supporting this - i don't think a rarity feature identical to pets' would be possible as they're not released in the same way but indicators of when an item is from would be extremely helpful.
tangentially: i have noticed the FTT (in respect to items) is essentially useless for all but the absolute most valuable item trades (stuff worth nons in the user-made spreadsheet in the trading guide thread) and users will bump their item trades for days on end to get no response because most people don't have a consensus on what most items are worth, if they know where the item came from at all. currently the only reasonable workaround to not knowing where an item came from when someone has offered it to you (for most users) is posting a link of the item in a discord server with the unofficial pound bot, which is fine but this is really inefficient with trades that have more than just 1-2 items, and requires resources not available on the site in the first place. implementing a feature like this or something similar wouldn't fix the issue on its own but it'd be a good step in the right direction

Support : )
I have also heard about how rarities can't be implemented because items don't have IDs like pets do, but having the year or events items were released in in their names would be great. I think it would make trading items easier, and it seems implementable.

YES, THANK YOU STAFF
Taking the C$ indicator out of the title and leaving an edit noteUpdated with this now:
Taking it back, because, umm, we're not actually satisfied with this new C$ indicator, since it doesn't show up in the titles when trading (yes there's a category, but those items are not sorted in any other meaningful way when trading (if I pull up what's on their wishlist? still doesn't indicate if it's a store item........

I do really wish that the new indicator (which is a wonderful addition!) showed up in the names not just in your own private items page, but when you go to trade. I would love to see it there when I am looking through someone's items, so I understand if I'm offering on a store item or not, without having to have it in MY inventory and looking there to see it, or going to the archive as before. It... feels like the most useful purposes of the indicator are still missing.
I AM really grateful that staff has implemented the indicator at all, and that they're listening and thinking about these kinds of issues that folks are asking for. It means a lot to know our requests are noticed and thoughtfully considered. THANK YOU STAFF!

Support! As a more casual player than some who doesn’t have any item values memorized, right now I can’t even guess whether most item trades are fair without hunting through the entire archive, which can take a ridiculously long time. To be honest, it often discourages me from trading items at all because it’s so hard to understand what I’m doing. An indicator like the one in the mockup Horror made would be an absolute lifesaver.
