agree!! a lot of the time, something is popular because it's good. wanting to only like "underground" things is very performative.


there's nothing wrong with modern/contemporary art. just because you think it's simple or "easy to do" doesn't make it any less meaningful! (and honestly, i prefer it over realism any day)
