Vincent nodded slowly. "She didn't like the fact that I was gone all night, yet the night before she never noticed." He stopped again. "It's fine, she was always like that." His eyes lightened up a little. "Yeah, too bad." He smirked back. "You did? Why?"

[[Yeah, this one is still pretty creepy, XD ]]

Atome's smiled faded a bit. "My mom used to scare me into behaving by telling me daddy was going to come and steal me." She gave a light laugh. "I figured if I wasn't home he wouldn't know where I was. My Grandmother stopped me." She glanced around. "It scared me so bad that every once in a while, when I'm alone and in the dark, it feels like someone is watching me. Just waiting." She shivered. "Scares me still, and I haven't seen him in over 10 years." Looking up at him she smiled. "I feel a little better having talked to you. First human conversation I've had for quite a long time."

Vincent's smirk faded as well. He looked at her, a little shocked. "That's horrible." He then hugged her gently. "Yeah, I'll agree with you on that one, feels good to talk to someone." He let her go, then looked down for a moment. Why would anyone want to discipline their child that way? His own mother wasn't any better though. He asked politely "Anything else you want to talk about?"

She thought for a moment, glancing at him. "Not really, what about you?" She let him hug her, and hugged him lightly back. She was still getting used to the hugging thing. She began to hum her favorite song softly, rocking with the tune playing in her head. "You know, I love music. That's the one thing that I have always been sure about."

Vincent shook his head and replied "No." He then listened to her beautiful voice humming. He smiled slihgtly. "Well, if it's one thing you are sure about, then jest keep making sure it stays with you."

She only nodded. An awkward silence surfaced and she stopped humming. She wasn't quite sure what else there was to talk about. "So uh...." She blinked and looked up at him.

Vincent stretched and yawned. He looked down, and noticed he was still in his swim trunks. He said "It might be smart for me to change." He stood up, walked over to his backpack, and pulled out his clothes. He walked past Atome, towards the treeline and said "Be right back." He quickly got changed, and left his trunks out so they could dry faster. He sat back down beside Atome, and asked "Tired yet?"

She shrugged. "I suppose so, though the cold water woke me up." She stood and yawned, blinking away the blurriness from her eyes. She looked around, and the others seemed to be asleep. She held her hand out to help him back up. Her eyes seemed brighter now, and they glowed in the dark like a cat.

Vincent took her hand, and got up. He also yawned, and he gently let go of her hand. He stretched and said "I'm going to sleep Atome." He walked past her. "Good night." He lied down in the grass, and put his hands behind his head. He shut his eyes, and began drifting into a light sleep.

"Night." Atome nodded and walked off in the opposite direction, heading for the woods. She liked to sleep under the trees, made her feel safer. Blaze opened his eyes and stood, following her into the forest. She found a comfortable spot, and sat down. Blaze laid behind her, and she leaned back on him. She closed her eyes and began to sing softly, calming herself. "On the first page of our story...the future seemed so bright...then this thing turned out so evil...I don't know why I'm still surprised...even angels have their wicked schemes...and you take that to new extremes...but you'll always be my hero...even though you've lost your mind..." She yawned again and turned to her side, drifting off to sleep.
