I have a suggestion for a small random event, just a one-time thing would be lovely. If it's gonna be for this year, it should be released on March 2nd but the date moves from year to year, so just keep that in mind ^.^
The holiday is called Fastelavn, I don't think it has an English name. It's celebrated in a handful of Northern European countries, though I only know the Danish version and traditions.
It is Christian in origin but just like Christmas, it's very much secularized nowadays, so no religious stuff included. It's celebrated on Shrove Sunday, which is on March 2nd this year.
Wikipedia does a solid job explaining the holiday and traditions
here. The holiday is mostly for kids nowadays, where the kids dress up and go "trick or treating" much like a non-spooky Halloween. Though rather than saying "trick or treat" the kids sing a little song related to the holiday before receiving candy or money. I think it's mostly common to do this for your grandparents and other relatives, not sure how common this practice is anymore with neighbors and random strangers.
While the kids are in costumes they will also play a game called "Slå katten tønden" in danish or "Hit the cat out of the barrel" in English. Think pinata but with a wooden barrel with a black cat in a "Halloween"/scared pose painted on it instead. In the days of old, an actual cat was inside the barrel but nowadays it's, understandably, been replaced with candy and fruit like oranges. The kids will then take turns hitting the barrel with a bat until the bottom falls out and the candy spills out and the game continues until the final board of the barrel is knocked down. Whoever knocks the bottom out is crowned "Kattedronningen" or "The Queen of Cats" and whoever knocks down the final board of the barrel is crowned "Kattekongen" or "The King of Cats", this is regardless of the gender of the kids. They will typically get a small toy crown for the queen and a big toy crown for the king.
A common decoration related to the holiday is called a "Fastelavnsris", Wikipedia calls them "Shrovetide Rods".
They are essentially branches or bunches of sticks decorated with candy, cat paper cut-outs, colorful feathers and colorful paper frizzles among other colorful things.
And the thing most adults like about the holiday is the pastries, called Fastelavnsboller or Fastelavns buns!
They come in a couple of variations and are sweet buns typically with whipped cream, pastry cream or jelly inside and with icing on top.
So now that I've shortly covered what's typically included in the holiday, here's a list of the stuff I think would be fun to see in this little drop of pets and items:
Pets:
I imagine a set of 4-6 PPS pets dressed up in costumes and potentially two adult cats. Could be any pets in any costumes. The dress-up part is very much similar to Halloween though not necessarily spooky.
There are two ways the Queen and King of Cats can be represented. Either one of the outcomes will wear a small crown to represent the queen and another outcome will wear a big crown to represent the king, this is the more realistic way to represent them because that's what kids irl do.
Or they could be actual adult black cats dressed up in royal clothing for a more literal and fun way to represent them.
Potentially both ways could be included?
Items:
Three different "Cat In the Barrel" barrels. One new and unbroken, one with the bottom knocked out and the candy spilling out and the final one where it's just one piece of the barrel still hanging. All should be hanging from the ceiling with rope above and a bat or two included for hitting the barrel with as well as a small and a big toy crown for the Queen and King of Cats.
Here is a photo showing what a barrel and what comes with it will commonly look like.
Potentially a random assortment of candy could be included too.
2-5 different fastelavnsris, potentially more if inspiration hits. Examples of what they can look like:
One,
two and
three.
As many fastelavnsbuns as you wish. These are the three most common base buns I see in the stores:
One,
two and
three.
Filling, topping and icing can vary a lot though, so there are a lot of possibilities for items here. I would imagine just a couple of variations of each bun though.
I think that's about it, I would love to see this holiday represented on CS one day. If not this year, maybe one day in the future ^.^
