I personally love fantasy/cottage core/whimsical/dark mixed together!! This is what I've been doing, feel free to take any ideas!

I followed this hobbit hole tutorial in the side of a mountain with a river system.

I took the windows from this and added them off-center above, and i plan to add more!

I've been trying to follow a bridge and a barn tutorial but haven't found one yet I'm building in the cherry blossom biome, artificially expanding it, and trying to add dark oak/spruce accents since I haven't gone to the nether yet.

build idea: underground secret laboratory, with rooms where you 'experiment' on mobs (throw potions n stuff at em lol) and little offices and stuff. think something like the SCP facilities!! bump!

I'm rather new to this, but I used to build bases underwater with glass ceiling! Especially good for the greenhouse.
Or a base on top of a high jungle tree, with green stained glass. It can have spiral ladder leading to different levels and be connected with nearby trees on some of them. Ideal if it's the tallest tree on the edge of the jungle!

Or like a zoo, where you keep a bunch of super powerful creepy creatures that are trapped behind glass/wall etc xD
