Description

Jem in true cowboy fashion is always in his well worn wranglers, cowboy boots, either a long sleeve button down or a tank top, and his brown leather cowboy hat. He stands at around 6’4, with a lean frame and a farmers tan since he spends 7 days a week 365 days a year outside taking care of his family's ranch. His dark blue eyes are usually the first thing people notice, then its typically the honey brown curls on top of his head if he isn’t wearing his hat. He is hyper aware of his slightly crooked nose, as he broke it when he was 7 after his twin sister dared him to jump off a moving horse. Not his finest moment and he will forever have the reminder not take his twin up on dares. His hands have callouses from years of horseback riding and working with cattle, though he does try to listen when his sister tells him to use lotion. Jem has a sharp jawline that he tries to keep clean shaven but depending on how tired he is will let it grow for a day or two. He keeps his curls on the longer side but short enough that he can’t tie them up in a bun or ponytail.

Personality

Jem’s momma always told him to be a gentleman, to get the door for others, to help where he can, and to be kind as you never know someone else’s story. Jem would give the shirt off his back to help another person, he’s always been like that. He’s the first person to crack a joke and the first to call when something bad’s happened. He can get a little headstrong, not always thinking things through and following his heart. He always says thank you, and asks about the family in true southern fashion. He loves his brothers kids and goes above and beyond to spend time with all of his family. He’s a happy go lucky guy who always has a smile for others and a hug for his loved ones. He’s usually the first person up on the ranch getting everything started, he loves to help the ladies in the kitchen early in the morning and always stays late to help clean up. Southern charm, a gentleman, and very much a flirt. He’s a charmer, what’s not to love?

Bio

Jem is exactly 9 seconds older than his twin sister and since he was 5 years old and learned that information he has never once let her forget it. Jem grew up one of the youngest of 5 children, in an incredibly loving home. The Luck kids lost their parents at a young age, Jem was about 8, and were raised mostly by their grandfather Damien. One of his favorite memories is completing puzzle after puzzle with his grandfather, Damien instilled an appreciation for the slower moments of life and reinforced the gentleman behavior his mother had taught him. As young children the Luck twins were left to their own devices once chores were completed, leading them both to be very competitive hence truth or dare leading to a broken nose later on. There was a time in young Jem’s life he would tell people he would be a great artist like Van Goh, and dear reader Jem is an awful artist so thankfully he grew out of that dream. Though he has made time to go and visit art exhibits throughout the entire state, still having a deep appreciation for it. Although he’s been riding horses since he was 2, he didn’t realize how much he loved cowboying until he was 12. It’s in his blood and theres nothing else he rather do. The loss of his grandfather just after his 25th birthday hit Jem hard, he’s still grieving and finding his own footing in being a partial owner of Lucky Ranch.

Amelia is a shorter woman at 5’0, putting her at the disadvantage of always having to ask for help to reach things. On top of her small stature she’s on the curvier side, her small love of sweets always being a battle with her slowing metabolism. This is not to say she isn’t in shape as she does have a dedicated yoga routine she does every evening as a healthy lifestyle is incredibly important to her. She’s a soft spoken woman with a smile that lights every room she walks into and a hearty laugh that always gets others laughing alongside her. She has long strawberry blonde hair that couldn’t hold a curl to save her life. At most she braids her hair when she’s working but outside of that loves to leave her long hair loose. She has hazel eyes that tend to be more green than the occasional honey brown. Her fair complexion is covered in freckles, as it seems to be the curse of her Irish heritage. Ames is always found in loose floral dresses and kitten heels, having a specific aesthetic for fifties dresses. Bio

Ames grew up in different foster homes, around 6 in fact. She was unwanted, excluded, rarely cared for, and sadly never really loved. She found the children's story Anne of Green Gables and really resonated with it. Her last foster family she was with for a year, from 17 to 18 and it was right outside of this very town. It’s actually how she met Lydia Landers whom all these years later is the one who got her a job at Lucky Ranch. Ever since she could remember Ames has wanted a family to call her own, to be loved and treasured that way people in books are. She’s had a rough past, when Lydia contacted her she was running from an abusive ex. She’s thrilled for this opportunity and she considers Lydia the grandmother she never had.

Five feet, five inches tall, weight about 140lb, she had super curly chocolate brown hair that falls just past her shoulders, blue eyes, and light skin. She typically wears casual clothes at home, but put a little more effort with styling when heading outside or expecting guests.

Personality: An introvert. She is a little gloomy and rather introverted. She is kind and tries to treat everyone how they treat her. She tends to take things at face value. She gets hurt badly by rumors about herself. She can be firm when she has to, but she tries to keep peace and boundaries usually through kind refusals. She's the type that is easily taken advantage of unless she gets angry. Shy, timid, but friendly.

Bio: Sara Woods lives with her biological mother and 8 siblings - plus some in-laws and nieces and nephews. The chaos is too much for her, especially after a very nasty breakup. Her father died in prison a year before, but she suddenly gets a letter from 'him' (his lawyer) which gives her the rights to the house he owned through inheritance by his own father. The house is located, you guessed it, just a little outside Moonstone Creek on a hill. She also inherited all of his assets that remained - namely a lot of silver - which she sold to get a good chunk of change.

Sara has no thoughts about keeping the house. She figures it will be a good place to get away from life for awhile. She heads over to Moonstone Creek to fix it up.

Other: Her family knows about the house, but not the extra money. They figure she'll do the bare minimum and come back home in a month or two. Her ex, Nathan D'Angelo, calls her often. Originally living in Ohio, so Texas is a BIG change.

He is a people pleaser, however he is firm and sets strong boundaries when he must. Sam is a little bit of a clown, but a lot of people don't expect it from him. The first time he walked into the clinic with a handlebar mustache, no one could take him seriously. Sam really likes people, but his anxiety is causing him to be reclusive.

Bio: Grew up in town, but moved to Austin during high school. He always had a calling when it came to animals. He was always begging the Lucks to let him help with their livestock, saving a baby bird who had fallen from its nest, to buying betta fish from pet stores 'cause he felt bad they were trapped in tiny cups. During his later high school years and early college, Sam went a little wild. Something happened during that time and Sam finally settled down to focus on what he really loved. He worked in Germany a short while before coming to Moonstone creek to take over the open position at the vet.

Other: His parents are not accepting of his romantic preferences. Sam is terrified people will outcast him if they find out that he likes men. The more friendly people are with him, the more anxious he feels. His parents still live in Austin.
