“I’m glad, we’ve been treated so well here I’m not quite sure if I’m ready to leave.” Adeline replied, a small frown appearing on her lips for a brief moment. Whilst she wanted to go home, and certainly didn’t want to keep the others behind, the idea of braving the cold frightened her. Alas she had a duty to attend to at home, one greater than she currently knew, and so did everyone else. “Ah she didn’t look the best last night, but she’s a fighter. I know she is! I believe a few more days of rest and recuperation will be sufficient.” The princess mused before looking up to Kisa’s room, smiling as she heard the door creak open. To her it was no surprise to see the knight accompanying her and was quite glad someone had been taking care of her.
Romanos nodded, feeling quite grateful that she agreed to his help. He knew that she could figure it out on her own but he would rather make sure it was done correctly himself. He held out his arm to keep her steady as the two of them made their way down to where the others were sitting. “Good evening.” He stated as he let go of Kisa only to pull the chair out for her. Once she was seated and comfortable he gently pushed the chair closer to the table before settling in himself. “How was your day?” He questioned, looking between Alok and the princess. Whilst the four of them spoke a plate of hot food was set before them and his stomach rumbled in thankfulness. He knew he had gotten rather hungry but he was seemingly starving! As soon as the food cooled down enough he gently dipped a piece of bread into the soup before beginning to eat.

Alok nodded in understanding as he listened to her,"I'm glad. It truly has been great of the hospitality that we've been given here, but we really do need to get back to the kingdom as soon as we can. Especially since we know that the royal who was banished some years back is back in the land." He said as he thought about it at the same time. When he heard the creak, he followed the princess's gaze towards the dorm rooms and smiled himself to see the knight and handmaiden making their way down the stairs.
The elf frowned a little to have just noticed some of the bandages on all her limbs that were peeking out from under her clothing, as well as the wrap around her head, but all in all, he was glad the kitsune was up on her feet. Alok gave their comrades a smile in greeting,"Good evening. I think our day went pretty well." He said, glancing at Adeline before looking back at the vampire. As they started to eat, the knight smiled a bit more,"Adeline is a natural born archer. Man, this food is delicious!" He exclaimed, licking his lips happily as his mind shifted very quickly.
Kisa blushed a little as he helped her down, a little embarrassed that he kept a hold on her to help, even though she knew that she could have walked - or more so limped - by herself. Alas, she pushed back some of her stubbornness and allowed him to help her down to the dining area. As they neared the table with their friends, the kitsune's eyes seemed to light up a little and a gentle came to her face as she saw the princess.
She gave a little nod in greeting before sitting down on the chair, trying to keep herself from not resting her back too much on the wooden chair. Kisa dipped a piece of her bread into the soup and gentle blew on it to help it cool, listening to the others as she did so. Her ears pricked slightly to a certain comment before she glanced at Adeline,"A-Archery, my lady?" She asked her softly.

"I understand Alok and once you deem it time to leave I will collect my things and accompany you. It is only wishful thinking that I would not have business to attend to at the castle." Adeline replied, quick to make sure the other understood that she would not argue about leaving. Even though she desired to run away from everything that came with being a princess, she would not subject anyone else to her fate. Besides if something happened to her parents without her being present the kingdom would be in disarray whilst her advisors scrambled to find a replacement, she would not run from the throne no matter how much it came to mind.
"Kisa I am thrilled to see you up and walking." The princess stated whilst stirring her soup around in an attempt to cool it off. "Archery! Isn't it absolutely silly to think of me doing such a thing?" She questioned, giggling slightly at the foolishness of it all. Her father certainly would throw a fit if he were to find out the "unlady-like" activities she were participating in. Alas she was doing it to survive and perhaps a part of her was doing it to rebel as well, nonetheless her father was not going to find out about such things. "How are you feeling today Kisa?"
"I am pleased to hear that we need all the help that we can get throughout our journey back. I imagine we need to leave within the week to beat the storms that the townsfolk are talking about, hopefully sooner if we can. I was able to get a map, some rations, and other necessities such as a tent and bags to carry our items in. I doubt we need much more unless there is anything else any of you can think of?" Romanos questioned in between bites of his soup. Although they were at dinner and typically such talk should be reserved for later in such a setting, he found it hard to keep himself from planning. He more than anyone else was quite anxious to get back as he was concerned at how the army was handling themselves without two of their best leaders. However despite his worries he would not trade his choice to follow after Alok and save Kisa for anything else. It was a good journey and it had allowed him to grow in a multitude of ways, no matter what happened he was grateful for it.

The kitsune listened to the princess as she slightly tilted her head to the side and a smiled slipped onto her face, gently shaking her head to the princess's question,"N-Not at all." She said before nibbling on her bread. Kisa thought back to the mornings at the castle, being up on the balcony of Adeline's room as the two of them watched the soldiers train below. She tried her best not to show it, but she was always intrigued whenever the soldier were practicing their archery, even more so then the princess was, if she were to be so bold to say so. She had always loved the bow and arrow, and took as many notes of them as she could whilst watching. Even more so, somewhere deep inside, the kitsune felt as though she had shot one before in the past, but couldn't think of where.
Kisa was pulled out of her daydream and looked towards Adeline once again,"Mmm? Oh. W-Well. I-I've been feeling a bit better. E-Everything still hurts, but my fever broke this morning. I-I even spent most of the afternoon in the parlor." She told her princess with a little smile.
Alok took a bite of his soup before he looked at his fellow knight,"I agree. I would say as soon as we're able to, we should go." He commented before shaking his head,"Not that I can think of. We can go the stuff later and see if we're missing another else. We should also make some time to look and study the map to help plan out our travels before we leave as well. Adeline and I were able to make some good money in selling her jewelry, so payments shouldn't be an issue on the way home." He said before being reminded of something he wanted to tell the vampire.
"Speaking of payments, when she's well enough to do so, you should take Kisa to the armory that Adeline and myself went to. You know what I say before we take any teams out on missions. Everyone should have some form of a weapon on them, even if it's just a small dagger." He told him, wanting to make sure that they all were prepared.

"I'm glad you think it isn't, I'm sure I will become more accustomed to the thought of it soon. I truly do love it, for some reason when I hold the bow it feels as though my ancestors are besides me." The princess replied before taking a bite out of the loaf that she was given. The food was delicious on her tongue and warm within her stomach, even though they were simple dishes compared to the delicacies served within the castle she found them to be more appetizing. Whilst she loved the sport of archery she still could hear the chiding words of her father which is why in the presence of others she seemed to take it a bit less seriously.
"I am so very glad to hear that, I do hope you found a good book to occupy your time. Although I am sure you did." The princess hummed in between bites of soup. Whilst the two women spoke her gaze occasionally looked over at Alok, it was as if she were unable to keep her eyes off of the other.
The vampire was quite grateful that the other was in agreeance with him, although he knew he would be. "We certainly should do that soon, perhaps not tomorrow but the day after. It certainly is a relief that we were able to gather extra funds as it still looks like there is a ways to go. I looked at the map earlier and can just barely see our kingdom at the edge of it. I cannot believe that dragon took us so far." The knight replied as he took the last sip of his soup, leaning back in his chair in relief from the sustenance he gained from the food.
"That sounds like a wonderful plan, we discussed a few stops we want to make tomorrow as long as she feels strong enough to accompany me. I'll be sure to find something that she is comfortable with, especially if we have good funds to do so." Romanos replied, leaning his elbows on the table as he spoke with his companion.

"Perhaps they are." Kisa responded in a soft voice before moving on to work on eating her soup once she was all out of her bread. Being from a land where they used magic, it didn't surprise the kitsune that the princess felt her ancestors with her, and wouldn't be surprised if they really were there. At the same time, it was very difficult for that to ever happen. She was very grateful for the warm bowl of soup as she ate it, warming her up more and more as she ate it. The tip of her tails swayed a little at her side, revealing just how happy she was for the meal. Kisa nodded her head a little,"T-Their selection was small, b-but I managed to find something that peeked my interest." She confirmed to her.
Alok smiled as he finished up the last of his meal before nodding in agreement,"The day after it is, then." He said, filling a cup with water before leaning back into his own chair,"I figured it was far, but I certainly didn't think it was that far." The elf commented before sipping on the cool liquid from his glass. He had hoped that they were closer then he thought, but that clearly wasn't in the cards for them. Alok nodded his head once again as he took note of the vampire's plan for the coming day,"Very well. I was thinking that I might see if maybe they have some horses that we could take." He explained his thoughts to him,"We certainly can walk and carry the items, but the ladies would only be able to do so much, and even we have our limits on foot. Plus, if we get some horses that were raised up here, they would do far better on the terrain then we would."

The warmth of the food washed over Adeline as she savored every last bite. She felt more relaxed than ever, especially in the presence of all of their companions. She rather enjoyed being able to catch up with Kisa, whilst also overhearing the two knights discuss their plans for the rest of the week. It frightened her to know that a storm was approaching, but she would never show it. There wasn’t much that would invoke such a scared reaction out of her anymore, she wasn’t the timid princess she used to be. “That is good to hear, perhaps I shall check it out this evening as well. It would do me some good to get lost in a book.” The woman mused before taking the last sip of her soup. Now both her heart and stomach was full, what more could she possibly ever ask for ?
“Certainly, I suppose we should have known due to the brisk temperatures.” Romanos stayed as their kingdom had a rather warm climate. Although they were trained for every temperature and climate imaginable, it was still too brisk for his liking. Although he wasn’t such a fan of the cold he did enjoy seeing the snow, which was a rare sight. “If we could get horses to travel with us everything should be a breeze. Perhaps I will make time tomorrow to see if there is anything we can do on that front.” The knight replied, nodding his head in agreement. He wasn’t sure the of the price, but even two would be beneficial so they could take rests.

Kisa smiled softly at the princess as she watched her. She couldn't help up but be relaxed around her. Adeline's smile was always full of light and laughter, quite contagious really. When it was just broth left from her soup, she gingerly lifted her bowl up to her lips before sipping the golden liquid up. She had picked up on the odd words of the knights, but also tried not to eavesdrop on their conversation. The kitsune gently set her bowl down as she gave another soft smile,"I-It truly does help to relax to get lost in a book. I-I'd join you in the parlor, b-but unfortunately I'll be whisked back up to my room after this." She said. She glanced at the vampire for a second before looking away just as quickly, her cheeks turning to a rosy shade of pink.
Alok couldn't help but grin at his comrade before shaking his head a little with a helpless sigh. Yup, there he went putting more things onto his plate,"Don't even think about it. I'll ask around tomorrow and see if there's anything available to us. Besides, you already mentioned that you had plans of an outing with the maiden." He reminded the vampire, tilting his head ever so slightly in the direction of the kitsune. The elf grin,"Plus, you were busy today with acquiring a lot of the needed supplies we'd need. It's my turn to pull around some of the weight!" He stated firmly.

“That is quite alright Kisa, I know you need the rest. I am sure we will find plenty of time to spend together once everything smooths out. Besides I’m not sure how long I will be able to keep my own eyes open.” Adeline replied, surprising a yawn that desperately wanted to breach her lips. She certainly would like to stay up just a bit longer to converse with Alok before going to bed. She couldn’t help but notice the rosy blush that came with glancing at the vampire and it seemed the maiden was in the same boat as she.
“I was simply going to stop by on our way to the armory, plus you certainly have been pulling your weight. But if you insist who am I to say no to a lighter load.” Romanos replied, a small smile creeping onto his lips. He appreciated the help of the elf more than he knew. It would be nice to get back to the inn before sunset, that would be good for the both of them. His eyes shifted over to Kisa for a brief moment before shifting back to his plate. He was quite excited to spend a full day with her and show her around the two. sit would make for a lovely day.

Kisa looked up from her lap and at the princess before smiling softly,"I-I can understand why. It certainly was a busy day for you." She commented. She would have liked to have been there and watched Adeline's first time at wielding a weapon, but alas, it just wasn't in the cards for her. Having finished her meal, the kitsune gently wiped her fingers and dabbed her mouth with the napkin before placing it onto her plate,"T-That was a delicious meal." She said sweetly, happy to have a full stomach, her hands folded neatly on her lap.
Alok chuckled with a nod,"I really do insist. Besides, it's not like either of us would actually know where to go in finding out the information." He said as he rubbed the back of his head. The elf smiled as he looked around the table, taking notice of the ladies for the first time since they started dinner, nodding in agreement with the kitsune,"It defiantly was. Now it's time to sit back and relax for a bit before calling it a night. Might even take a bath." He said as he thought about it. After being out all day in the cold air, a bath to clean up and warm up sounded better and better to the elf.
