ✦

    the sea called to her.
    just like it always had.
it called longingly and loudly for her.
the small kalon covered her ears, she mustn’t listen.
    no.
it’s a trick; one of those obvious lies.
it seemed like the sea did not want her in a caring way.

it made her imagine that it wanted to devour her.

however, the sea is not so easily ignored.
    the small kalon would toss and turn, toss and turn in her cold, small, circular bed near the window;
and every five or so minutes, a shrieking wail would call to her.
there was no cohesive words shouted at her, no.
this was a desperate call, one too desperate to ignore.

    so she gave in.

crawling across her bed, the young kalon became perched in her windowsill on her front two hands.
staring into the abyss of the night, there was nothing to be seen.
that was except of course, the rolling, crashing, yearning waves.
her house overlooked a steep drop into the ocean.
    one that many feared.
this seaport town lacked any beautiful beaches, but instead were overtaken by rocks upon rocks along their shoreline.
the sea dropped off quickly, you weren’t able to see below you for longer than 15 meters if you were to swim.

swimming was prohibited in this town.
    it was far too dangerous.
the sea is no plaything after all.
it is a goddess to be respected, worshipped.

    she knew this.
her parents told her all of this.
    this is why what she was doing was a very, very bad idea;
and yet, why could she not stop herself?
she was inching closer, closer still.
the piercing wind blew at her face as she looked below at the waves, threatening to start overtaking the cliff.
now that she had made a move, the desperate calls for her seemed to have gotten even louder, more urgent.
it felt like her mind had numbed.
eyes slowly sinking into her head, vision stretching closer, closer…

    she slipped.

the kalon cried out and flailed in the air, watching the waves get closer, screaming of the sea get louder, louder, louder!

until she felt a cold wash over her, unlike any cold she had ever felt before.
there was no sound, and she could not breathe.

she struggled against the waves, kicking and flailing.
the poor soul breached the top of the sea, waves splashing into her face.
she continued to struggle…until the waves seemed to calm.
instead of thrashing and crashing against her, they carried her softly, like she were it’s own child.
that’s when she noticed the distance between her and her home.
she wanted to reach for, to cry for, to be saved by her mama.
    her papa.

alas, the pull of the sea was too strong.

she was dragged away, out into the night.

    ✦ ✦ ✦

    Siren woke up suddenly, aggressively.
she felt like she couldn’t breathe.

    what was that?
    what was that dream?
    who was that?
    who was I?

she never remembered her childhood, but she certainly didn’t lack the occasional nightmare about it.
however this was more detailed, more explicit then the kalon could have ever hoped.

    was that real?
is that how she got here?

she rested on the sea floor, staring up at the slowly dwindling light above.
fish swam calmly and gently above her, miles and miles above.

    ahh that’s right.
    this was her home.
it felt warm, it felt welcoming.
there was nothing scary about the ocean…
    right?

    ✦ ✦ ✦

above was just the main idea for this kalon that I wanted to get out as a short story.

I personally imagine her as somebody who wasn’t always a kalon of the sea; but instead the sea overtook her, turning her into a deity who was unaware of her current powers and what she could give to the sea.

I want to expand her story as a benevolent force in nature, guiding ships and other kalons to safety instead of something more sinister.
it would be interesting if Siren slowly realized her responsibility and the good she could do for others.

not to mention, the irony of her name Siren.
    as normally they are tormentors of the sea, trying to misguide those who brave the waves;
instead I really want to see her as a kind spirit who’s trying her best and only wishes to help, but struggles along the way.
not only with her identity of a half-deity(one who was not born a goddess) but also to realize and overcome her fears after she realizes how the sea got it’s hands on her.

another thing I imagine, is that the sea only chose her as a replacement for the previous deity the had.
which it mourned heavily, as it took great care of the sea.
in this au, the sea is a semi-conscious spirit with a will of it’s own, but unable to do much about current wrongdoings happening in/on it.

Siren would also be hundreds of years old.
I believe originally she would be born sometime in early medieval/pirate times, and slowly, over a few decades of turning her into her new form, she would become the Siren you see now.

an immortal who knows not of her powers or duties yet, but will soon discover the trials of her life.
not only discovering where she came from and what she lost, but also finding out what she gained and her new goals, duties to help others.

I also have another idea regarding Siren, pertaining to a potential relationship.
I think it could be an interesting dynamic/relationship if she fell in love with the moon, or more accurately the moon goddess.
they are destined to be together, pulling and pushing, and yet they are always out of reach, never able to touch, never to hold.
I have a particular idea in mind on a kalon I’d like to design myself to be in a relationship with her, the moon goddess as mentioned above.
I have the perfect idea in mind for her design, and I’d love to make their relationship and story real.

unfortunately, my 3 pre-existing kalons don’t fit into this universe, so I’d absolutely love to craft a few specifically for Siren and her au.

I hope to add some art of Siren below as well, I have an idea for a gorgeous outfit, as she reaches out for the moon.
    yearning.
just as the sea did for her, she calls to the bright, shining goddess above.

✦ ✦ ✦ A Magical Seamstress ✦ ✦ ✦

    tryout for #8

some will be info dump, some will be partial story.

I'd like to somehow tie this world into the world of kalon #7(Siren) as well, but I'd like to further develop each story individually before tying them in together; however I feel like they'd do nicely together as magic and gods are slowly becoming things of the past rather than sought after powerful items or beings like they used to be.
they both struggle with their identity, and I feel like they could be potential interesting friends someway or another.

    ✦ ✦ ✦

"are you wondering where all the magical clothes in the world come from?
well look no further than Blair's Bountiful Boutique; where I design all the clothing myself!
spells, enchantments, witchcraft…I know it all!

whatever you want done, I can do just for you!
now come on down to Blair's Bountiful Boutique and get some fancy, witchy clothing!"

    the light colored kalon was doing their best to promote their boutique, right outside of the door;
but unfortunately in the age of magical items becoming attuned to electrical equipment and electrical items being a new commodity in itself, old-school spellcasters like Blair weren't as sought after anymore.

as other kalons continued to walk by, ignoring Blair's eccentric display of magic items and their own powers, they huffed!
why was this so hard? this sucked! they only recently bought this new store since a few years ago business was absolutely booming!
everybody seemed to want some sort of special magical trinket, whether it was clothing, books, glasses or some other accessories.

they wondered if it was a bad idea to buy a store now, considering the fact that nobody wanted anything anymore, was Blair just in the wrong town?
how were they going to make a living now?
they sighed, slumping down on the steps of their boutique.

maybe it was time for a new idea.
    clearly this wasn’t working.

their next grand idea, was a traveling magical trinket merchant!

    ✦ ✦ ✦

I didn’t have the chance to write more than this, and my idea didn’t get fully written down so I hope my head cannoning can help give you a better idea of what i’d like to do with Blair!

I'm hoping to turn them into a traveling salesmen, who traverses the world as they offer their goods and services to anyone who would listen. the idea remains the same, where they use their magic to imbue the items they collect and trade for along the way, often getting into crazy shenanigans due to this!

they end up having to turn into their own adventurer, conquering beasts and journeys alike.
nobody else is going to do it for them!
besides, they're too poor to pay a proper guild.
slowly overtime they become better and go on grander adventures, meeting tons of new faces along the way.

does their shop ever take off you ask?
    not really!
of course they sell items here and there, but they've learned to put their magic towards other things...
like slaying massive monsters that no one else can!
they become quite the fabled tale, a legend who isn't often seen, but a powerful one who is not to be messed with.

aside from the legends though, they're a huge dork who still enjoys reading books and enchanting little trinkets to enjoy.
of course, now they actually have a purpose to use all those items they find!
    on their next adventure!

✦ ✦ ✦ An Apprentice's Tale ✦ ✦ ✦

    tryout for #4, #5 and #9

    #4: Orion
    #5: Eden
    #9: Fenrir

some will be info dump, some will be partial story.

    ✦ ✦ ✦

Snow fell quietly around them, the only thing keeping them warm was a small fire to their sides and of course...

    "HA! take that!" Fenrir exclaimed, slashing forth with their sword, a small twinkle of frost powers bursting forth;
Orion quickly dodged, back arched, feet slipping underneath them...he shot a disgruntled glare towards Fenrir.

Orion quickly planted their feet, adjusting their pose before striking with their own sword, managing a quick jab into Fenrir's stomach; he keeled over, knees buckling as he clutched his stomach.

"OUgh- uhg- ack!" Fenrir let out a few...odd, sickly noises as he tried to catch his breath.

Orion stood over him, a small smile cracked towards the shorter, younger boy.

"I won again. Face it, you'll never beat me." Orion then slowly dropped down onto the ground, sitting next to Fenrir, who was currently almost face first in the snow. The boy grumbled, muttering some mild threats under his breath, before getting gentle swatted against the back of his head.

"Ow! You little-" Fenrir yelled, quickly sitting up and turning around, before flattening his ears against his head while his lips puckered.

A familiar figure stood overtop of him, towering over the two boys with a soft grin.

"What was that Fenrir? Something to say to me?" the tall, pleasant woman asked.
She was beautiful. A true sight to behold. Long, flowing hair...a feathery, soft tail...plants and flowers that seemed to just, grow out of her! Gosh was she stunning, a goddess!

At least, that's how all the townsfolk described her. The boys didn't really understand it, to them, she was just a plain old, mean teacher!

"Nothing Miss Eden..." Fenrir shook his head, turning away. He was pouting now, after all he hadn't won a single time against his older "classmate", Orion. Ohhhh boy did Orion just...make him so mad!

Orion was sitting quietly, staring at the stars, before he finally piped up.
"So when will we be learning our next lessons? I've already finished everything you wanted us to do."
He was an overachiever of course. The quiet, tall boy. Not many friends, not much of a family life. Nothing to do but practice and hope for the best. There was so much they didn't know, he didn't know; he could only distract himself from everything by practicing. Practicing. Practicing...

"Already? That was supposed to take you at least two weeks, not...2 days." Eden was shocked at the abilities this boy had, far superior than any student she had ever had. She wasn't sure how to keep up with him, to be honest; she was rather concerned about him.
"Well, I guess you can start on the next lesssons...But you really should take longer to do these ones, and be very careful. They won't be easy." She warned, voice full of caution, she was serious. Stern.

That lit a fire in Orion's heart; as Orion's light burned a hole in Fenrir's soul, he felt bitter that Orion was better than him.
He wanted to be better, he needed to try harder.

How dare he continue to pass him in abilities.

Orion was unaware of Fenrir's stirring hatred towards him, and instead continued his friendly endeavor towards the younger kalon; patting him on the back and smiling warmly at him.

"I can't wait to learn these with you, my practice buddy." Orion was a kind soul, warm.

Fenrir softened, the seed of hate stopped growing for now.

Their journey continued, as it always would. Intertwined for life now, no matter how far away.

    ✦ ✦ ✦

I wish I could've wrote more for these 3's story, but I think right now it's better I explain my plan for them rather than trying to write the book I have in mind for them a day before your deadline is!

So, as you know, the two students/apprentices are Orion and Fenrir and their "master"/"teacher" is Eden.
I imagine Orion being the older one of the two boys, maybe around 13. Then Fenrir being around 10, maybe 11. Both pretty young, both have a lot to learn from Eden, who is very, very old. Which the boys don't know, of course.

I imagine that this takes place in the same au as both Siren(#7) and Blair(#8). A mythical fantasy realm full of creatures, beasts and plenty of magic users, god's and any fantasy element you can think of. I'm truly excited to expand on their universe, as I love fantasy settings!

    Anyways, back to the ideas.

Eden would be a goddess in disguise, trying to keep her identity a secret from the world. After all, she's a goddess who left her realm and duties behind, abandoning her post and plummeting some of the world into an ancient darkness, a curse. In fact, this is where most of the beasties and monsters come from. She was the only thing holding this terrifying curse at bay; but after centuries of holding this curse at bay, she wanted freedom. So she abandoned her post, running away from her responsibilities and binding away most of her powers.

I like to think Eden was a powerful plant goddess, who took care of the planets flora. Keeping the balance in place so nothing got too out of control; but after such a dreadfully long time watching over the planet, the gates that kept the evil at bay well she...She got tired of always admiring everyone else's happiness from afar. Eden wanted happiness and love for herself.

    Which she would soon find.
I want to expand her story separately from the two young kalons into a tragedy of some form.
Her lovers, partners, always end up passing away. Whether it's from the monsters roaming the earth, or from old age.
I'd have to write both past, present and future for her, considering she's like...forever years old.
I hope I can find a deity partner for her, which she finally gets to have and to hold forever. Perhaps a regular person she loves so much being brought back from the dead, cursed with immortality the same way she is.
Which I imagine they'd get mad at her for, and it'd end in a fabled tale of Eden trying to make it up to, what she wanted to be, her partner.

Then finally onto the two boy's stories.
I also want their story to be tragic, yet hopefully become filled with happiness later.
Orion is an orphan, who has no place to call his home. He camps out on his own in the forest, fearful of the beasts that roam.
His parents didn't want him, he was born with a curse. Black feathers planted across his body, unnatural. Freaky. Fiendish. They imagined it was a sign, he was a harbinger of misfortune. Death. Nobody else had been seen born with these feathers, not ever.
They tossed him aside, leaving him at the doorstep of the village orphanage. What they didn't know, was that the feathers were only placed upon him as a result of Eden leaving behind her responsibilities. A wave of distortion was unfortunately released upon the world when she left her post behind, tragically cursing many infants with different afflictions. Visual afflictions. However, they were not evil, at least not because of their unfortunate shortcomings that made the lot of parents think they were cursed. So sadly, many infants were left alone to their own devices.

Orion being one of them. For a few years, he was welcome at the orphanage; but once again, unfortunately for him, any poor luck or bad day the orphanage had was blamed on him. He was the reason everything in this town went rotten after all. The moods of the kalons around him turned sour, bitter. His parents were ran out of town, which he wasn't aware of considering he didn't know who his parents were. Nobody could be happy with him around, and he could feel that once he got old enough. Those dead stares they'd glare at him. Looking at him like they wanted him to disappear forever. He was the reason everything went wrong in their life. No matter what it was, it was his fault.

Eventually, around the age of 8 or 9, Orion had run away from the village. Later to be discovered close to passing away by Eden. Which she then nursed back to health with her powers, against his knowledge.

When he was back to full health, he began his adventures with Eden. They journeyed together every single day, Eden protecting him and treating him like her own kin.

It wasn't long before Fenrir joined them. A young boy from a rich family, dressed in silly fancy clothes and definitely spoke the "fancy talk".
What Orion and Eden didn't know, is that Fenrir was the outcast of his family. After all, he wasn't a pure blood, but instead a result of his father's infidelity. As such, his "adoptive" mother was less than nice to the poor boy, his father having to agree to ignore him, and of course, his siblings only followed their parents footsteps of ignoring him. Fenrir's siblings even took it as far as to bully him; but Fenrir was tough. He didn't care...He didn't care at all.

When he stumbled across Orion and Eden one day while adventuring away from home, in the woods just outside town, he watched them in silence for a bit. Amazed at the skills they both showed, sparring with each other. Magic flew in the air, twinkling and sparkling as they laughed and enjoyed the nice day. Fenrir was in awe, he wanted that. He wanted laughter, how did he get that?

    A twig snapped.

That was the reason they all met.

Eden and Orion(reluctantly) let him in their little group of misfits. Every time Eden and Orion were in town, Fenrir was welcome to join them in their training. Which he happily did. In the more recent years, the were in town fairly often, Orion thinks it was because Eden thought he was lonely, Fenrir, as barely spoiled as he was, thought it was because Eden saw something in him. Saw something great she wanted to nurture and train!

In reality, it was because Eden enjoyed this town's commodities the best. The townsfolk, shops and taverns were the best here, very well kept.

I think this is how the three of them would come to be.
A small group of kalons with no relation, and yet it's their chosen family.

I imagine later in life they split up, Orion because of finding out who Eden is, Fenrir because he wants to be somebody great, and Eden...Because she had no choice.

I like to think that Orion and Fenrir would meet back up in the later future again, but I'd like to write that part later if I actually end up with them :-)

Hopefully everything came across as intended and well, I'd love to write this into a full story if I'm able and continue to develop each of them and their personalities, as well as separate them into their own stories and lore!

This is just a message from me :-)

I really enjoyed writing each and every story and head cannons about each and every one of these kalons!
I hope I can give them the great home they each deserve, I truly adore all of them to the fullest and I want to expand their stories even further.
I'd love to draw art of all of them in their respective stories and even make kalons specifically for this au.

I imagine they're all in the same universe, and I want to develop it as such.
I'd like to imagine I can somehow weave another one of my kalons into this universe, but for now I'm glad I got the chance to write entirely new stories for kalons with fresh slates.

I know lots of the writing I did was rambling about my ideas, as not all of it could be made into a proper story, considering the time frame I had to write all of this for each kalon, but I hope my grand ideas come across properly and you can imagine the love and care I'd like to put into all of these amazing kalons.

I absolutely adore each and every one.

    thank you for the chance!
good luck to everyone else as well :-)
