Pet's name: Snappy
I love him! Is he supposed to be one of those wooden snake toys? I used to hurt my fingers on those when I was a kid because they'd get caught.

I think they are wooden snakes because this is the year of the Wood Snake. I found out last year that the cycle isn't just a 12 year cycle. its actually a 60 year cycle. There are five elements that rotate every 12 year cycle. Last year was the Wood Dragon and this year is the Wood Snake.
I love that artists incorporated the wood element with the snakes!

Also Codex, I would love to know what your designs are based on. One I recognise as Birch wood but unsure on the others.

Thanks for your insight, those wooden snake toys were the first thing that came to my mind when I saw these guys. ^^

I'm year of the snake myself, so I was excited for and looking forward to the LNY pets this year! They did not disappoint, I don't think there's a single pet I don't love. :3

I love them all so much but these are probably my favourites:

(This one confused me, I had to look up the animals because I thought it was a fox (even though I knew there were no foxes in the race 😭) and had forgotten about the dog T.T)

I love these, the colours and details are brilliant!
And the birchbark snakes look awesome!
Also the CAT- it’s arch-nemesis may have been engraved on its back but at least it was included in this litter

And I’ve not seen anything said about these two so:

The colours- I love the jade!! And the draft horse lineart edit looks great too!

I LOVE the stars and moon on him! The fire on the head is awesome as well!

Final thoughts and fave outcomes from January!

I’m very excited to see how these puppies turn out. They are maybe butterfly or caterpillar themed? That’s my first thought, but I could see it being something completely different! I love orange & black together!

They still look like butterflies to me but I don’t know if that was the intention. I love how each of them have a different tail and ear type! The colors are wonderful and I love Saikiyo’s art style!

Hmm I don’t really know what these guys could be. Maybe penguin themed? Probably not lol. But I always love MissionFlight’s designs so I’m excited nonetheless.

Haha definitely not my guess! I really enjoy how each of them are tinted a different color.

Wow I really hope these don’t hesitate to grow because I am SO excited for them. The cloudy/starry sky design with this color pallet is perfect. It has a vintage feel.

They all turned out beautiful just as I expected. I absolutely adore these horses <3 My faves from the month.

The baby design is reminding me of early-mid 2010s CS, which is an era I LOVE. I’m very excited to see them grow. And I love these shades of red and green together. Also it kind of looks shiny?

What a cute design! The colors pair very well, and I enjoyed the two PPS ponies growing on the same day!

I see everyone is panicking about the lions already 😂 hopefully we won’t start off the year too crazy! I am agreeing that I think it’ll be rainbow themed but I think our last monthly lions were also rainbow themed… so maybe something else?

Yayy these turned out so well! I love when rainbow litters all have a certain color. Like this litter had different colored eyes for all of them. Very Lisa Frank!

I’m very excited to see some monthly pets from the new guest artists! I loved Spacekkng’s Christmas dog designs, so I have high hopes! These guys kind of look abstract like a classic Yağmur litter (specifically September 2023), or they reminded me of a calicos pattern.

I’m assuming that these are based on cat or some type of animal patterns? I particularly like the black and white outcomes and how the wings contrast with them!

And a return litter from DoctorDraca! I already enjoy these color pallet, and if I look really closely they appear to be sky themed? Celestial themes are my favorite so that’s what I’m hoping for!

Sparkly rainbow snakes! I can’t wait! They’re giving Nyan cat lol. Also it’s another new artist! I love Firielle’s butterfly wolves from Christmas.

It was so hard to pick a favorite. I love them all! This was such a smart idea and I love how each of them had a different theme! Hope to see a GUPPS for Christmas!

And our last new artist litter! I noticed Susiron was really cranking out those holiday designs lol. They all turned out great. I think these foxes could be winter themed. They remind me of mountains or snow!
