Hoard Discussions Thread v.7!

The idea of a one-page "hoard book" is so cute, I've always really liked it! It's such a fun concept to be able to flip through your hoards like that, and I imagine it saves a great deal of space in the dropdown menu LOL.
Unfortunately my brain is all over the place when settling on numbers, and so my hoard sizes often go over 20.

It did make me curious though - I couldn't remember a lot of hoards of mine that ended at 20, and a quick glimpse at the list made me notice that there's more than I remembered!

My most to least common goals:

30 (262 hoards)
50 (48 hoards)
20 (41 hoards)
100 (27 hoards)
10 (11 hoards)

40 (7 hoards)
300 (5 hoards)
1000 (3 hoards)
200 (3 hoards)

Done twice:
500, 333, 60, 11

Done just once:
2000, 1914, 404, 400, 295, 150, 45, 31, 25

Additionally I have 7 endless hoards.
You can tell I have a clear winner LOL.

I only went to 18 with this one because it just looks nicer than 20

Been really busy lately, so haven't had energy/interest to be active on CS, but oh boy, did January start me off with 5 new hoards, all being snakes :'D
Currently doing a hoard for the Orange Monthly, the Blue Monthly, the Space monthly and a hoard for the Wood Cobras and one for the PPS Caterpillar Snakes from LNY.
Good month for noodle enjoyers. :3

Goodness do I have some updates since the last time I posted! ;;
So due to some changes in my trade fodder, I have doubled my green toxic count since last time I posted.
Yep. I was at 3, and I was so happy to just have those 3.
Since then I was able to trade for 2 more, and an amazingly crazy friend of mine gave me 1.
I'm still in shock over it, but I'm so excited to share my toxics have grown to 6 ;; <3
I didn't have a set goal when I had the 3, but now that I'm at 6 I'm shooting for a crazy goal.
My next realistic goal, will be 20
I'm sure now that my trade fodder is so gone it will take some time to get there for real this time haha
But I reflect everyday, and I can't tell you how much I just love these guys. They bring such a joy to me that I can't really describe.
My crazy insane goal that will probably take my whole life if I even get that far, will be 100. That's when I'll truly stop with green toxics

January brought so many cool pet designs!! It was so hard not hoarding everything haha
But I'm going for 20 of the rainbow pps snakes and I finished my dog hoard of this litter 20/20!


I decided to make this hoard of alien kitties, checkered!

So I've added 4 of them to go with my 8 rocketeers!
I want to complete the hoard at 20

i finally reached 300,000 adult rats alongside my 20,000+ pps rats <3 300k adults is a huge milestone, ive been trying my best to resist the urge to merge the two groups again to help me towards the next milestones with my ratties. i love my babies asdfghjkl giggling and kicking my feeties <3

yes!! i love checkered hoards and have a few! for me the easiest way to do it is to trade for a small surplus of outcomes (i tend to do checkered hoards of 15 and trade for around 20 to have extras to time swap for), and then arrange as many as you can to fit the pattern and timeswap for the extras. i've found the easiest way for me personally is to have the main group with all the pets that fit my theme, and then a separate group for timeswaps. the ID numbers are a Lot of numbers and my brain doesn't mess with that too well, so i usually go by the pet adopted date. if you hover the adopted date of a pet it'll tell you the exact time they were born! i also think it's easier for people to check their own pets that way. i do a combo of asking for date swaps / sending out trades for more to get more date options. being flexible helps - sometimes you'll get a lower outcome and your group will start on a diff outcome than u were thinking ;p

last thing i'd say in my Wall of Text is: depending on the outcomes/how many sit in a group, you may need to give them special names to checker. if there's only 4 that easily sit in a line like these ponies they will end up striped not checkered. if you give them all special names like these mice then you can play around with how many fit in a row / you can checker!

tldr;
1. trade for a few extra outcomes
2. organize and figure out what dates to swap for
3. use a spare group and rename the pets to the time/id you want and post that in the date and id swap thread
4. don't be afraid to send out swap requests! most people are super nice or just don't understand why you wanna swap but still accept, haha

It helps that not a single rabbit on the site is ugly lol
The dumb goal of being the sites biggest rabbit hoarder might be stupid, but they make me happy and they'd all be very loved.
One day I might be able to have the full rabbit collection, but I'll save that goal for some other time
(especially with the existence of the spiderweb bunny and the skelebun, that's never gonna happen lololol)
