the bauble churns with cobalt mist. inside floats a tarnished, intricate chrome locket. the locket is slightly ajar, revealing a tuft of deep auburn fur.

the creature beside it is the exact same color. its tail and chest fur are a soft cream, and its eyes glow yellow, like a street lamp. a gentle buzzing emanates from the creature’s body.

Tell me a bit about this bauble!

sometimes a haunting is a love letter.
the fur in the locket is a reference to the Victorian-era practice of keeping a lock of one’s lover’s hair!
